If people were hardcore fans of WCW (and are still on wrestling forums 20+ years later), they just moved on to WWF and/or the money mark WCW knock-offs that sprang up over the years.
But there were a lot of people that watched WCW on Monday nights who weren’t hardcore fans, and they just gave up on the wrestling fad when WCW ended.

Looks like the biannual, televised shows they did over here, are done with. They wouldn’t make as much sense with the TV schedule these days. It’s moved to the SmackDown Friday and PLE Saturday now, three times this year in Europe, which seems to be a lot more popular/profitable than the old Monday and Tuesday tapings. The UK Tuesday shows were so dead half the time. It’s a good thing they stopped in 2019 imo. It would’ve been embarrassing seeing Edge come out of retirement giving motivational speeches to arenas that are three sides empty.

Not sure how many tickets they will be able to sell in a minor league baseball stadium in Texas all summer? Anyone been there? I think this could have really worked in an east coast location. It’s a tiny arena, it is about the size of the average Dynamite crowd, so if they can get the attendance they get every week, it’ll actually look full in that venue and they won’t have to hide/avoid showing any of the sides of the arena. If it was one show there, I think they’d sell it out no problem. But every few days seems unlikely, especially given how ice-cold it is at the moment. That said, are they selling tickets yet? They could be $5 or even free, subsidised by the city, so they might fill it up.

The one I remember most fondly is King Booker. Great figure too.

Why did they even do a draft? Because it’s generally been a ratings winner over the years.

Looks like a giant Superbowl ring. They seem to be churning out these weird custom belts all the time now. It’s wild to me that there are enough people with both the money and the desire to collect them to keep these things profitable.

Eric says she's horrible lol. Her promos are pretty bad in AEW. They are, but her promos in WWE were bad too. They are probably worse now because AEW doesn’t have any quality control and because she no longer has the WWE’s major league production compensating for her weaknesses. But talking has never been her strong suit, even in out of character interviews or her awful appearances in Japanese wrestling. Giving her a live mic for months to start with was definitely a bad choice and it’s destroyed any aura she might have had, but to some extent she could turn it around once she starts having matches.

I don’t recall it being like the WWE 2K MyGM mode.

This is genuinely pathetic and embarrassing behaviour at a level beyond what’s ever been seen on here before. I really hope OP is a child because an adult should not be acting so obnoxiously wrongheaded. Mattel, for about the last ten years, have only made toys of talent who WWE has a merchandise deal with. That is still the case. Tying yourself in knots over the semantics of what the “name” of that contract is won’t change that. I’m pleased to see literally everybody else trying to explain this very easy to understand concept. I’m baffled as to what OP was hoping to achieve with this conspiracy nonsense. Point scoring? Ted Arcidi figures?

It would be a restrictive rule that most customers wouldn’t even notice or care about if they implemented it tbh Perfectly said.

What on earth are you looking at for numbers of “literal people” watching wrestling? 😂 The ratings are nowhere near the Attitude Era. I don't think they're even very close to the RA Era. TV ratings are not a count of “literal people” 😂 - they are extrapolations based on a sample. It would be more believable to say that less people are watching wrestling on traditional cable TV than ever before. And that less people are buying new wrestling VHS tapes or DVDs now. But millions of people are watching wrestling on YouTube, Peacock, Hulu, WWE Network, Netflix,Twitter, Facebook, illegal streaming sites, torrents, FITE TV, and various other means now that weren’t doing that in July 1997.

Has he not had some of the most brain melting matches over the last 3 years? He’s been doing meaningless minor league stuff for three years. None of it is memorable, most wrestling fans will never even see or hear of it. He’s basically retired again. Most of the stuff from his final year or so in the big leagues was pretty unmemorable too. His last real moment in wrestling was being part of the tribal chief’s double stack pin, and he’s little more than a footnote in that. So it’s probably back to KofiMania for his last truly important contribution.

I don't know about low years like 1995, 1997 (WWF specifically), etc. But in terms of literal people, the numbers are somewhat low. What on earth are you looking at for numbers of “literal people” watching wrestling? 😂

I think it’s a combination of the ones they have done not flying off the shelves, and the expense of producing the entrance gear to do the figure properly. It is a very low number of elite figures considering she’s one of the top stars for most of the last decade.

People who have the Earl Hebner - do you recommend it? I’m near a store that’s selling it for $45 and I don’t know if it’s worth the cost of almost a whole Retro set… but damn, it looks like it’d be a great addition.

That Styles and Dom look good. Are they series 2 or 3, because I thought Cody’s in series 2? Or I he in a Series 1 refresher case? Went back to the Walmart where I saw S1 a week ago, and picked up the Rollins. Not sure as to what the case breakdown of these are, but they had 2x Cena, 2x Reigns, 1x Rock and 1x Rollins. I think they are an even split. When I have seen these at two different stores both were just put out and it looked like equal amounts of each. Series 2 is Cody, Stone Cold, Lashley and Sheamus.

Pretty good Raw, it zipped along well. Gable as a tyrant in the Alpha Academy is intriguing. I liked Sami getting blindsided by another challenger as well, he’s not just in a bubble with Gable.
Drew and Gunther going for King of the Ring makes it feel important. Drew’s interaction with Sheamus was entertaining, and I liked Vinci being booted out of Imperium. He’s clearly the weak link in the group and it was counterproductive when Kaiser is so good. Hopefully Gio can get back to developing as a singles character now and up his game.
Battle Royal was fine. Exposed the lack of top level talent and Nia Jax just wasn’t strong enough to do that table stuff properly with Piper Niven. But there were some cool ideas in the match, and Becky Lynch is the right champion as we go into the roster reset.
Too much dissension stuff happening at the same time, but Priest taking care of the kids business and telling them he doesn’t need them showed that he’s a bit of a bad ass. I hope him and Jey Uso excel at Backlash.
