As has been pointed out you've done a great job here for a second RP and you've shown a propensity for swift improvement. Now there's not a lot I can say that hasn't already been said so I'll focus on something small that is probably only bothering me, and that is how cliche the flashback was. If you want to drive home the idea of trust issues then you need something that actually impacts the reader, getting beaten up because a friend bails doesn't exactly do that. It's not something that a lot of people would think of while writing which is why I bring it up because it's these kinds of small things, such as judging the level of drama that you need to use for a certain situation, is one of those things that separates the top tier from the rest of the roster.

I quite enjoyed this, you took a risk and tried something a little different, something that isn't always easy even for the most experienced of fedder. There isn't a lot I can say that hasn't already been said but I would keep an eye on your dialogue. However brief it was in this piece I felt the dialogue fell short, especially in comparison to the rest of the RP. You need to focus on making it feel natural and in touch with the rest of the RP's flow, nail that down and build off of what you showed here and you'll continue to impress.

Knocking, continuous, unending, shouts and screams. Almost feels like she’s knocking at his very soul. But no, not his soul, simply the bathroom door. Though the pain in his head is the same when it’s all said and done.
Emily Hall: Trace! Trace get her out of the damn bathroom!
They think he made a mistake letting her stay, but he doesn’t make mistakes, it’s not his nature. Last mistake he made almost cost him everything – Alexa, his health, his career… no, he’s not in the habit of making mistakes anymore. It’s a good thing he’s smart enough to make that claim a truth, not everybody has that luxury. That’s a shame really, for them anyway.
Emily Hall: For f**k’s sake!
Trace hears the pounding of feet on the stairs long before she makes her entrance, and he tries hard to remember that this was the right decision, that in this rare act of kindness he is doing something pure. That’s a difficult thing to remember however when a seventeen year old girl is screaming at you the moment she storms into his office, interrupting the precious time he has set aside to scouting out his Superbrawl opponents.
Emily Hall: Will you do something about your precious house guest? She’s been in that shower for twenty minutes!
He manages to avoid thinking about why a nineteen year old girl would be in the shower for twenty minutes, for the most part anyway, and turns his attention away from the five separate monitors he’s got set up, each one showing different matches or highlight videos. The average man wouldn’t be able to follow each match, let alone take notes and formulate strategies from them, but Trace Demon was not your average man, though whether that could be considered a good thing was most definitely up for debate.
Trace Demon: Just chill out, it’s not like you’re going anywhere.
Emily Hall: I’ll have you know I’ve got a date, which is why I need to use the bloody shower!
Trace Demon: You’ve got a date? You, little miss heartbreak, has a date? The girl who spent a month avoiding leaving the house except for school has an actual date with an actual human being?
Emily Hall: Shut up.
Trace Demon: Seriously, I’m interested.
It’s hard to tell if he’s serious about anything when every word he says is tinged with undertones of sarcasm.
Emily Hall: Her name’s Lexi, and she works in Starbucks.
Trace Demon: Her? Wait, you’re telling me you’re gay?
Emily Hall: Can we please drop the joke where you pretend not to know, it wasn’t funny the first dozen times you used it and it’s certainly not funny on the hundredth and fifth time.
Trace Demon: Okay one, it’s really sad if you’ve counted. Two, it’s a good joke and it gets a lot of laughs whenever I use it in the office. Not sure if they’re laughing for real or if it’s because they’re scared of me, but I digress. And three, she works at Starbucks?
Emily Hall: What’s wrong with Starbucks?
Trace Demon: I’m not even going to grace that with an answer.
For a man like Trace Demon, who only accepts that coffee should be taken black with one sugar, Starbucks was everything that’s wrong with the modern world of capitalization and commercialization. He of course ignored the fact that, being a businessman, he was part of that world and instead hung on to the belief that he was still an anarchist even if he’d long since lost that edge.
Emily Hall: Just get her out of the shower.
Trace Demon: Can’t you even try to get along with her, she’s not going anywhere.
Emily Hall: Yeah, you made that perfectly clear when you told her she could move in. Just because you’ve got some weird paternal instinct going on doesn’t mean I’ve got to like whatever stray you bring into the house.
He had expected Alexa to be the difficult one to convince, but she’d been relatively accepting of having a nineteen year old runaway move into their spare room. It likely had something to do with him letting the sexually abusive father out of the old bag, the moment he’d dropped that into the argument she’d softened. It of course helped that as crazy and unpredictable he was Alexa trusted him wholly. Emily on the other hand had found just about every problem she could. This was just the latest in her crusade to be a rebellious teen.
Trace Demon: Give her a chance, just because she’d different doesn’t make her bad, just because you don’t like her attitude doesn’t make her your enemy.
Emily Hall: No, it just makes a shower hogging pain in my ass. And I’m sure you won’t be preaching about cooperation when your turning your back on all these idiots teaming with you.
Trace Demon: You… have a mildly accurate point, but it doesn’t take away from the grandiose nature of my good deed, nor does it take away from the point I’m trying to make.
Emily Hall: If she doesn’t get out of that shower in five minutes I will storm in there and strangle her with the shower hose, you got me?
As she storms off back upstairs Trace can think of only one thing. Where in the world did she get her temper from?
< *** >
One Week Earlier
