I've migrated to gifyu.com for free image hosting, and am going to start transferring some pictures over to see how it goes. So far, only my sig is from that service, but here's hoping for better than photobucket's crap!

I just picked up a Tribute to the Troops ring new in the box for $26.50 total on ebay. Now, my kids and I finally have a ring in a retro blue for some back in time action, as we didn't use the stickers! It seemed like a good deal, as it wasn't much more than to buy a current ring at retail.

Look at Bobby the Weasel down there trying to stay out of it, but you just know he's going to play dirty any way he can to help his boys!

I'll admit, I wasn't keen on the cloth shirts either. Jakks seemed to take a cheap method with them, and could clearly produce fine white shirts out of molded plastic. I will say, Gorilla's cloth shirt came very much in handy when I was working on this figure, as I painted it and trimmed it into his vest, with Tazz's molded white shirt underneath.

I can't imagine this practice would be prohibited. As you've said, it's not a mass-produced effort, and so companies such as Mattel would see little economic threat from customs. Not only that, but you have to purchase their products in order to produce said customs. Consider a similar practice: my mother loves to collect Briar Horse Statues. Some Briar collectors will buy a model, paint is themselves as a custom, and sell them for more than probably any wrestling figure custom has ever been sold for. Yet there are Briar "horse shows" all around the country, and customizers are regarded as creative artists who produce sought-after work. I have never heard of Briar stepping in to block this work. I can't recall Jakks having ever made a fuss during their heyday, and the custom work here was arguably even more prolific. In short, have fun, customize, and occasionally make a profit. It's an art piece as much as a figure.

My first Jakks figure was a Titan Tron Live Big Show. I don't have it any more, as it was laughably short in scale against other figures compared to how tall he was supposed to be. I don't think I'd buy it again, as there were so many versions afterward, and the R3 tech version was by far, and is still my favorite.

I went to my local Wal Mart last night an was shocked to see the old stock all gone, battle packs, elites, the works! And new figures, like Enzo and Cass, Kane with his mask in a box, and a new Rock. But the odd thing, they put Elite 18 Brodus and Elite 23 JBL on the shelf under the new ones. Possibly some of their oldest, and yet left behind? Why? So strange.

Not a new notion, based upon other pictures that popped up on google. It seems nobody was particularly impressed with the announcer version of Gorilla Monsoon that Jakks put out. This was my first attempt at torso and crotch cracking, as well as removing joint pegs, and the parts were a mix of announcer Gorilla and announcer Tazz that were repainted and trimmed.

She looks great! I will admit, I'm more used to some of her more punky looking attire, I didn't realize she'd wrestled in this basic of an outfit, but I think you've captured the look! A nice rendition of the 9th wonder of the world!

What a difference a camera makes! And daylight, too. The same figure, but with a good amount of daylight, and different camera doing the work. [/a] [/a]

My rendition of a later years Andre has finally taken shape. I even made a try of a removable singlet like his previous elite. Thoughts? Opinions? [/a]

I would definitely vote for Daniel Bryan as the most conspicuous shelf warmer at my Wal Mart, but I am noticing that my particular store just threw nearly all of the elites on a back aisle end cap at the rear of the store, so they've got no visibility. There's a separate smaller section within the aisle with the basics and a few elites, and elite Big Show is still in there. After all the hoopla, I notice Bam Bam Bigelow is still warming our shelves, as are these Hasbro blast from the past figures. I'm wondering if the kids in our town just aren't watching the rasslin' like in the bigger cities?

Many irons in the fire, as seems to be how I end up working. My later years Andre gets settled into his new singlet color, while plans to enlarge his hairdo are next. My Tex McKenzie custom is starting to take shape, and I've got a custom Gorilla Monsoon on the way, too. Otherwise, Triple H bides his time in the background, awaiting his turn to transform into Ivan Kalmikoff the Crazy Russian, manager of Big Tex and the Mighty Igor.

Very cool lineup! I don't know a lot about the Masked Superstar, but I always like the retro guys in this forum. And you've got 'em against the Mid Atlantic backdrop, which is a nice touch! The box set is also pretty snazzy, though I feel like you ought to throw in a folding chair or something as an accessory behind them (that's probably just the Jakks collector in me). Very well done, and I don't expect it'll be too long before MaskedSuperstarFan weighs in on this set, too!

With these guys having tea, can Hogan be far behind reprising his role a Mr. Nanny? Somebody's gotta mind baby brother Tommy, or whoever Barbie's little siblings were. This was a treat!

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I cannot think of a single dog or cat I have known or had since my childhood that did not hurt deeply when they passed away. Time heals the hurt, but sweet memories help in the long run. Knowing they had a good life with you is important, dogs don't have it so good in all parts of the world. There are a couple of sayings that I think about when I look at my own pups and make me glad they're in my life. The first one makes me grin: "Lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car, then come back and let them out after an hour, and see which one is happy to see you." A bad joke, but it's got one seed of truth, dogs are completely loyal and without boundaries for our friendship, and are so happy to be in our pack with us no matter the circumstances. The other one makes me a little sad: "Our dogs look at us and say 'They are ageless elves, never changing, even as I age, and my joints stiffen.'" That's why we get to spoil them rotten, and give them the best we can all along. We'll be able to remember them, and not regret their journey with us.

Elite Legion of Doom Animal. I picked it up at my local Wal Mart to use as a trade with another member here, and then that member never bothered to respond to my private messages. Now, it seems to have appreciated in value, at least according to eBay's prices, so I guess it's good to have around, as it may still be worth a trade someday, but at a better trade value. If nothing else, Animal looks pretty cool, so it wasn't a total waste.

I'm gonna take a crack at this one, whether genothegiant wants to buy it or not. I'm an Andre fan, and this looks like a fun project! I'll post pics as things progress!

I'd try hand soap and an old toothbrush in some nice hot water for a start. It worked wonders for an old Food Fighter figure I got on ebay awhile back, and also helped clean up dirt buildup on my R3 tech Big Show not long ago, too.
