This title makes it sound like they're accused of murder or something, lol. It's an action figure line. And they're still coming out, as we're getting two new sets on the shelves at this moment. There were times pre-Steve where we rarely ever heard from Mattel. It comes and goes in waves. where are you finding them RingsideCollectibles.com

As someone else mentioned, it blows me away that we don't have a perfect WM12 HBK. The entrance great is just OK, and the elite had zero entrance gear at all.
I find it bizarre that we haven't gotten Bam Bam in his most traditional WWF look (purple flames). And while you can easily make the definitive Hulk Hogan (Elite 96 minus the goofy hat/license plate, add a Hulk Rules shirt) it's wild that that definite Hulk isn't readily available MOC.

My assumption/guess has always been that they planned on a huge Steiner Bros reveal at the last SDCC but then the Rick controversy happened a few months before that and they hit pause. The WCW one that came out was too far along imo so we still got it. We'll probably get 'em once they feel enough time has passed

The line's been around for 13 years. I think it's only natural for there to be some burnout, as others have mentioned.
I do think the lack of fresh faces among legends talent is a factor for sure for us diehards. It's not exciting to get the 15th different version of someone we've already gotten so many times. At the same time, I do think we need to realize and acknowledge that in the year 2023 getting obscure legends from 20-30 years ago isn't exactly moving the needle business-wise for Mattel. I want a Mattel Adam Bomb as much as the next guy on here, but the Quebecers and the Godwinns aren't "saving" the line lol (as much as I may personally want them myself). Current product may not be the top priority for us diehards on message boards but WWE is hot right now and they're still pumping out incredible figures.
I myself am far more pumped about the AEW line and the Zombie Sailor figs and Powertown these days, so I understand a bit of a malaise feeling with this line. But I do also think the quality of the Mattel figs is better than ever and we need to be realistic about wanting obscure legends that really only us diehards (still a very small percentage of overall Mattel buyers) want.

Sounds like you want out, which is perfectly fine. I'm perfectly happy with both the Mattel and Jazwares lines at the moment, been in on both since Day 1 and am in for the long haul.

I'm thinking Everytime I Die fans bought a ton From what we’ve seen of these case packs it’s very possible B&B are shorted, too. I’m sure they’d be the first to go for a chase to be in the case. That would also definitely make sense. My first thought was ETID fans (cause it def surprised me) but maybe it's a bit of both lol

Macho's deal wasn't exclusive to WWE. Wasn't a traditional legends deal (this much we knew already, Mattel signed guys like Bret and Macho and Warrior separately at the beginning of the line when they were allowed to sign guys separately). Macho's estate has since signed with an agency, CMG. CMG also has guys like Andre and Bulldog (who have deals with WWE + others, as we've seen) and Pillman (who I don't believe has a WWE deal at the moment, but I could wrong on that one) and Hawk (no WWE deal). So signing with CMG doesn't necessarily mean one way or the other regarding WWE imo. That original Macho deal with WWE is over. Will they re-sign? Wait and see. Macho's estate has signed deals with Zombie Sailor and Major pod (for bendies and presumably their new LJN line too. Thanks for the summary, and I look forward to checking out the podcast. Macho also has a BCA style figure coming with whatever Chella is going by these days and I believe is still on PWT as well. So yeah, he seems to be everywhere and I assume their licensing rates are very fair for such small companies to get on board. I also find the CMG aspect fascinating. I assume they're acting with at least some guidance from the respective estates, so there's probably no one sized fits all situation. But the timing is really interesting here, with the licensing expiring right around the same time as a huge business acquisition. You're very welcome! Glad you appreciate that part too, trolls gonna troll. I wanted to make sure I got that part right cause it's super interesting imo, not just as simple as "they lost him." We see Andre getting the treatment everywhere INCLUDING WWE, while some others from that group haven't been a part of the Mattel scene for years. They also say on the pod that the current Legends deals WWE is offering are barely worth anything, for what it's worth. So we might see more guys go the Macho route and look to be better compensated elsewhere with multiple separate deals.

