Everybody wants to forget his wrestling days. He was one of the worst ever. He’s redeemed himself as a coach, and bringing up the A-Train days only undermines his credibility. Disagree. A-Train was his most pushed gimmick/character. He was involved in a big WrestleMania angle with the likes of Brock and 'Taker. He would've made for an awesome CE figure, IMO. Tensai was the bigger push, at least briefly (he beat Cena and Punk within a few weeks of debuting), but yeah A-Train was the longer, most well-known gimmick. And it was awful. Nobody cared about him or reacted to him, and he was always hanging around just below the main event like a bad smell for what was really only a year or two but it seemed like decades. He was the sore thumb of the first brand split SmackDown roster. I’m sure he’s a lovely guy, but he was so bad as a performer. Lesnar, Angle, the Guerreros, Edge, Mysterio, Matt Hardy v1… and then there’s Albert, with a new name and useless as ever. God bless Heyman, he tried, but there was just nothing to work with.

An authority in your head only. What a load of nonsense and that says a lot when it’s one of your posts 😄 Sorry, I don’t remember you at all. Maybe your previous account name would ring a bell, but I can’t guarantee it.

I’d be very surprised. Lita was never the best at wrestling matches, even in her prime. Her moonsault almost went the way of Brock’s SSP several times. I think it’d be a huge risk her having big singles fights in 2022. That said, the fact that it’s even a possibility and they’re building it up is pretty awesome. Wrong on so many levels lita was actually pretty good in the ring Charlotte has a worse moonsault Nobody has a worse moonsault than Lita. That you’d even suggest Lita was “good in the ring” just makes me think you’ve never actually seen a Lita match.

When even daddy Dave Meltzer thinks your opinion on wrestling/sports entertainment is wrong..... Daddy must be trying to test our faith… right? I thought sports entertainment got invented in 2008 when WWE went PG and pushed Hornswoggle and Cena. Has WWE been sports entertainment this whole time? Was Savage-Steamboat sports entertainment? Was Stone Cold pouring cement in Vince’s car sports entertainment? Was WCW sports entertainment?? Goddammit, pal, there should be a checklist of what was and wasn’t.

At being injured, yes. But not at living rent free in your head. At working for everything he has achieved in this industry, not sitting back and enjoying his privilege. Wow, you still got that big 2015 energy for Roman Reigns in 2022 😂 that’s so sad. If you focused more on supporting wrestlers you like rather than obsessively crying about WWE and Roman Reigns (even in threads like this that aren’t about our tribal chief), the wrestlers you like might achieve more.

All they see and get is money and that’s all they care about. How dare they run their business like a business. If Mattel had any integrity and cared about the REAL fans, they would cease all business with Amazon immediately, and give all of those items for free to my buddy’s toy shop.

I mean, Lita, the Bellas, two blondes whose names I forget, etc. are in the Rumble too. Mickie is doing it out of respect for the WWE. Vince has ZERO interest in crossover matches. HHH? He'd be salivating. But we all know HHH does nothing these days. Knowing HHH.

That’s the interesting part. There’s nobody on the roster who is credible to face Reigns in a WrestleMania main event, other than Rollins, Lashley or Lesnar. If the Rumble winner goes for Reigns at Mania: Lesnar If the Runble winner goes for Brock/Lashley at Mania: Big E It's a shame that there isn't a yearly event designed to make someone into a star by outlasting 30 other people. I’ll bite. Who on the roster has never held a world title but would be a credible WrestleMania main eventer if they won the Rumble this year?

Samoa Joe vs Samoa Joe’s Weight vs Father Time is one of the all time three-way feuds. Sucked that Weight and Time treated Joe like a jobber though and took liberties with him. And the WWE barbers made him look awful for pretty much his entire run. Better than Roman. At being injured, yes. But not at living rent free in your head.