She’d turned up at his doorstep without any kind of warning. Okay, not his doorstep exactly, rather she’d broken into his house and nearly gotten her head caved in by his baseball bat wielding step-sister. Certainly not the smoothest of entrances but he’d never been one for doing things smoothly, why should he expect anyone else to do the same?
Trace Demon: How’s the head?
Caitlyn Lucia: It’s f*****g painful, obviously.
He’d met her in the desert basically, just standing there on the side of the road. He wasn’t in the habit of picking up strays but he was bored and needed something to make the long car ride back that little bit more interesting and she seemed like the ticket. In the end they’d bonded, he’d told her about his twisted nature and she about her abusive step-father before she stole his car and his wallet. He’d seen it coming, leaving her a note with his address on and a simple message that when she needed it, he’d be there to help. Those who didn’t know him all that well would claim it wasn’t like him but those who did, like Emily and Alexa, knew that he was always hard to predict and they weren’t going to start trying to work him out now.
Caitlyn Lucia: That girl’s got a bloody swing on her.
Trace Demon: Yeah well, Emily’s family, we’re all a bit heavy handed when we want to be. Runs in the blood.
Both theirs and those whose blood they spill.
Trace Demon: So, you want to tell me why you showed up now? Gave you my details a month back now and you’re only just taking me up on my offer?
She shifts in her seat uncomfortably, unsure what to tell him. He had witnessed first-hand that there was a vulnerability to her beneath the attitude and the red hoodie and as hard as she tried to hide it from him she couldn’t, he saw through her like she wasn’t even there to begin with.
Trace Demon: Either you tell me or you’re done here, you can go back to whatever mess you’ve come from. I want to help you, wouldn’t have given you my address otherwise, but I’m not having you here if you can’t be the littlest bit honest with me.
Caitlyn Lucia: I drove out to Chicago-
Trace Demon: In my car.
Caitlyn Lucia: Yeah, in your car, sorry about that, kind of broke down just outside Chicago so I don’t think you’re getting it back now. Anyway, like I said, I headed out to Chicago because I’ve got an aunt out there, I was gonna stay with her for a while until mom dumped that bunghole. But then they found me, I think my aunt called mom… b***h couldn’t keep her mouth shut.
Trace Demon: He came looking for you?
She gives a little nod.
Caitlyn Lucia: Tried dragging me back home, but no way am I going back there, not with him. So I ran again, and I thought about the one place that he’d never come looking for me. In a strangers house in Los Angeles, that stranger just so happening to be you.
Trace Demon: So what’re we talking, you’re looking for protection from your step-father, someone to make sure he can’t get to you, that it?
Caitlyn Lucia: I’m just looking for a fresh start.
Trace Demon: Well that my girl is very much the right answer.
She looks at him and finds him smiling, an honest to god smile this time, not one of those snarky underhanded smiles she’d seen him give half a dozen times when they were in that car together.
Trace Demon: I’m not here to play protector, not to anybody. Alexa, Emily, they both know how to handle themselves, they’d never come running to me if they had a real problem. Eliza, when she’s grown and kicking ass then she’ll be the same. Now don’t get me wrong, if anyone close to me needed my help then I’d be there no question, but if they ever do I know it’s serious, it’s something they couldn’t do on their own because they are in control of their own lives. You stay here, you’ve got to be the same, I told you to come here because I saw something in you, you could be somebody, but I’m no babysitter.
Caitlyn Lucia: I don’t need protecting.
Trace Demon: I know. We’ve got a spare room upstairs, get whatever stuff you’ve got with you and chuck it in there. The rules of the house are simple, don’t bring trouble to it… that’s about it.
Caitlyn Lucia: So you’re letting me stay, just like that, you’re not even going to ask your girlfriend or your sister.
Trace Demon: One thing you’ll have to learn, I don’t ask, I decide. I know what’s best.
Caitlyn Lucia: Little bit arrogant there, don’t you think.
Trace Demon: Arrogant? I’m not arrogant red hood, I just know how damn good I really am.
< *** >
Jason Anders: She’s good at this, if you haven’t figured that out by now.
Trace Demon: I had, but thanks for pointing out the obvious.
The pair stands beside Trace’s car in the parking lot of the WFWF’s official headquarters, a large unspectacular building on the outskirts of Los Angeles. Trace looks up towards the clear blue sky as he takes a drag on the cigarette between his lips. He exhales, watching the smoke drift off into the ether.
Jason Anders: I don’t know what else needs to happen before you stop trying to provoke her, you’re not making things easy here.
Trace Demon: How dare you accuse me of provoking anybody, I’m just going about my business, she’s the one who’s got it out for me.
It’s hard to tell whether even he believes that, of course with the delusions of grandeur that he undeniably suffers from its very likely that in his mind he’s the victim in this little game he has going with Lila Sleater.
Jason Anders: Stop interrupting her every chance you get, stop trying to make decisions just because you know it’ll antagonise her and for god’s sake stop wearing a hat around the office that says Lila Sleater sucks on it.
Trace Demon: You don’t like my hat?
Jason Anders: The fact that that is what you’ve taken from this is deeply worrying to someone who is deeply involved with your legal matters.
Trace chuckles, patting Anders on the back just that little bit too hard and taking another drag of the cigarette.
Trace Demon: You have got to chill out Anders, I know what I’m doing and if my actions ruffle a few feathers then I know I’m onto a good time, and you’ve got to have a good time when you’re living on borrowed time.
Jason Anders: What are you talking about?
Trace Demon: We both know I’m not going to be running this place forever, the WFWF is a revolving door of owners, bookers and wrestlers and that’s never gonna change. People turn on you on the flip of a coin, unable to see the good you’re doing for them. And I’m not one for overstaying my welcome, when my time comes I’ll walk out that door and I won’t ever look back.
