I gotta agree. Orton should of been in there not Cena. Finlay should of been in there not Jericho. Or atleast no Cena and Jericho. I personnally liked the song it made it seem right.
On the other hand maybe he was close with Cena. However he didn't choose who'd be there therefore unless Cena was one of his best friends I have no idea why he was there.
Anyway that isn't my biggest complaint. Triple H shouldn't of gotten up and stood on the turnbuckles. It made it look like he was trying to steal the spotlight. I think they could of had Funk in there. I understand why Dusty wasn't there. I just kinda wish that Cena wouldn't of been in there or atleast not as early.
I hope in an upcoming issue of WWE magazine they interview him. They could explain how Flair felt about everyone in there. Maybe that would explain why Cena was in there.

I agree with Paul on a lot of topics. Jericho maybe a relatively "new generation guy, but he's been in the business and has enough of a legacy so far to be in the ring with Flair. Cena should have ing stayed out of the damn ring, the only reason he's in there is to wax sympathetic with the Cena-teeny-boppers and the kids. EVERYONE but The Four Horsemen and the older wrestlers should have been allowed in the ring and the younger guys and less established ones surround the ring. That theme music that was playing was more like a inside hint for Flair to stay out of the ring rather than relish the time that he had IN it. His music should have been playing and they should have shown a video package of Flair's title wins, his greatest matches, instead of trying to "secretly" keep hyping the obvious HBK/Batista feud. It should have been 100% FLAIR and nothing else. Period.

You be bitter too if you had to watch Vince take your "child" and rape it right infront of you. Yeah, giving it the most notoriety its ever had is 'raping' it. I think we have finally found a more annoying mark than mrchase. Everything you have said in this thread has been wrong.

If Orton had gotten an entrance and gone in the ring he would have been booed and it would kind of ruin the moment.

Heyman is making a big deal out of nothing. I mean yeah Cena & Jericho didn't need to come out but it's not that big of a deal.

Yeah, giving it the most notoriety its ever had is 'raping' it. What the are you taking about? Theres is a difference between notoriety and taking his original brainchild and completely changing it to make it just another WWE product. Believe me, I wasnt a big ECW supporter back in the day, but taking yet another WWE tv show and slapping "ECW" on it like it is supposed to be that is ing insane.Heymans vision is not the "ECW" we see today.Vince has ever right to do with the ECW as he wishes as he owns it now, but if you dont think it is a slap to the face of Heyman then you clearly dont know what the you are talking about. New fans are curious when they hear about 'ECW Originals' and the like so they go and watch old ECW stuff. Heyman's version of ECW is getting watched more these days than when it was actually airing.

I have to agree with the Cena thing. Either Orton or Edge should been in there. Orton because of Evolution, and Edge because of their ladder match, which if you've ever heard comments about it from either, then you'd know that it meant a lot to both of them.

Jericho and Flair had a fued in 2002-2003 and had been through WCW/WWE together, so thats kind of understandable.
Did not see why Cena was in the ring. I'm a huge fan of his, but he was out of place. Big Show should have been in before him (2002 fued with Flair/Show vs. Austin).

I think Heyman is an ass for bringing this up. What's the big friggin deal on who's in the ring and who's not. This was a goodbye to Flair and I'm pretty sure Flair wasn't bitching and moaning about who was in the ring and who wasn't so to me what Heyman says has no merit.

I agree Cena seemed out of place in a way, but Flair has said himself that he really likes Cena, has tremendous repspect for him, and that they are friends. Just because you all think Cena sucks, doesn't mean that Flair agrees.

I'm not getting all of the 'Cena should have stayed out of the ring' criticisms. If I remember correctly, a couple of the live Hall of Fame reports mentioned Flair complimenting Cena as being the company's best young star, or something along those lines. So who is to say Flair isn't some sort of mentor to Cena? It's been reported a couple of times that Cena constantly asks veterans' advice on how to get better. And this is no disrespect or discredit to Paul Heyman, because he's a genius when it comes to wrestling and crafting a story, but the guy hasn't been with the company for over a year and a half so how is he to know whether or not there is a friendship or a mentor-like relationship between Cena and Flair. It seems like we're taking another moment pretty much everyone loved a week ago and making it another opportunity to complain about dislike for John Cena.
Point of the Rant: The Ric Flair tribute was great regardless of whether Cena was in the ring, out of the ring, in the building, or shooting a movie. Let it go people.
