1. Resin printers are better than filament if you want to return yours. And, you get what you pay for. This is NOT a cheap or EASY hobby. 2. We do not scan. We create the figure using zBrush. 3. My wife was a beginner and is now a pro. Self taught. So it depends on your dedication. Not familiar with Cura. And yes, you are in deep, dark waters. Start by watching YT videos, then buy an online course and learn learn learn. You have 0% chance to just up and print Hasbro style customs by next week for example. And of course, SO much goes into the processes after it prints, not to mention painting, dremmel, etc. Good luck you to, kind sir. It's a crazy intense thing to do if you're wanting to do it well. Appreciate the advice, brother! If those waters are deep then I'll cruise them in a Nor-Tech 5200 Roadster. Gotta learn somehow. Thanks!

I just picked up a Creality Ender 5 Pro, but know nothing about 3D printing. I want to create WWF Hasbro prototype customs. I'd like to modify some figures to my own liking and make 3d prints of the figure I have. So, here are my questions...
1) What is the right kind of filament to use for the figs?
2) Do I need to buy a scanner, or does the printer have one? Mine is still in the box.
3) I'm going with Cura 4.6. Is this good software for a beginner?
I appreciate any insight. I'm in uncharted waters here. Thank you so much.

Also, I'm late to the party, but here is custom Doink Series 12 I may try to take another picture of the figure during the day. The lighting sucks. Also, I'm thinking about taking the plunge and getting a 3D printer. I want to broaden the horizon. I feel like I could design and create some killer customs. I've just never used one. For anyone that has, is it worth it? I was really close to getting a 3D printer a while back, and then a few other things cane up that took all my money! But I’m still hoping to get one at some point. I made the plunge this morning. I want to create LJN-Hasbro mashups. I'll probably be spending time creating an inventory. Then, if all goes well, ill sell those suckers. I'll let you know how the progress goes.

I'm back in the game. Been really busy with work, and my grandma ending up in the hospital with pneumonia (shes better now), with almost a month at my rehab center where I'm an OT. Then there is the gardening and reading. I have a lot of almost done figures that were waiting heads and/or decals. The ones that are nearly finished are: - Tazz - Raven - Rocky Maivia - Rick Rude SummerSlam 90 - Billy & Chuck - Rico - Butch Reed - Mr. America Here's my decal sheet...

Here’s a few of my latest customs and works in progress. First up, Jim The Anvil Neidhart. A very simple/ lazy custom. But does the job. Still need to do some touch ups though. I ALWAYS think of a way to create customs as simply as possible. It helps them look more legit and you avoid giving them that custom paint shop look. The duller pink Anvil matches a Bret I made as a Hart Foundation pair.

The Dynamite Kid Wow! That Dynamite looks like a million bucks! Do you have anything beside glue to reinforce the Retro torso to the Hasbro DBS legs?

I think this line would have benefit from some theming. gentlemanjohnny touched on something above in regards to nWo Macho Man. I think this line was too erratic. Say series 1 was 4 Golden Age wrestlers, and they marketed it to an era or more specifically a show. Like say, WrestleMania 3 series, It’s Hogan, Andre, Savage and Steamboat and they are all in their WM3 attires...that kind of organization is exactly what I love. You feel like even though they only made 4 figures, it’s a collection of its own because it’s all stars from WrestleMania 3. The obvious set back to this idea would be, well what if somebody doesn’t care for that particular show. It’s still just a Hogan, Savage etc so I don’t think it matters to somebody that DOES’NT like the show, but it definitely sells to somebody that likes Wrestling and collecting. And then I would just alternate, for the 2nd series do something more modern so you cater to all fans. If the Legends are moving more than the current guys, make more Legends series. Just do what’s selling Mattel tried to cater to everyone in each series and I feel like there wasn’t enough there for most people. Like why would I want nWo Macho Man when I have no other WCW guys? If they made a WCW series though, yea give me some WCW guys! I don’t know, just my thoughts For sure. Series 4 was NWA Flair, along with Zayne, Owens and Balor. One of these things is unlike the others applied a few times like this with Retros.

SDCC 2020 @home what a bummer for Retros. Not even a word. As for the MOTU figures, they seem to do everything right. Great character choices. Jakes action feature is spectacular. So yeah, why weren't the wrestlers picked like this for Retros? Jake? Piper? T? On a cool note, just by looking at the Savages and Warrior MOTU, I'd say that's what a Retro head scan would look like for those guys. I'm getting a few to convert to Retros.

Hey. Hope everyone’s having a good weekend! So today I finally got time to have a play around with an idea that I’ve had for a custom for quite a while - but had been reluctant to start because of the amount of work involved. Still a fair bit of work involved, but I’m so pleased with how it’s going so far (and that I’ve managed to keep the mechanism/action working) that I just had to share. So here’s my WWF Hasbro custom wip of Rugged Ronnie Garvin, with Garvin Stomp: WOW. Well done so far! I'm glad you went with the leg swap over sanding the Butch ones down. Now, I'd get some very fine sand paper and continue to work on the torso. Then, trust me on this...buff it by hand to smooth it out as much as you can before applying primer. Where did you find the Garvin head?