Jason Anders: You’ve been here for how long now Trace, eight years? Don’t think I’m questioning you or anything but I’ve got the slightest feeling you’re full of s**t.
Trace nearly loses it there and then, with laughter, not violence as you would expect from him. It’s not often anyone, let alone a weasel of a man like Jason Anders has the balls to speak to him like that. Can’t say he likes it too much but it’s certainly amusing.
Trace Demon: My times just that bit longer than everybody else’s is all, eight years though man… eight years is a long time to be in one place. When I started all I had was a drug addiction and some questionable issues with reality. Now I’ve got a family, money, success, hell I’ve got everything. You’d think that’d mean I’d grown, but I’m still unable to enter a tag team match without wanting to turn on my partner and make a big flashy show of it. As long as I’m doing this I don’t think that’s ever going to change. There’s no trust in the ring Anders, you’ve got be a cocky son of a b***h to succeed in there, can’t be friends with anyone, hard to turn that off outside of it.
Jason Anders: Hence the hat?
Trace tips the front of his custom baseball cap to Anders. He refused to take it off when they left the building.
Trace Demon: Hence the hat.
Jason Anders: Lila’s not here to try ruining you Trace, as much as we thought that was the case, maybe if you try working with her you can actually do something big.
Trace Demon: Jason my boy-
Fully ignoring the fact that Anders is fifteen years older than him there.
Trace Demon: Turns out teamwork just isn’t my bag.
He takes a final drag and then stubs the cigarette out with his boot. He savoured it for what it was; he limited himself to one a month nowadays, just to remind himself that the bad could so often feel oh so good.
Trace Demon: Now you coming back in, I haven’t shown my hat off to the marketing guys yet, maybe they’ll want to make a big product line out of them.
Jason Anders: I’m going to say out here for a bit longer, that office gets clammy ever since you threw that photo frame at the air conditioning unit.
Trace Demon: What can I say, I get agitated when the Maple Leafs play. Just don’t enjoy the fresh air too much, air conditioning repair guy isn’t coming for another two weeks, not after the last one… well, we all know what happens when you insult my hat now, so that was a learning experience.
Trace again tips the cap to him and heads back off towards the office. Jason Anders watches him go and pulls out his phone, quickly typing out an e-mail to the one and only Lila Sleater – thought about the offer yet? Jason Anders: Sorry Trace, but you’re right, teamwork isn’t your bag at all.
< *** >
Here I stand, this same place once again. Forced to work with men I can barely even tolerate in order to stand victorious. It’s almost become a cliché at this point to throw a man like me, notorious for his inability to play well with others, into this kind of situation. I get it, everybody denies it but they all really want to see a car wreck once in their life and this… this is the safest way to do it. Good for you all I guess but don’t you ever feel guilty? Don’t you see what you’ve done? You’ve put not one, not two but seven men in danger just to see me do what I do best. Because we all know that’s what’s going down here, you’ve not come to watch me team with three of my opponents at Superbrawl, you’ve come in the hopes that I will destroy them before we even get there. Well guess what, you might just get your wish.
Now I could stand here and talk about my team mates for hours. I could stand here and talk about my opponents for just as long. But this match, it’s not really about any of them, this match isn’t about the men who I’ll beat at Superbrawl and it isn’t about the men that have been fed to us in order to make us look good before the big night. No, this match is about me, more importantly, it’s about trying to punish me. That might sound arrogant, but it’s not arrogance when it’s true. You all saw Revolution, you all saw Lila Sleater make this match with vitriol and vindication in her voice, you all saw the pleasure she took in forcing me into the ring with men determined to tear this title from its rightful place around my wait. If that’s how she gets her kicks then so be it, I’m not one to stop a woman getting off, hell it’s one of the things I do best. But when that comes at the detriment of other men’s health… well some might say a succubus has to be slain before she brings down a kingdom.
Now some might also say that I’m getting ahead of myself by claiming that it is everybody else who is in danger when the truth is, at least in their eyes, that I am the one who should be fearful. It’s no secret that I’ve made some enemies and it’s no secret that a lot of them are in this eight man tag team match. Shawn Malakai, Crow, Mak Cross, Cam Nitta, I’m not particularly fond of any of you and I expect you feel the same way about me. Thunder, we work well together and you’re the only person on this team other than myself that I can even partially rely on to do any kind of work. Devilkiller and Dex… well actually I don’t have any strong feelings about either of you beyond how ridiculous your names are and how weird I find the two of you. Which, coming from me, makes you pretty damn weird. But here’s the thing, here’s how I know that I am not the one in danger here despite the numbers being pitted against me in whatever conspiracy you want to put this in.
I’m simply better than all of you. You can call me the best in the world if you want, you can call me an all-time great if you feel like it or you can simply accept me as a grand slam champion. None of that matters. All that matters is that I know I am the best damn thing in the WFWF today and more than that I am an expert in outthinking every single one of you. So you’re all gonna come into this match thinking it’s a chance for you to put the champion out of action and make things easier come Superbrawl but the truth is I’ve already got plans to deal with each and every one of you. It doesn’t matter if it’s one man or seven, I know how to beat you all in the ring and in your mind and I will have no problem doing exactly that come Revolution. So as the clock ticks down to Superbrawl what you need to start thinking about isn’t how you beat a king, it isn’t even how you defeat a champion… it’s simply about one thing.
How do you survive… when the devil comes-a-calling?

