I remain stunned by all the hate on here. This thing looks amazing, the stuff I dream about as an adult wrestling figure collector. Instant purchase for me (with a totally reasonable payment plan).

In this regard, I do wish Mattel and this board and the figure Facebook groups/etc. would ALL emphasize that we can all pay with payment plans. Payments plans are the way to go on big-ticket figure items. $100 a month or whatever for something as amazing as this is a complete no-brainer in my book. I completely get being spooked by a $400 price tag, but I really think we as a community need to be made aware that payment plans are the way to go with items like this. (It's the only way anyone buys Hot Toys, for example.) Absolutely agreed. There might be reasons why Mattel can't actively promote those options - endorsement of financial services can be messy. But if it's a product you want, definitely good options available. I get the people who just don't have the space or aren't interested. But I think the value for money is absolutely there (at least for US costs), and for anyone of a certain age this is such nostalgia rush. Agreed on all fronts. I won't hate on anyone who says this just isn't for them if they're not a classic guy or a WCW guy or what have you. We all have different wrestling tastes. But from a financial perspective (and people can hate on Cardona all they want but I think he was 1000 percent spot-on with this with the New Gen ring) I do think the wrestling figure community needs to almost be educated/get used to this kind of process. Nobody is buying $300-500 Hot Toys straight up, everyone uses payment plans. And to Sideshow's credit, it's like the default pay option. I do wish Mattel could pump that up a little bit more but you might be right in that there's reasons they can't be more up front about that aspect.

I can't believe y'all are hating on this. Blows my mind. Premium sets like this are all I could ever want as an adult wrestling figure collector. Like, dream stuff. Insane to me that anyone could see this and crap on it. Only ppl hating on it are the ones who can’t afford it. To me The Mountie is in the same category as Snuka, Benoit for now. Rougeau Brothers? What validates them even being in the Hall of Fame to begin with? They were ENORMOUS in Montreal. Hogan was totally cool with losing to Jacques in Montreal at the peak of his NWO run. I don't know how to better describe how big Jacques was in Montreal than that lol

Hulk Hogan has pretty much spoiled that the Fabulous Rougeaus are going in the HOF this year (probably with Hulk inducting) . Could this mean that we would finally get a Mountie elite!? Any other looks that could potentially need doing? They've said we're probably never getting a Mountie Mattel because of the issues the real-life Canadian Mounties/Police have with the character. Pretty sure the Rougeaus were originally planned to be a part of the early TRU Legends two-packs before that line fell apart though, and I'd personally still hope that The Quebecers might be possible because they're just different enough if we can't get the Mountie.

Absolutely! The more wrestling the better! I took a decade off starting around 1998 so ever since the Network started I've been doing a slow binge of all the WWF stuff on there. I'm up to mid-2001 (because I really take my time and I watch so much Japanese wrestling that my modern Japan stuff/AEW comes first). Sometimes it can get a bit tedious (it was way more fun to binge when there was only Raws and no Smackdowns, the extra show really drags down a binge) but I'm glad I've done it. 1997 and 2000 absolutely rule and watching it all in real time was 1000 percent worth it.
Also I love watching the really old stuff as late-night/relaxing watches. I'm currently watching old Mid-Atlantic/Crockett shows from the early 80s often before bed. They're fun as hell and just a great late-night chill watch.

These are MASS PRODUCED figures. Mattel is a giant powerhouse of a company and they're producing enough so they're the ones who get the money, not the scalpers.
Also the collecting surge from the early days of covid has gone away and things are more back to normal while toy companies across the board increased production after that burst of demand (just look at how Marvel Legends are clogging pegs at the moment). Demand is high, supply is higher, and I'd argue Mattel has really hit the sweet spot in that regard so scalpers aren't the ones raking it in.

The best chance at ECW figs is with the lines outside of WWE because of the Legends Deal issue. Jazwares (if they ever decided to do a separate legends line a la Classic Superstars), Zombie Sailor, maybe even Powertown if they decided to go down that path.

Isn't it controlled by his brother/family? I thought that's what I heard when they were talking about his micro brawler on the Major Pod. Not certain. Assumed Tammy since she is his widow and that’s where it woulda went unless he put it in his will to go elsewhere or she signed over the rights. Myers absolutely said that he worked with Candido's brother to get the micro brawler made

"Ahhh the line is dead!" "Ahhh they never show anything!"
lolol. These look awesome. Hook in particular is incredible. And it's still absolutely surreal to this Stardom fan that I'll soon have an actual Jamie Hayter figure in my collection.

