If more preorders come before series 1 is shipped it’s bc a factory is asking for more money and holding figs ransom. Yeah, this sorta stuff does unfortunately happen with Asian factories from time to time. A company I worked for several years ago, tried saving money on getting some stuff printed in Asia that easily could have been printed domestically. We paid. They claimed it ended up costing more than initially quoted. Asked for more money. My company asked for proof of what went wrong/why it cost more money. They wouldn't answer those questions and said if we didn't pay, they were going to just destroy everything. We come to find out, they never even printed it in the first place. The company lost the money, our production person almost lost their job and we all lost our year end bonuses.

Do you know how IP laws work? Of course. My point being they are not marketed as being EXACTLY like the little toys you had as a kid. So you shouldn't expect them to be. This is a bad faith argument. Just because a company doesn't say something verbatim using a company's name they legally can't mention in marketing, doesn't mean they weren't implying what these are supposed to be. Most of us are smart enough to realize this. Jay White shouldn't be half a head taller than 95% of Hasbros or Chella's own subsequent releases. The fact that Dynamite is noticeably shorter than their last 2 male releases shows Chella knew their scale is off and was worthy of adjusting to fit better within the original Hasbros. I might be the loudest person in this particular thread about scale, but go into other social media groups and you'll see I'm not the only person critiquing this issue.

They're marketed as "retros" not "just like Hasbros". Do you know how IP laws work?

I'm not talking about scaling in terms of the way Mattel tries to scale figures to actual real world heights. We're talking about the figures being relatively all the same height, which most Hasbro's were. Jay White's Chella is almost as tall as Andre and Giant Gonzalez. He towers over every Hasbro and Retro sans the ones I mentioned and Diesel and Braun on the Retro side. Well yeah, they're not Hasbro ... so they don't have to be scaled the same ... just look the same. Same with Zombie. His won't be the same height either. Nor should anyone care. They're toys that sit on a shelf. Having them not scaled the same as a Hasbro only hurts ones own personal OCD. These are sold as figures to fit into Hasbro collections hence the packaging mimicking the originals and some of the figures mimicking the originals' poses. I spent $35-40 on each figure. To say I shouldn't care, when posting on the nerdiest of the nerds message board, about something I spent money on is odd.

Anyone else find it funny people complain about scaling/proportions when Hasbro style looks nothing like a human being to begin with? I'm not talking about scaling in terms of the way Mattel tries to scale figures to actual real world heights. We're talking about the figures being relatively all the same height, which most Hasbro's were. Jay White's Chella is almost as tall as Andre and Giant Gonzalez. It’s also valid to discuss the release dates, especially when they keep shifting with no acknowledgement they are moving. One might think that’s because he’s hoping we won’t notice they keep sliding further away Release dates and product information is acceptable. Speculating someone’s motivation is not. Please respect the thread or make your own and watch it get removed. Maybe ZTS hasn't acknowledged dates moving because dates haven't moved? They're still scheduled to be released in February which was his last announced release date. People have speculated themselves into a tizzy over one word choice attempting to create a gotcha moment.

I received Dynamite today as well as Jay White last week from RSC. Overall, this is a good effort from Chella on Dynamite. As you can see, he's a smidge taller than Davey. Not as bad as Chella's other recent offerings. The cape is really nice. The body sculpt is a little off though. I think the wide stance of the legs is throwing the proportions off. The shoulders could probably also be a little wider too. I like the head sculpt and head size. It fits really well with the Hasbros. Jay White is just too big. Overall, the figure is really nice if you can look past the scaling issue. Chella really needs to work on their scale consistency. He's slightly taller than Hayabusa, which I believe makes him Chella's tallest figure thus far. The biggest issues with scale are obviously the head, but also the feet which I'm going to attempt to correct in the upcoming weeks. If you measure from the sole of the boot to the top of the foot, it's almost twice the size of Dynamite. And it's about 3 times the size of the Hasbro Davey and Chella Hayabusa. I'm probably going to slice off a good 1/8" to 1/4" off the bottom of Jay's boots to lower the height and I might even chop a bit off his head and re-sculpt the hair.

I'm not too worried about Dynamite's height. If you look at the feet, Dynamite is positioned closer to the camera. I think they're a little closer in height than that photo is showing. But we shall see...

My favorite part about Dynamite is they sculpted the wrists bands, but didn't paint the detail just like the Davey Boy hasbro. Great little homage to original. The faux/emulated sparkle on the cape came out way better than I initially thought it would. There's tons of loose pics on their website below. www.chellatoys.net/product-page/official-dynamite-kid-action-figure

I get the feeling this is going to end up being too tall like the Hayabusa and Jay White. Something about the body seems off. I think the body might be too thick from the knees up and the lack of neck is adding to that effect. It's not awful, but the final height is going to be the deciding factor for me whether I buy it or not. Hayabusa was too tall and the Jay White I just received is even slightly taller than Hayabusa.