I got involved with roughkut for a little bit with the XWA and honestly there are a lot of terrible people on that site but there's also some decent guys, at least there were at the time. I'm not sure how much desire I have to be on there again personally but I'm happy to take the dip for the sake of the fed.
One thing I always feel the need to bring up with affiliating with other feds is that we need to make sure we know what kind of guys we can expect. I've seen some feds that have an absolutely terrible OOC atmosphere to it because the people are just terrible, whereas here I think we're pretty good right now. So if people want to affiliate with other feds then we have to make sure it's not going to bring in people who'll drive off others with their attitude.

SCWA NEWS: The Clash weekend cards, Best in the World update, Free to View numbers- This weekend SCWA will present their big The Clash weekend, including the first SCWA iPPV. Here is what has been announced for the cards so far, though they are of course subject to change. One thing to note is that SCWA have added a triple threat number one contenders match to The Clash, as announced exclusively on their website. As expected Chris Hammers has been added to the tournament and he’ll be joined by two rising stars who seem to be in the middle of a push – Jason Williams and Harry Carraway. - While we don’t have concrete viewing numbers for the first two SCWA Free to View shows due to them being broadcast exclusively through SCWA.COM the word from those involved in producing the shows is that they’ve seen a large rise in the number of unique visitors to the website since the shows went online meaning they’re getting people watching these shows who have never visited the website before and likely never bought an SCWA show before. Whether this translates into big figures for The Clash will be interesting to see.

Your thoughts? Thinking of revamping the roster pics, yet again. xD Other than the fact that the border needs some refining I like it.

