Just for reference, how much did Jakks equivalent to an Elite figure cost? It's been almost 5 years so I can't be sure, but I believe that at their most expensive, JAKKS DA figures never got more than 11.99 and RA figures were like 8.99 - 9.99. Mattel Elites started at $14.99 and are up to 18.99 - 21.99 in most places. It's getting out of control. But if we are getting better quality figures at 18.99 as compared to Jakks DA figures at 11.99, doesnt that balance out? When I was in art school a teacher once told "cheap art isn't good, and good art isn't cheap". Jakks figures were less expensive, but the quality was not good now was it? Mattel is higher quality, therefore demand a slightly higher price.

You can't say don't complain about something because what you're getting now is better than anything before. Thats not the point. With constructive criticism you actually improve products. The goal is to get as accurate/high quality products as perfect as possible. Its a working process. If you don't voice certain things that are not being taken care of then you lose your right as a consumer to let the brand know what works, what doesn't etc. These days the paint jobs is lacking. There's botches and chips on the figures right out the box. Thats inexcusable and Mattel needs to know about that so it doesn't happen again. True.. and I guess the other option is to just not buy them at all, right.

I think people just get frustrated sometimes. The bottom line is that these "toys" are expensive, and I think the more we pay, the higher quality figure we should receive. However, this is not always the case. As the prices go UP, the quality has gone DOWN. The quality has gone down in terms of quality control, ie, sloppy paint jobs, warped parts, backwards feet. And the quality has also gone down in terms of the realistic body parts used for the figures. We need some more torso choices, arm choices, leg choices, so that guys who clearly do not have the same type of body are not getting the same type of parts. And I know JAKKS was even worse at this with no scale and overuse of the same parts, but Mattel's figures are the most expensive wrestling figures EVER, so I expect a lot. Also, part choices are a little strange sometimes. I don't expect them to make a new part for everyone's unique shoe or boot, but when they have parts that would be better options and choose not to use them, it's a little odd. The short boots on Billy Gunn and Lex Luger come to mind right away. Billy Gunn should have gotten the LOD boots, as his knee pads have ALWAYS touched his boot tips, and Lex should have gotten the tall boots like Taker gets, as his knee pads always touched his boot tips as well. And obviously, I think them giving retro Shawn Michaels figures the same kickpads that Jericho and Daniel Bryan figures currently get annoys EVERYONE. What HBK used yo wear and what Y2J/DBry currently wear could not be more different. Another thing that annoys people, as the price goes up, the accessories and quality of the accessories are going down. One Entrance Greats Undertaker has ever come out with a leather coat. If Sting comes with the hard rubber shell coat, I'm going to be pissed because at a $24.99 price point, I expect more than what a regular Elite would come with. So in conclusion, I think people complain because they pay a lot of money and they expect a little bit more. Mattel's WWE figures are the best that have every been made, don't get me wrong, but when I can sit here and think of 5 better parts a guy should have been given instead of what the finished product actually came with, it's a little annoying especially considering the money I'm dropping. Just for reference, how much did Jakks equivalent to an Elite figure cost?

I completely agree with Snuka and Mr. Perfect. Both heartbreaking. But I'm confident they rerelease in correct attire and body, respectively.
In the grand scheme of things, Mattel is kicking ass and will continue to kick ass. Sure, there are a few things here and there. But isn't that just how things go? One day that Big Mac is going to taste so good... Next time you go it seems they threw it together with no love right? But you go back anyways.

Something that I don't quite understand...
A little background: I used to collect figures in the late 90s and then stopped for a very long time. Until recently. Started back up in April and I'm sitting at around 80 elites. Now, I truly love these figures. I really do. Hats off to Bill and everyone else at Mattel.
Now here's what I don't get. A lot of people seem to complain about Mattel scans or attire selections. Or just plain and simple lineup selections. I hope I don't come across as argumentative, but seriously compared to Jakks and those before Mattel, Mattel blows them out of the water. I mean the figures are innovative and the scans are typically on point. And when they aren't, they are still a whole lot better than anything else.
So in a very friendly way, I say to you: why complain?

I hope that the 4th dm figure for 2015 will be the undertaker from wrestlemania 9 or survivor series 91 that is what I am hoping for please read mattel design team make it happen please . What's the difference between WM9 undertaker and the debut Undertaker that will be released in the WM31 set? They are both grey gloves undertakers right?