To be honest, I say to the very opposite. One of the worst mistakes I've ever made was painting faces when I didnt have to. The faces rely so much on the detail that came with the head scans. If I had that figure in my hands to work on tonight, heres what I'd do... 1. Apply grey primer to body (not head) 2. Establish a skintone paint mix as similar to the head as possible and paint the body. Add a bit of water to your flesh tone and apply several light coats to minimize that thick brush stroke look. 3. Paint the tights and boots. Let me know if I could help. I design decals and could send you the crown logo and tattoos. If they aren't in my library, I could make them no charge. Terrific start! I always hated when people went with the Duggan figure. Way too stocky and arms too jacked. I felt like Valentine was the only one that works. Thanks for the tips mate, really appreciate you taking the time. That’s interesting to hear, as I’ve been reluctant to paint any heads for fear of ruining them. But I’ve also been reluctant to paint body’s for fear of them looking terrible - as I’ve seen some awful looking ones. But yours always look great, so I guess I’m getting help from the right place! 😂 So the key is using primer and adding water to the paint? I have a white spray primer, I think it might be humbrol - do you think that’ll be ok? I was looking back through the thread and saw that your artwork for Harley also had the clothesline action - i hadn’t recalled seeing that. So which parts would you have used? Yeah. I use a brush on primer to avoid drips or spraying errors. Also, make a good amount of your flesh paint mixture and put it in a small container with a cap on it. Then you could reapply coats a day at a time. I like to let the first one totally dry to avoid pulling the layer up with my brush. I want to say I either used the Razor legs like you. Now I'm getting motivated. I'm waiting to spot a cheap Harley on Ebay. Right now, he'd cost me $34. Seems like all of his figures are expensive!

Also, what's "Taboo" about Tuesdays? To me, it's a boring, mundane long work day where the weekend is still a pipedream. Computers aren't forbidden, or "taboo." I think it's more taboo to not use a computer, even in 2004-2005. I think the point they were trying to make was that the PPV was on a Tuesday instead of the usual Sunday. They should've blended it with the 1991 ppv, "This Taboo Tuesday in Texas" lol

Much like their change from The Great American Bash to The Bash, this was a similar idea for the ill-fated second installment... (Sorry for the crude photo editing. Used app on my phone) LADIES & GENTLEMEN WELCOME TO WWE BALLS! WE ARE LIVE FROM THE AMERICAN AIRLINES CENTER, RIGHT HERE IN DALLAS TEXAS! WITH THAT SAID, LET'S KICK OFF WWE BALLS WITH OUR OPENING CONTEST! That's one show I never want kicked off. Even worse than the brutal tap when you're trying to squeeze around the corner of a table lol

So...been messing around with some hasbros and decided to try something different for a Harley Race (rather than the usual Duggan body). This afternoon I made a peg using a screw so that the head fits tightly and can pop on & off, mainly so that I don’t have to mold a neck! 😂 Obviously still need to paint the attire, and should probably do the head to get it to match the body skin tone better. Be interested to hear your thoughts. To be honest, I say to the very opposite. One of the worst mistakes I've ever made was painting faces when I didnt have to. Do you think he wins title #2 at SummerSlam 93? Or does he simply slide into what Luger ended up doing through Mania 10? I could see Vince giving him another title run during that time period. His first run was subpar so why not give another go and see what happens. I agree. And I dont know if it's just me, but as a 3rd grader back in 1990, Warrior as champ was a big deal. Him and Hulk were 1:1 with merch and every kind of likeness had them both wearing the title. Yes, business was beginning to slip, but it would not been any different had Hogan retained at WM6. It was just time for that era. As for WMX, maybe Warrior takes it at SummerSlam 93, then Mania X is the same coin flip but players in different roles. Yoko takes the belt from Warrior in the first match with Mr. Perfect shenanigans, leading to Bret taking the belt in the second match, 1) to protect Warrior and 2) Yoko goes down in infamy by winning and losing the strap on two consecutive WrestleMania's, leading to him being embarrassed with a chip on his shoulder, feuding with the Hitman in a series of unsuccessful return matches on the UK tour before sliding over to Undertaker, and Bret moves on to Owen. Also, Warrior gets out of the title picture to settle with up with Hennig in a semi-main program.

It was a strange time to be a Warrior fan. He had just vanished yet again and there was no explanation for it. You'd have him in some sporadic advertising into the first few months of 1993 then that was it. Back then, we had to dig through the PWI mags to get some kind of scoop. I was hoping for Warrior to appear on the U.S.S. Intrepid to slam Yoko in his '91 Rumble gear lolIf he stayed past 92 I can definitely see him being the guy who slammed Yoko on the Intrepid. Do you think he wins title #2 at SummerSlam 93? Or does he simply slide into what Luger ended up doing through Mania 10?