I think the ones you mentioned that look like a child made them, are all the ones he does for his monthly club. I do know he makes at least 15-20 each for his club, and from what I've seen, those tend to look a little more rushed and sloppy than the one-offs you mentioned that he nailed. what do you mean by his monthly "club"? surely if he's a customiser, he would want to take pride in his work and make the effort to make the figures look the best they can? if he's capable of making some awesome figures, why not spend that much time on the rest? I don't know what this club is about, but if it involves members subscribing to see his work, figures like that Demento do nothing to inspire confidence that his ability is worth spending money on
Not to get too into the weeds about this, but yeah he has a private club where he makes 1 figure a month. From what I remember, he was unhappy with the lack of the responses on his social media, so he basically took his ball and went home, set up a private twitter for his club where people "truly appreciate his work". Now call me crazy, but if you want people to see and appreciate your work, you don't put it behind a paywall account. Anyway, he makes up to like 25-30 figures a month for his club and the people who repost their figures seem to like them, so good for them I guess. He's capable of doing great work, but the club figures always look rushed to me. To be fair, he mentioned in one of his rants yesterday that the Damien Demento was a reject figure and he just sent them out to his club members for free since he wasn't happy with it. He's a prickly fella. I like looking at his work and was sad he went behind the paywall. I understand it's frustrating to have a bunch of followers and it feels like nobody is buying your stuff. But as someone who has nearly 2K followers on IG, maybe like 5% of those followers actually buy stuff from me. I'm not going to punish the rest of my followers just because they're interested in what I do but don't wanna to buy my stuff. That's just weird to me.

sorry but having looked at some of Wulf's work, it's hard to tell they're all by the same person!! some figures he's showing are absolutely nailed - Butch Reed, Jake Roberts, Adrian Street (though he should have a smiling face) and Big John Studd to name a few are just awesome but then you look at figures like that Demento, or Busick, or even the Road Warriors and it just looks like a child made them I think the ones you mentioned that look like a child made them, are all the ones he does for his monthly club. I do know he makes at least 15-20 each for his club, and from what I've seen, those tend to look a little more rushed and sloppy than the one-offs you mentioned that he nailed.

NECA truly has the worst shipping service of any major company I've ordered from. The shipping label for my SDCC Channel 6 was printed on 11/24 and hasn't been updated since. I think I went three weeks between the Danny loot crate shipping label being printed and finally leaving their warehouse. Do they have like 1 person shipping all this out?

I stopped listening when the ads became unbearable and I'm just not ponying up extra money for their ad free shows when there are SO MANY podcasts out there. I get they need to be paid and it's a business and all, but it really seemed like once they launched the premium option, they initially made the ads worse. Bruce has become almost a parody of himself anyway.

Wulf is a good artist but for whatever reason, he thinks since he was the first person to do Hasbro related art (which I'm not sure if that's even true or not), everyone is "ripping him off" and he's become quite bitter about it. His customs ideas are creative, but they can get pretty sloppy as that guy was pointing out.

All the retrofig talk got my entrepreneurial juices flowing… I’m thinking of starting an eFig company, where you can purchase a virtual eBox and fill it with eFigs! Prices of eFigs will vary depending on fabricated exclusivity! If you buy too many eFigs they could become eDamagrd in your eBox so you will either have to get another eBox or replace the eFig if you want it to keep its eMOC value! You’ll be able to eTrade eFigs with other eCollectors in the eCommunity, trade fees based on total value of eTransaction! Who would be the best selling eFig of ALL TIME?! You're too late.

Har har. So sorry I'm just being positive about a line I'm excited for and not a miserable, negative prick like 75% of this thread. Hey man, there’s nothing wrong with being hyped about the line and looking forward to the figures. There’s also nothing wrong with showing criticism towards how it’s being handled. You just seem to take it personally when people express their issues with the line. We've already been over this a million times, but I'll say it one last time. If you're going to critique something in this thread but not another thread for a similar product, I'm going to say something. If you're going to say something blatantly false, I'm going to say something. That's not taking something personal. That's asking for accountability on views, pointing out the hypocrisy or completely incorrect statements. If you have a problem with that, I don't know what to tell you.

I wonder if guster will let me use his employee discount when the Cardona/Gage two pack goes up. Har har. So sorry I'm just being positive about a line I'm excited for and not a miserable, negative prick like 75% of this thread.