LIVE from Charlotte, North Carolina!Four Man Tag Main Event!Trace Demon, Thunder, Crow & Shawn Malakai vs. Mak Cross, Cam Nitta, Devilkiller & DexDoes this match really need any introducing? It does, well screw you. This is the final stop on the road to Superbrawl, that’s right, in just one show’s time we’ll be standing on the grandest stage in the WFWF where grudges will be settled and wars won. The main event of Superbrawl, arguably the most important match of the year, will consist of a five person hell in a cell match for the WFWF World Heavyweight Championship. Now what better way to make sure the competitors in that match are ready than throw them all together and force them to work together? Of course as you’ll see Scarlett Quinn isn’t involved but just read on and that’ll make sense, but for the other four men they’ll have to do something unthinkable if they want to walk into Superbrawl with all the momentum, they’ll have to work together, but is that going to be all that easy? Thunder and Shawn Malakai have been at each others throats since Scars & Stripes, Crow is so weird that nobody wants to hang around with him and Trace Demon… well everybody hates him and if that wasn’t enough he’s been known to betray just about everybody.
This of course means that their opponents should have an easy time of it, but a win is just as crucial for them as it is for the World Heavyweight Championship competitors. Mak Cross and Cam Nitta are hurtling towards a big multi-man match of their own as they challenge for the returning WFWF World Tag Team Championships in a match that includes recent enemies Slanted & Enchanted. Devilkiller is seeking to prove himself as the ultimate hardcore wrestler after being called out by Tommy Staxx while Dex has stepped up, and possibly stepped further down the rabbit hole, after showing he’s got the balls to challenge a legend like ZMaster with both of their masks on the line. These four men might not be in the Superbrawl main event, nor will they be walking out as the World Heavyweight Champion, but a victory at Superbrawl is enough to start a legend or break a rising career. Momentum is key, and for these eight men there is only one chance to walk into Superbrawl with a go-home victory under their belt. The only things that stand in their way? Egos, arrogance… and each other. Former Friends CollidePenny Shannon vs. Scarlett QuinnScarlett Quinn and Penny Shannon’s careers here in the WFWF are almost defined by each other. Coming into the WFWF as Scarlett’s trainer, tag team partner and mentor Penny Shannon proved to be an effective influence on her young charge. The two were unbeatable inside the ring and inseparable outside of it. For the longest time it appeared like they would be one of the long-time dominating forces to come through the company. But then Trace Demon happened. After a month of embarrassing, humiliating and brutalizing Scarlett Quinn Trace Demon did the one thing many considered unthinkable – he turned Penny Shannon against her. Penny cost Scarlett the WFWF World Heavyweight Championship and since then this match has been inevitable. Scarlett and Penny have waged war and now, one week after Penny again jumped Scarlett just as she had Trace Demon in her grasp, that war will come to a head inside the ring just one week before Scarlett challenges for the WFWF World Championship at Superbrawl. Whether there will truly be a winner in this match remains to be seen but one thing is for certain, it’s going to be intense and it’s going to be personal. A friendship broken, trust destroyed, a bloody trail left behind them, the history of Penny Shannon and Scarlett Quinn may have been built on respect, but their future will be bathed in blood. The ReturnYukio Blaze vs. Tommy StaxxDon’t be fooled by the obvious, the subtitle doesn’t just refer to one man. However let’s deal with the obvious first, yes Tommy Staxx is indeed making his in-ring return having shocked the world by appearing and challenging Devilkiller to a Monster’s Ball match. Staxx made an impression in his last run by giving numerous champions and legends a run for their money and later allied himself with one of the most violent and heinous men in WFWF history, Phillip Schneider. He’s learnt from the best, both in defeat and in partnership and now he’s back in the WFWF looking to finally live up to his potential. Now the other return is much more metaphorical, Yukio Blaze has returned to the hallowed winners circle, and not only the winners circle but the champions roll call. Last week Blaze did what nobody thought he could do and defeated three other men to become the new WFWF International Champion. Yukio has long been considered past his prime but with championship gold now around his waist few could argue that he’s got all the stars lined up for a return to form and with his Hall of Fame induction, and a match with Joe Bishop, on the horizon things have never looked better for Your Random Hero. Of course with one of these men set to have their momentum stopped dead a fairytale story might just end before it begins, but for the other not only will it continue, it’ll flourish. Singles ActionChase Landon vs. Joe BishopThere are few with as much on the line at Superbrawl as these two men. Yes, titles will be defended. Yes, masks will be risked. Yes, pride will be at stake. But what these two men have up for grabs is so much more important to them than anything else – their metaphorical ascent. At Superbrawl both Chase Landon and Joe Bishop have what could be considered the biggest matches of their careers on the biggest stage of them all, a victory could mean the next step up the ladder, a loss will be a big kick down it. For Chase Landon a multi-team tag team championship match lies in wait as he teams with Jayson Garrett in what has to be one of the most misfit tag teams we’ve seen in a long time. Joe Bishop on the other hand will get one more chance at revitalising a career he’s begun to consider static as he faces off with Hall of Famer Yukio Blaze in a match that will now be contested for the International Championship. A win at Superbrawl would not only cement both of these men as top prospects but stars in their own rights while a loss puts them at risk of facing a hard slog to return to the promised land, if they get that chance at all. This match might not those kind of ramifications but it does have momentum on the line, and sometimes that’s just as important. Handicap MatchJayson Garrett vs. Mason Dixon & Kyle MatthewsAt Superbrawl the WFWF World Tag Team Championships will make their grand return to the company in a four way tag team contest that includes the team of Jayson Garrett and Chase Landon. Now you might be saying right now “wait, why isn’t Chase Landon involved then” and for those who are there’s a very simple explanation… Jayson Garrett is a super arrogant rich jerk. Yeah, we said it. Jayson Garrett, at least by his own claims, doesn’t need Chase Landon to get the victory, he thinks he can do it all for his team and now we’re giving him a chance to do exactly that. Opposite him stands a very inexperienced team who will also be competing in said four way title match, and by inexperienced we mean they’ve never teamed together before. In fact Kyle Matthews only made his debut last week and while Mason Dixon has impressed many since his debut he’s still got the unenviable task of walking into Superbrawl alongside a man he barely knows. This match will test both sides, Garrett has to prove he can do the job of two men AGAINST two men, while Dixon and Matthews have to blend together and work as a team without any time to really practice. Good luck guys, we don’t envy you. RP Deadline: Sunday March 16th, 2014 at 11:59 PM EST Promo Deadline: Wednesday March 19th, 2014 at 11:59 PM EST