Yeah, it's me and the other one being annoying, got it 🤣 Let's try this: A: Mattel lost the rights to Macho Man B: Mattel didn't lose the rights to Macho Man Pick one. It's easy. Bro it's not that black and white,I mean it is, but I'm a journalist, how can I report objective fact and condense information in a clear concise way and expect to keep my job? I explained it above. Can you read? I find the CMG stuff fascinating. God forbid I wanted to get those details right.

It's all explained in great detail in this week's episode of the Major Pod. Patreon came out Monday and publicly everyone can hear it on Friday. Sparknotes version? I'm not hiding anything, I just didn't feel like typing a 1,000-word summary essay when everyone can simply listen to it on Friday. Geez. I refuse to believe it's that complicated 🤣 I'm a journalist in real life, I like to be accurate with this stuff. It's a three-hour pod. I'm working at the moment. I'll try and go back and find the details because I like STC13, but you and the poster above are just being annoying.

"We know what happened but you gotta wait till Friday to find out what it was" is the perfect almost-ending to this whole affair. I'm in tears laughing at the absurdity of it all. It's Macho Man figures, not Top Secret national security, ffs. I'm not hiding anything, I just didn't feel like typing a 1,000-word summary essay when everyone can simply listen to it on Friday. Geez.

I'm all in on this line. ROH 2015-18 is one of my favorite eras ever so I'm hoping we get a bunch from that time period. Give me a Shibata and a Dalton Castle and I'm a happy man.

DiBiase was massive in real life. I try not to get too annoyed by scaling but it drives me nuts that they keep making him so tiny when these are specific looks that I've really wanted from them.
Also I'm passing on that perfect, the basic in yellow from like a decade ago is better than the weird new rubber top imo

To everyone complaining:
If ROH flashback figs were mass-produced in full retail qualities, they would've rotted pegs worse than the NXT flashbacks of Reigns and Rusev. Online exclusive is the way to go, and I think 1/5000 could be the perfect balance. I've been dying for an ROH figure line for a decade now but there isn't gonna be huge mass appeal for this stuff. 1000 would be too tough, 3000 would make 'em tough but doable, and 5000 we all shouldn't have any problem getting them. The ShopAEW figs are 3,000 and once the hype died down they're easily available and up for weeks at a time.
We're getting classic ROH figs. At the end of the day, this is a good thing!

Y'all can keep complaining about Becky when she's clearly the best looking fig in that four-pack too lol, the others don't even come close from a purely aesthetic/entrance attire perspective lol Becky lynch sucks. The wwe are TELLING people how good she is, but she just isnt that good. Her promos suck, her entitled attitude sucks (she wants to headline night 2 of wrestlemania now) and did i mention she sucks? When you say The rock....stone cold....hulk hogan, the next names that roll off the tongue would be bret hart, the undertaker, shawn michaels, kane, jumpin jeff farmer.....becky is being rammed down peoples throats as something special, but other than calling herself the man (totally stupid) she has done nothing new. That's all just your personal opinion. She was the top babyface, man or woman, in the entire company at the height of her run whether you like her or don't like her. Her being included in that four-pack is not a big deal. ROCKY MAIVIA is a far worse choice, it's not the Rock.

It means she’s out of place in a set amongst the biggest stars in wrestling history. It’d be like a football icons 4 pack including Maradona, Pele, Messi and some random woman. Except we're circling back to the fact that she isn't a "random woman". She's the biggest female star, and in the top 2-3 biggest stars in current wrestling. Again, not liking her is fine, feeling she doesn't deserve the push she's getting or whatever is fine as that's subjective, pretending she's not a major wrestling star is willfully ignoring reality. And women's wrestling popularity isn't just a U.S. thing. Stardom in Japan has been on absolute FIRE since 2020, moving up from like the 8th biggest promotion in the country, to the fourth, to now the unquestioned No. 2 wrestling promotion in all of Japan business-wise/tickets sold/popularity. The old heads whining here (and I'm an old head myself, just not whining about it lol) are telling on themselves, like I said.