I'm pretty content with 80s guys at the moment so I really just want first time in the line figs for New Gen and Attitude Era.
New Gen: Kona Crush Adam Bomb Ahmed Johnson short-haired/long pants 95-96 Bulldog Gonzalez Mr. Fuji
Attitude: Hardcore Holly and Crash Holly Debra Ivory Haku (gimme an 80s version too) Steve Blackman Test Grandmaster/Brian Christopher

Was going through my bins and bins of legends the other day and as much as I love some of the older figs after comparing 'em with more newer releases I was surprised how much more I'm OK with re-doing a lot of these guys with the new advancements in technology. So in that regard, I'm all for better/updated versions of Shango and Godfather/etc., ideally with some better entrance gear/etc.

Advertisers care about the 18-49 demo Regardless, advertisers aren't the ones walking down to aisles buying things for their kids based off a demo and the age group that advertisers care about are adult collectors in the best case scenario and that's not enough to sustain the line. 18-35 or 18-49, the point is that not enough of them are buying this stuff and physical distribution doesn't matter when the pegs are full off the same figures for 6 months so there's no need to distribute new figures. I think they just started pumping out too many figures. I love AEW myself and they've made incredible, incredible growth to become the No. 2 promotion business-wise in the world in such a short time, but they're still No. 2 and just aren't going to have the reach of a WWE when it comes to merchandise sales. Jeremy did a patented move by making production super small for the first wave so that demand greatly exceeded supply. That allowed them to pump up production with increased demand from the stores ... but they increased production too high, which led to clogged shelves. This isn't just an AEW/Jazwares problem, it's a toy industry problem at the moment. Hasbro/Mattel/etc. all pumped up production to meet with the increased demand early in the pandemic. Marvel Legends is one of the biggest action figure lines in the world and they're completely rotting shelves/being discounted immediately because Hasbro started pumping out too many/demand has dipped post-pandemic. I'm hoping they settle on a happy medium when it comes to how many to produce because I still think the line is terrific overall. But this is also an issue that's affecting pretty much every toy line at the moment.

Update from Steve from an interview on this week's upcoming Major Pod (I get it early from their patreon): They are completely re-running Wave 1 to correct the leg issue. Good news!
The delivery date is being adjusted as a result. They're planning on the corrected ones to be out late March/early April.

Very much agree to disagree. The Supreme figures are out of this world. I think the Blood and Guts Thunder Rosa is the best AEW figure they've done PERIOD. The Britt, Miro and Andrade figs in Series 10 rule. I do believe it's a line to pick and choose because when a fig is bad (the newest Jungle Boy, etc.), it tends to be really bad. But I couldn't disagree more about going downhill after 5. The parts are cheap and flimsy and the skin tones are zombie clay, it started in Unrivaled 5 and it still hasn’t been changed since then, only Unmatched has the good pigments and joints The Supreme figures are not even in the conversation and them being good at a $45 price point doesn’t change the fact that the main line is corner cutting and feels cheap. My area doesn’t even have Supremes at retail and probably isn’t getting them Agree to disagree. Unrivaled 9 is my favorite set in the entire line so far. And you can't just disqualify the Supremes lol, they're part of the AEW line.

I'm the opposite, I'm all in and want more. Sounds like you've burned out because you collected every figure. With modern lines I don't think that's the right approach to take cause there's so many figs/it gets overwhelming fast. I stick to one look per character on my display so I'm kept in check/not pressured to buy everything/etc. and I enjoy it very much. That video is indeed damning. I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for it to be addressed on the pod. Remember Matt clearly said he won’t bury a company he’s working with so it’ll be a fluff piece and they’ll make excuses and skirt around the issues I’m very disappointed because as an out of box collector I thought these looked amazing both on and out of box and a fantastic looking package. This may be a new toy line but they’re Experienced individuals in the toy manufacturing process behind this line, and the basics of QC don’t change. You have to get running samples etc to check and do these issues. The amount of crap mattel get for the slightest thing (my figures leg feels slightly tight) v it snapping completely trying to lift past a 3 degree angle is laughable But it already WAS addressed on the pod. They spent a lot of time on it and they didn't pull any punches. They're also gonna have Steve from Powertown on next week to hopefully talk about how they're going to fix/address the problem.

Well this sucks because Hansen and Brody are probably the most ordered figures in this wave. Cool that they're addressing it for the second half of the wave, but I spent $100 on those two and now I'm going to be terrified taking them out of the packaging and posing them on my shelf. I'm ok with them being a bit oversized, I can make it work. But how many of us are going to have broken figures within a year of them arriving? they're not going to replace the broken figs for us in wave 1? You can't piss off wave 1 backers... Know going in that these first three are gonna have issues and be super careful with the legs. If we're just putting on a shelf and posing and letting them sit there we should be perfectly fine. They had issues when they tried moving the leg into like a 90 degree position; most of us are never doing that with figs