Now it might be the fact I've spent the past few hours drinking and find myself in the weird position of playing peacemaker but as far as I can tell everyone has admitted where they were at fault and it's quite clear how we can all avoid this happening in the future. Better communication when people write characters not their own, a more peaceful approach to problems with others work (I don't have high hopes for that one) and most important people should want to write their own matches and segments specifically to make sure things like this never happen.

International Champion Kevin Hart definitely had the momentum behind him but there was no counting out Daniel Sinn, especially now that he’s getting to shine as a heel. The two put on a fantastic technical wrestling bout with the story being Sinn showing off his new flashy streak, trying to outdo everything Hart did. This almost proved to be his undoing as Hart ended up locking in the Sharpshooter after Sinn missed with a top turnbuckle leaping knee drop only for Ace Bennett, who will challenge Kevin Hart in a rematch for the International Championship at The Clash, came to ringside. Hart lost his cool after Bennett’s recent attack on him and released the hold to go after Bennett. The self-professed “Only Real Wrestler” made a quick getaway but as soon as Hart turned his attention back to Daniel Sinn he was struck with a low blow followed up by The Original Sinn. Great match between two future main eventers, the perfect way to kick off the show.
- SCWA continued its trend of featuring a main event player in a squash as Mike Bockwinkel got the treatment this week, swiftly putting down Josh Skyfire with relative ease. Following the match Bockwinkel pledged to show everyone why he is the chosen one of professional wrestling by winning the SCWA’s inaugural Best in the World tournament next month. If the SCWA want to use that tournament to make a new ready-made feature star then Bockwinkel has to be high up the list.
- A big tag team contest which was mainly used to promote Chaz Classic’s SCWA World Heavyweight Championship defence against C.G. Gordo in three days’ time. You know what you’re going to get with a Moxley and Patton performance, they’ve got a fairly similar game plan every time they step in the ring (Patton wears them out, Moxley runs through the remains) and they stick to it because it works. As such Chaz and Daz had a very difficult time keeping up with them due to their lack of tag team experience and while it was definitely entertaining to watch it probably wasn’t much fun for the fan favourites. C.G. Gordo’s presence on commentary didn’t make things any easier for the pair but it did give him a chance to show off some character and there’s a good reason he’s the main talker of The Three Kings – he’s great at it. As you’d expect though he didn’t stick to commentary all the way through, taking the opportunity towards the end to deliver a brutal Impaler DDT to Chaz on the outside and making Daz easy pickings for his teammates. Daz put up a fight but ended up getting pushed from the top turnbuckle by Patton and was swiftly put away by the Moxicity. Crowd booed The Three Kings all the way up the ramp but there’s no denying they got the job done.
- Another fantastic main event and while it didn’t match last week’s bout between Jason Williams and Ace Bennett few matches could given the time they’re working with on these free to view shows. Now there’s a very good reason they call Jason Star the “Star-Maker” and that’s because it doesn’t matter who he’s facing, you know he’ll make them look great. Sam Kineval doesn’t need that though, he’s already great and if he wasn’t so young (he’s only 20) you’d be calling him the next World Champion by now. The one thing about Kineval’s offence that really gets the crowd into the action is that it looks so dangerous, every single move he does looks stiff enough that you cringe just a little bit, especially the insane flying knee drop he pulled off from the top turnbuckle here. Star held his own throughout, using his superior experience to control large portions of the match. A frantic ending saw Kineval counter a top turnbuckle hurricanrana DDT with a Northern Lights Suplex for a near fall. Kineval went for Perplexion but Star countered and hit the J Driller for an incredibly close near fall. Star wasted time recovering and then went for the J* but this time Kineval countered, hit the Chaos Death Shot and got the pinfall to close out the match and the show with a big victory.

