If you look carefully, the majority of the released figures differ slightly than their prototype images. To think Rick Steiner is anywhere close to as in demand like unreleased figures like Rhythm & Blues Greg/Mega Maniacs Brutus is just insane. But with that being said, the prototype Rick definitely looks way cooler than the final product. Didn't Koko have a different colour headband and tornado have striped flares on his boots on their protos too? Wonder if they are about as well

I'd love to see a proto of doink with the right paint too, didn't Scott Steiner have slightly different paint either?

Is there any info if there is a Hbk Virgil punch prototype anywhere? Or a card of r&b?

That could be it actually. I always thought that maybe ax doing the clothesline was what was originally planned for his series 1 release but they didn't quite have the clothesline mechanism down maybe. That's interesting. I never thought that it could be the Series 1 Ax. I have yet to see the sketch of Series 1 Ax with the gorilla slam action so maybe it was supposed to be series 1 and for some reason they decided to change it. Would be interesting to know. I always assumed it was maybe an issue with the prototype of the clothesline mechanism maybe, since no other series 1 had the clothesline action, so they quickly made the gorilla press mould instead. Do the sketches of clothesline ax have any dates listed on them?

I always forget about that one! I guess that wouldn't be hard to reproduce though, surprised I haven't seen it yet actually. I wonder what the story was on that change, and then using the body for Crush the next year. I always figured that by the time it came to mass produce them Ax was no longer a part of the team and it was just Crush and Smash. So instead of making a whole new body sculpt they must have just decided to make a Crush head and use the same body mold. Though, I find it odd that they were redoing an Ax body but they kept the same body for Smash. Would be interesting to here if they were ever thinking of releasing all three. That could be it actually. I always thought that maybe ax doing the clothesline was what was originally planned for his series 1 release but they didn't quite have the clothesline mechanism down maybe.

I wonder if there's any chance a Hart Foundation Anvil exists. Or a possibly ax with clothesline would be another good, though slightly less interesting proto

Did anyone who had the galoob ring find it hard to play with it as much as the hasbro ring? I always found the ropes were too loose, or if you tighted them the posts would slip out and come out the holes. Glue didnt work well either

Christmas 1992 i got 17, my first batch, was a good bundle. Then around 2006 i bought a bundle of around 60 off a childhood friend for a pound a figure, including 123 kid and adam bomb which was a ridiculous bargain thinking of it. Thankfully he didnt seem to care about selling them off so cheap.

I collected nearly all of the figures when I was a kid, only missing out on the entire green cards and the elusive Dusty Rhodes. I bought (well, my extremely kind parents) bought the vast majority of my figures from a shop called 'Children's World'. It was by far the best shop that stocked Hasbro figures. They had massive stock of each figure and always had the latest ones in stock. This was a massive chain in the early 90s with many shops, but sadly it was sold and became Mothercare (booooooooo!) I remember the childrens world era! I remember when i looked in there and saw only 6 pegs of greg valentines. Bad day that was.

I could never get savage to flip and fly off the ropes like that. Mine would either just fall flat, miss the target or slip off the ropes and scuff the paint. Boo urns.

In wales a couple of years ago i walked past a charity shop, spotted an early 90s WWF gym bag with Hogan and Warrior on it, the ones with black.and blue pattern and green straps, went in for it figuring it would be 10 pounds, they charged 1.50 instead, i was positively agog!

It was in a market at the bottom of my local shopping centre, i remember Anvil, IRS, Bushwhackers being displayed for £15 each, in 2002/03, that was the last time. There was a thread on here years ago about this subject where a guy said he discovered about 6 of the rings in toys r us above all the shelving caked in dust and the store sold them to him for a quid each, about late 2000s he said if i remember right

I used to use the old ghostbusters hq as the entrance way and backstage area, had some quality brawls! With rumbles did anyone else used to write out the numbers 1 to 30 on paper, screw them up then do the random drawing that way out of the pile? It was effort but worth it! Yes! We used to do that! I'm gonna find out you were a friend of mine now! Haha! That brought back such memories as soon as I read that post. I had forgotten about the numbers on paper! Haha glad i wasnt the only one! Id try and always flub it so hogan would get later numbers like he always seemed to in rumbles as well, could never have hulk enterin at number 7 or whatever
