Mick Foley was quoted in the UK Sun today, putting over his experience at the Bound for Glory PPV, positioning TNA as something of an underdog company that he hopes will really take off. He compared seeing a show to being able to see Bruce Springsteen in the late 70s before he exploded as a star and said what Abyss did in the Bound for Glory Monster's Ball with the flaming table surpassed the spear Edge gave him through a burning table at Wrestlemania 22. He compared the backstage atmosphere to the original ECW, where everyone is supportive and the matches set the pace for the next one to try and top. He also noted he needed to get in shape if "that moment comes" for him to step into the ring, which is something he's absolutely planned for down the line. To read the piece, which also features Foley commenting on his long WWE run, click here.
Speaking of Foley, while he is again attached to the "Hey Dude" comedy, the series does not currently have a deal in place with a network.
The January Genesis PPV will be on the road, although company sources have no disclosed where the show will be held.
BG James is now working backstage as an agent for the company.

The spear was a lot cooler to watch than a choke slam.

The problem with the TNA spot is they kept wrestling after it. I have never heard of someone taking a bump into a flaming table and that not be the end of the match.

Because it was a big spot.

So? KOTM's have a big spot, Cage matches have a big spot, ladder matches ahve a big spot. I guess after the big spot the match has to end. I know "But, that didn't involve a flamming table" - it's still a spot. I don't see what the big deal is to be honest.

I was wondering where BG was. Since he's basically a tag team partner I wonder if he'll come back. Maybe they can bring back Sean Waltman

Foley's just sucking up. Everyone knows that Flaming Table Spear was beyond anything TNA could hope to achieve.

Well the Spear through the table was more exciting looking, but Abyss's bump was a little more brutal because the flames didn't extinguish on impact so he kinda rolled around in the flames for a few seconds after.

Wow... he's already shilling for TNA. That is kinda sad. How is that sad? What is he going to say, " , I never should have come here! This is a horrible company to work for! I should have never left the WWE!!!"? Of course he is going to put over the company that is paying him to do so, only a complete idiot would do otherwise.

Unfortunately for Abyss, his stunt was with the sloppy brothers who spread lighter fluid across the entire table, and then put Abyss right in the middle of it so the flame didn't extinguish. TNA should leave stuff like this to the professionals.

I agree with Foley completely. Abyss is the most hardcore guy in mainstream wrestling today.
The problem with that spot was not 3D or the amount of lighter fluid used on the table. It was the clowns with the fire extinguishers. They just needed to do a much more thorough job spraying Abyss down. They barely sprayed him the first time.