I know you don't seem to think so, but this was very good for what it was. Did the lack of any real scene hurt it, sure, but for me what you've done here is proven that even when you're not at your best you're still an excellent monologue writer. I'm not going to spend too much time talking about this because we both know that you didn't have much time to spend on this but seriously, give yourself some credit. I know you won't have much time in the next few months but when you do I hope to see you back here at some point after Superbrawl because with pieces like these you just prove to me that you've still got plenty to offer.

Probably the strongest piece of writing I've seen from you so far man and for me it's obvious why. You cut out all the excess stuff about heaven and hell and secret experiments and you focused on the character and that's what I'm all about. Some people may not know this about me but I'm all about character, whether I think something I've read is great or not doesn't come down to whether I thought it had a great ending or whether I loved the pacing, it's predominantly about whether I liked the characters and whether I was invested in them. I'm not invested in Dex yet because for me there wasn't a character beneath all those gimmicky, out there back stories, this piece for me was a sign that you're going to change that. The writing still needs work, you could do with making your description feel more natural and work on making it flow better but for me this was a step in the right direction.

Okay first off that opening bit was excellent, probably because despite being short it said everything it needed to say. Not a single wasted word, no fancy crap, just a straight up mini-monologue that told me everything I needed to know about Yukio's, possibly both character's and writer's, mindset.
Now onto the main course. You're probably going to get tired of me saying this but I still have no idea how to give any kind of constructive criticism about your style because plainly put I just don't know how. However what I will say, and this is something I only kind of realized last week, but while I don't know how to criticize them I do know that I enjoy them. More than that, I'm thoroughly entertained by them. The style, the message, the weird jokey kind of self-narrative going on, I enjoy it all. There's a very good possibility that I enjoy it more than I enjoyed your RP's back when you used the traditional style of writing. That right there's impressive and if you can keep them as entertaining as the past two shows then I say keep going with this, because I think you've hit a hot streak.

So I'm finding it difficult to put into words what I thought of the actual roleplay. I mean there wasn't anything particularly wrong about the writing, but it just didn't entertain me all that much. It felt very rigid, like you were just kind of writing it because you thought it was a good way to change the character, not because you had any investment in it. It felt too much like a means to an end in that way. On top of that you didn't really nail the potential that the premise gave you. Dream sequences are hard to pull off at the best of times but it's even harder when you only go into it half way. The horror style characters worked for the style but you didn't do anything with setting or pace. Dreams are rarely rigid or linear, even when it's something simple such as walking around it's rarely just that, the setting is fluid, strange things happen that seem normal because it's a dream. You should have jumped on that, especially since we obviously weren't meant to believe that any of this was really happening.
Now onto my real problem, and it's a problem I've had for a while with your Crow RP's. You don't know your own character, you want him to be one thing but write him as something else. I've said it before, there's nothing wrong with having a multi-layered character but when those different layers involve the character being completely different to previous characterization it just feels weird. Your cult stuff never matches the stuff you do with Penny, the jokes you make never feel like they're coming from the same guy who makes these cryptic little speeches. It's like you don't know who you want Crow to be so you just make him whatever you want to suit the scene. Go read any of the top tier stuff and you'll see that no matter the context of the scene the character remains recognizable. They can act differently or try to pretend they're something other than what they are but when it comes down to it you know who the character is and that's all about the writing and the style. You need to nail that down before you start making broad sweeping changes to a character because if I read your RP and feel you don't know the character, whether you think you do or not, I'm not going to be invested.

There's not a lot for me to say about this. Basically I liked the opening, I enjoyed the monologue but the mid-section with Thunder and Robin just felt like filler, and not particularly exciting filler either. I mean it wasn't bad, it just didn't do anything for me. Still the monologue sold the match well, told us everything that we needed to know and why this is such a big match when you look at the history of the WFWF. For that I say good job, just in future when you're going to include these short scenes make sure they either serve a purpose or that they're entertaining enough for the purpose not to matter.

Yeah straight up I appreciate the story you're going for here, the context is there, there's some secondary context from a handlers point of view and you keep it firm and on point. It's still not natural enough for me, the entire thing feels quite blocky and maybe a little bit rushed, particularly when you threw in that closing paragraph as if you didn't have time to continue. It feels like a timing issue which we've all gone through, I don't know exactly how long you spent on this but for me it was a little hit and miss. The writing itself wasn't my bag but I dug the narration behind it and that's always been just as important to me as anything else.

So to clarify what's happening here, and I'm keeping it short, Yukio asked for an extension with a good reason but other guys in the match had already posted a RP. I said that if they were fine with letting him have the extension, since some might not due to the advantage extra time can give, then he could have it because, like I said, he had a good enough reason. So Bishop wasn't granting the extension, we were, he just kind of brought it up for the reasons he said.
Of course I am with Brennan on this one in that the owners alone should announce extensions.
Now since we're talking about extensions it's clear that we need to do some work on our extension policy. Back when we put in the hard work to reduce the time between cards and results, and I think we've succeeded to some degree there, I was pretty adamant about stopping extensions. That hasn't happened to the extent I would have liked so we'll have to look at it. I like the idea Brennan posted in the general discussion and I think it's worth considering. I'm also willing to listen to any other ideas people might have.