Depends how you look at it. Samoa Joe is a former ROH World Champion and a former TNA World Champion. So technically he did hold World Title's, just not in the WWE. Though, he is a former two time NXT Champion, that is their brands version of a World Title. True but he deserved WWE or Universal Title runs tbh. I always wanted Joe vs Cena, Joe vs Orton, Joe vs HHH, Joe vs Taker, Joe vs Goldberg etc. Damn the amount of potential Joe had in WWE 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ Samoa Joe vs Samoa Joe’s Weight vs Father Time is one of the all time three-way feuds. For me personally, I love the idea of the line. But I’m cautious about it because:
1) UK retailers probably aren’t getting it anyway.
2) I expect that similar to MOTWWEU and other offshoot lines, it’ll only be around a year or two.

There was actually. Dustin Rhodes vs. Barry Windham happened on an NWA indy show in the summer of 1998 when Dustin was doing his whole, "he will return" stuff. So Vince was definitely working with what was left of the NWA during 1998 up until the end of summer. Thanks for the info! Looks like they were working together pretty much for the duration of Dan Severn’s run in WWE. The NWA 50th anniversary show in late October 1998 had Regal vs Severn for the NWA world title. The Headbangers, Cornette, Kurt Angle, Test, Tiger Ali Singh, Babu and Meat were also on that card.

We just say the intentional tearing down of the best thing this company has produced in years. This is only happening because the women’s division is shallow.Come on smarten the up You spent the last two years complaining about how bad HHH NXT was. 😂 Now it’s gone, you’re its biggest fan.

It's not like this is the first time the WWE has ever acknowledged a wrestling promotion besides themselves. Having ECW stars appear on WWF Raw in 1997 with matches from March - July. Having Jerry Lawler wrestle on the ECW PPV in August of 1997, and have Vince, Jim Ross and The King all plug that on Raw the week before. The NWA being used in 1998 with the NWA Champion Dan Severn being on Raw with the NWA Tag Champions the Rock 'n Roll Express. So it's not like WWE opened a "forbidden door" it's more like, "Hey, IMPACT Wrestling has never hurt us, and are a welcomed bonus to pro wrestling, so let's use Mickie and give them a little positive boost." Plus IMPACT may be a bit spiteful after AEW closed the doors down on them a few months ago. I don’t know if I’d count the NWA one… Was there an NWA promotion at the time? I thought that whole thing was just to make fun of Jim Cornette thinking it’s still 1981. But yeah, WWE working with/acknowledging the lesser companies is nothing new. Antonio Inoki won the WWE title. And they’d team up with Japanese promoters to co-run shows in Japan. There were a few little phases of WWE having Japanese/Mexican wrestlers on the shows. Rumble 1997 was packed with Luchdors and Minis. They even sent Undertaker to Smoky Mountain to fight New Jack once. That’d be like sending Bobbly Lashley to fight Nick Gage at some mudshow promotion ran by Malcolm Bivens. There’s the whole ECW invasion thing you mentioned, and Vince was largely keeping them afloat anyway. They mentioned WCW quite a bit during the attitude era, most notable probably being when DX tried to get into Nirro. And they’ve been using archive footage from ROH and TNA for career retrospectives etc for years. Even AEW, Vince offered to help when they first were setting up, supplied them with a bunch of wrestlers, and let Jericho plug them on the WWE Network.

Just out of my own curiosity… Is there any real “proof” of the Vince Sr thing other than what VKM said? Because if that’s all we have to go on, I don’t think anyone has a real basis on how Vince Sr felt and would feel if he were still living. It’s public record that Vince Sr’s final words were “just do one thing for me, Vinny… Put the strap on Claudio.”

The Bray Wyatt body would work for Tugboat, except for maybe the arms - we never got an unpainted-hands version of that body, I’m assuming that’s because they’re molded to look like gloves and wouldn't work as naked hands? Hasbro often had tape molded but just not painted - those who had the macho 1 body - so you can kinda make anything work That’s a good point, I was thinking of that earlier on Rick Martel in particular. I feel like people would be less forgiving of it in 2022 though.