So it's safe to assume the "defining moment" for this Razor figure is when he lost to 1-2-3 kid on Raw. I saw the Hogan box at RSF and the said WrestleMania 3 so that's the moment for the Hogan figure and we all know the Sting figure will be Starrcade '97.
I don't think anyone knows yet what the 4th DM figure will be for 2015 but I'm sure looking forward to whatever it'll be. Exciting times for Mattel, WWE, and us collectors!

Ppl need to stop taking the "defining moments" title so literally and be happy we are getting high budget elite figures again. Especially of someone like Razor who mattel previously claimed would never be done Huh? Stop taking the name so literal? Then what the heck is the whole point of a "Defining Moments" line. If they are just throwing figures out there for the hell of it then why not just make it a simple Flashback.

Sup y'all.
So, which event or moment is the upcoming Defining Moments Razor Ramon based on? at RSF we saw a ladder behind him which we could assume is a reference to Wrestlemania 10. Problem is, he wore his black/gold attire then. I know he wore the purple/gold attire on a few occasions, but which event or moment is the purple attire synonymous with?
Also, would Mattel choosing to do a Razor in the purple attire as opposed to his memorable WM10 black/gold attire mean anything in regards to a potential black/red Scott Hall in the future? I assume they would not want to make a Razor in black/gold and then a Scott Hall in black/red. Is this a fair assumption?

So it sounds like most think this is a pretty cool idea. I'll put an initial list together, and everyone here can add to it (and make corrections) and when we have something good hopefully a mod can pin the final thread.

Right but that's why I said only where applicable. Would the fact that most attires aren't specific to an event kind of defeat the purpose of this though?

Howdy partners,
this thread does not have to be it, but could this board potentially benefit from some sort of attire database?
we have the official line up thread, but I was thinking, what if we add to, or create a separate thread to keep a database for attires (when applicable of course).
for example:
Elite 23 Triple H - WrestleMania XV Elite 23 Undertaker - WrestleMania 12 Ringside Exclusive The Rock - SummerSlam 1998
etc.
might be a stupid idea. And if it is, I guess say in this thread haha.

I just thought, what about blue gloved Undertaker? Came out in E23 and then redid him recently in basic for the heritage line I believe. So in essence there could be a possibility of it.
Also, is E23 Triple H based off WM15?

howdy y'all
Just wanted to pick your brains a bit about the SS 1998 Triple figure that recently came out in basic. Based on your experience with Mattel, what are the chances this figure gets released in Elite? What is the history of basic figures eventually getting the Elite treatment?

If they make another anorexic Hennig, they can keep it. He was bulked up big time in WCW. Man I agree. Legends Mr Perfect was way too thin.

The thing about some of these is you get yourself a NWO shirt and BAM. You have the NWO version. Luger never wore trunks or pads with NWO on them that I can remember. Neither did Mr. Perfect. Might be wrong. Memory isn't what it used to be and that was a long time ago. True but with the Luger, if we got a Ringside Exclusive, they can take the mold of E30 Luger and give him black trunks, black knee pads, tall white boots and change the hair to a pony tail, package him with a cloth Wolfpac shirt like the Giant nWo shirt and bam! We've got a Wolfpac Lex Luger. As for Hennig, change the legends attire to black with a neon green or orange back, cloth nWo shirt and bam! We've got an nWo Hennig! The same with upcoming x-PAC. Just some attire changes and we are good!

I meant to say, I tried to make it as realistic as possible.
Hollywood Hogan (On Contract: we are starting to get his figures now) Scott Hall (On Contract: Although, we may only get some Razor Ramon stuff and not necessarily Scott Hall - kind of like the Hall of Fame) Lex Luger (we are getting the first Luger figure so maybe Ringside could do his Wolfpac attire) Curt Hennig (this could be another easy exclusive/limited run) Syxx (also, we are getting the first x-pac so a Syxx might be an easy exclusive that can be made)
I would have wanted to include Steiner, Bagwell, etc. But that's highly unlikely.

Sup y'all.
Just wanted to try something fun (hopefully I don't get my head ripped off). Just wanted what you all thought/or wanted the next nWo figure to be.
These would go along with the already released figures (Kevin Nash, The Giant, Randy Savage).
Let me know your thoughts!! C'mon!! Yeah!