SCWA: Free to View Episode One 10/07/09; Exclusively on SCWA.COM
1. SCWA FREE TO VIEW TOURNAMENT QUARTER FINALS) Harry Carraway Defeated Jack Joseph in 12:42 with the Nightmare Driver. *** 2.) C.G. Gordo Defeated Eddy Valintino in 4:32 with the Cradle Pildedriver. DUD. 3.) Chaz Classic & Blazing Phoenix Defeated Lee Kineval, LyNN & Matt Dangerous in 15:32 when Classic used Remember That on Kineval. *** 4. SCWA FREE TO VIEW TOURNAMENT QUARTER FINALS) Jason Williams Defeated Ace Bennett in 26:32 with the Psycho Driver. ****1/2- The show kicked off with a special announcement as Duan Sanchez Sr., who has been working commentating duties since SCWA’s first show, announced that from now on he’d be pulling double duty as he was informed that morning that he was going to be the official SCWA commissioner with control over match making. I expect this announcement was made to give these Free to View shows a sense of importance to make sure that people will actually tune in.
- The opening match was the perfect way to kick things off with two young, up and coming stars getting let loose to put on a solid match. Carraway is unique in that he really throws his weight behind his impact moves and Joseph learnt that first hand today. It wasn’t easy for Carraway though, Joseph put up a great fight and continues to impress every single time and he’s slowly improving at drawing heat directly from the crowd as well. There was an excellent back and forth moment late in the match where it looked like either man could have picked up the win only for Carraway to rebound off of the ropes with one of the most vicious lariats ever, Joseph flipping out of his skin. Carraway followed up with the Nightmare Driver to pick up the win and advance in the tournament.
- C.G. Gordo picked up the squash victory tonight as the SCWA seek to showcase one of their stars to a possibly wider audience. Gordo ran through Valentino with little effort, throwing him about the place and looking good doing it. Valintino got in a little bit of offence but never looked like a threat as he was put away with the Cradle Piledriver. Following the match Gordo cut a promo on Chaz Classic, hyping the SCWA World Heavyweight Championship match at The Clash and promising to make all Three Kings champions.
- As if to follow up on C.G. Gordo’s message Chaz sent one of his own, though it took a little longer, had a lot more people involved and was definitely more competitive. The point of these free for all shows is about showcasing an array of talent and this match did exactly that. Chaz is the world champion and, as you’d expect, he shone and dragged Blazing Phoenix up to his level despite the pairing being little more than talent to put other teams over at this point. Opposite them were a trio of up and coming talent and with LyNN and Matt Dangerous being on the cusp of breaking through the tag team glass ceiling it made a lot of sense for Lee, who is still honing his craft, to take the fall. One particularly sequence of note was between LyNN and Chaz Classic, LyNN is known mostly for being a daredevil but he came into the SCWA as a technician and got to bust that out here, given the chance he’ll definitely be one to watch out for. Crowd popped loudly for the finish and went into a fever pitch when C.G. Gordo came out and stared Chaz down following the match.
- Ahead of the main event there was a video highlighting the four tournament participants competing on next week’s show – Jason Star, Sam Kineval, Kevin Hart and Daniel Sinn.
- Man, if one match could ever be defined as star making for two young wrestlers then this main event is definitely it. It’s like they gave Jason Williams and Ace Bennett nearly half an hour and told them that this was their one chance to make a name for themselves and they passed the test with flying colours because this is a definite match of the year candidate for sure. Both men have threatened to steal the show on recent cards, though Bennett has been more prominent, and it just kind of exploded tonight. Williams and Bennett got to show everything they’ve got and the fans ate it up, from the technical battle that opened the match to Ace Bennett arguing with fans about being the “Only Real Wrestler” to the absolutely crazy moment that Williams flew over the top rope and delivered a hurricane DDT to the outside, every single moment got people buzzing. The hurricane DDT turned the tide of the match and gave Williams plenty of momentum but he couldn’t capitalise as Bennett, rather against his claims of being a real wrestler, hit a low blow to buy himself some time. He fought back but Williams managed to avoid the Syracuse Drop on two separate occasions and ended up hitting a springboard Busaiku Knee Kick, followed by the Psycho Driver to cap off an outstanding main event. Standing round of applause for the two men following the match, a hell of a way to top off the first free for all show and with three to go we’re betting the SCWA are going to try and keep up this kind of momentum.
