I grew up with a box full of Hasbros that my older brother had. Bruised and battered from hours and hours of enjoyment.
Growing up I remember purchasing a few new ones. Strangely the only one I clearly remember buying was Ultimate Warrior 3. Wierd because I remember it so clearly, this is probably 20 years ago plus!
They were all stored away and after the best ever years of WWF in the early 90s, I lost interest in it and being a teenager took over.
Then, whilst moving house probably 6 or 7 years ago the old box was pulled out - this led to a search on ebay, and the rest as they say, is history.
A few years and many pounds later, I had (and still have) a vast collection that I couldnt be more proud off.
Although I stopped collecting a few years ago I never sold anything other than doubles, and who knows what the future holds.
Highlights include the mixed box of 50 or so MOC Hasbros I got from the states, which to my surprise included a mint Dusty, Warrior 3 and Demolition. Only a few were listed in the description but for the price It was worth the gamble and it certainly paid off.
My awesome bidding wars and banter with the Origional Hasbromaster, Dennis from Germany.
Getting a selection of My Bret collection signed in person by my childhood hero.
And my 'friendships' I made on here with Brian (figurecollector), Francesco (CDP) and both Paul and Ady amongst others.
Heres to the future. Theres plenty more to find.
I am in absolute love with this. This is awesome. I can only hope mine reaches this level at some point! This is a collection that I am envious of. Best collection I have seen thus far.
Thanks very much mate - and good luck with your new venture.

No, about 3 years ago mate, maybe more. I was just curious. The same two prototypes were sold on eBay about a month ago. I wonder how many prototypes were made of each figure. They are testshots mate - not prototypes. Testshots are exactly that - a test, normally used from old parts and normally multi coloured but not always. Protos are the first ones of the near finished article, used for catalogues etc... hand painted.

''Adam74'' Did you recently buy the prototype British Bulldog & Tito on eBay? I saw them and just followed the auction. I don't know much about prototypes, so I wanted to see how much they sold for. No, about 3 years ago mate, maybe more.

WOW, what did your Neidhart grade??? Just been in the loft to check. It looks flawless to me. C85 B85 F85 for an Overall 85NM+...... The Bret's aren't perfect like Neidhart, both have a little crack on the bubble in the same place (right hand), and a little crease here or there on the card. Not to bad though. I'd love to get a couple of those cases you posted above for them... I'll search around to see if there's any in the UK.

Nice figure, bootan.
I personally have a Neidhart AFA Graded up in the loft. I also have two Bret's that I would love to get graded, but I could not send them off in a million years through fear of them getting damaged. I would be devasted.
3 of my favourite items in my collection.

Although it would be very hard, maybe its time to let my 2-Up Brutus go. Being probably my favourite regular released hasbro, it has to be my personal favourite hasbro item ive seen. How do you let something like that go? I dont even like parting with MOCS. But these prices are mental!

Funnly enough i'm just doing a custom Virgil based on the ad shot, always like the ligher skin and brighter red. But it is almost exactly what came out minus the name on the shorts. I reckon the one used in the shot wouldn't have the flat part on the top of the shorts were the name was added. nearly finished my version... I own the rascal in the above picture.. So I'll check for you later tonight.

I have a couple of 'different' bagged figures.. Bear Hug Hogan and series 1 Warrior. Proper 'hasbro' bags... I love them in my collection, but would never claim for them to be anything special until proper evidence came out!

Enjoy your figure for what you believe it to be and stop having a go at the rest of the board. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Ultimately if you ever need to sell your collection these will be the people you will be hoping to buy it and therefore don't burn all your bridges. Agreed. Although, this thread has been better than the soaps. It turned from a good thread showing of a truly brilliant figure (which, i also believe is a variant not a proto - no offence) to a comedy thread. And I don't appreciate being called childish - or a kronie, as you just labelled me. Isn't calling people names childish!? Enjoy your figure, and don't be so bothered about what other people think. And don't forget, a figure is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it - nothing more. It's only a TOY at the end of the day. Why does every thread turn in to an argument these days?

I like the figure but to me it's majorly over priced. I'd give £150-£200 nothing much more. Kev, without hijacking this thread, where can I see a picture of your Bret proto-type?

lol@adam - sorry adam, very insencitive of us! as you maybe gather, people have different opinions on this one, heres what i have been told on the brets... white wrist tape bret - this was printed on the mailaway posters and was originally penciled forn release in series 8. they decided against this and went with pink tape. this figure appears on the mailaway posters because the final paint scheme had not been finalised. black elbow/pink wrist tape - this figure was designed as the suggested mailaway up until a hasbro director decided " hey - rather than spending money producing a new paint scheme, why not release the purple heart bret we messed up from series 4" - there was lots of these left over as they were not released in the states. the bret with white wrist tape appeared on the box for the king of the ring - i have been guaranteed by one of the best that hasbro would not have allowed their kotr box to feature a mailaway figure on the front - so it was supposed to be how series 8 bret was initially designed. another fact that backs this up is on the same mailaway advert they have series 8 undertaker proto with dark hair - not brown as the mailaway was released ultimatly - if hasbro didnt mess up and produce brets with purple hearts, we would ALL have bret with black elbow/pink wrist tape in our mailaway collections! yes they are all very nice, would love a bret with white wrist tape in my collection to, would fit right in hope this helps mate Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Although I'm Still confused I must agree, loose figures look SUPERB once cased.

Can you please all stop posting pictures of all these awesome Bret figures..
It's getting me far to excited.... Hahaha.
Now, in all seriousness...
Love them all... But, can someone run through them all with me please.
All the PROTOS I've seen... The 4 I own (Hulk, Virgil and Warrior x2), various ones that were once owned by Dennis, Akeems that came from Ichiban, Kev85s Bret... are all very different from normal standard released figures. IE - Hand painted, some made of Resin, some with splits down the side (Ichibans and my own Warriors), some with vastly different skin tones to the standard (Hulk, Virgil)
These all look like standard figures with paint variations? Not original, hand painted prototypes - like I'm sure Kevs was.
Please, none of you take this as a negative post, I'm not saying they are not all real etc, I'm just confused.
Cheers guys.

Amazing. More pictures would be great.
It's scary when you think what's still out there, just sat in someone's loft or basement.
