I'm looking to get into Jonah Hex, does anyone have any recommendations on what to start with or what to look into? I was thinking of buying the Showcase Presents, are there any others I should go for as well or instead? Showcase Presents is the perfect place to start. wait until closer to the release of the movie and you'll see a ton of stuff get collected into trades that was previously uncollected too.

I recently picked up the first issue of the new IDW Transformers reboot. Art is absolutely fantastic. The writing is stellar as well. Highly recommend. I'm a big fan of IDW, as I subscribe to 3 Gi JOe series as well and love them.

Can anyone recommend a really good cartoony comic book series? I really loved Kyle Baker's Plastic Man that came out a few years ago and I'm a huge fan of the Too Much Coffee Man series. So, I'm looking a satirical series that is full of caricature/cartoony type of art work. Any help?

So after reading a lot of X-Men and X-Men related stories over the past few months because of Second Coming, and catching up on things like Messiah War and Messiah Complex does anyone have a recommendation on a X-Men series to keep reading? Should I just go with regular X-Men because that series just started with #1 again? Or should I go with series like X-Force or Uncanny?

I'd just keep reading everything you've been reading (and liked) during Second Coming. I can't comment on the new #1 of X-Men, as I skipped that.

i'd keep with x-force, consistantly well written and the art is great.

Thanks guys.
I think for now I may just stick with X-Force and maybe gradually add more from there, the team of Kyle, Yost, Choi and Oback is just so solid that I wouldn't want to miss out on their run.

Right, I've never read a comic book in my life, never, but in the last couple of years, after seeing some the story's in them, and some of the Animated films DC has done based on Comics, I've actually gained some what of an interest.
So, could you guys recommend any Batman comics/novels, comics that are violent visually. Also, I know abut TDKR, and tbh I think I may get that one, also, I don't know what comic it was, but I've seen one where its Batman Vs. Superman, does that excist or I am just not seeing it properly
Thanks to anyone that can help

i think batman: year one would be right up your alley. it's about how corrupt gotham's crime is, and it's from the perspective mostly of jim gordan.
check out the hush and heart of hush books too, one of batman's most violent villains.

I was wondering does anyone read DMZ? I read a little of the book Demo and have enjoyed it and saw it was also written by Brian Wood so I was wondering if the volumes were picking up.

Hey Guys, I haven't bought a comic in maybe 3 years now mainly due to cost and so many crossovers. When I did read it was mainly DC stuff. Like many of us I am pumped up about the upcoming Avengers movie but I would like to start with Thor.
I know they recently restarted the Thor comic and was wondering if there was a good story arc to begin with. Any suggestions would be helpful.

The Thor in the regular Marvel Universe aint much like the Thor you will encounter in the film.

Start with the J. Michael Straczynski run (collected in three volumes) and then the Gillen stuff starting at 605.
If you don't want to get into all that, Matt Fraction takes over next month with 615, which will be a good starting point. There is also an overabundance of mini's and one shots coming out.

Thank you to Thorstopper and Joe for the help. Is there a street date for the Ultimate Thor comic yet.

Okay a few beginner-ish questions.
Where to start? I kind of like a Zombie Invasion story (if done well) and I enjoyed Kick-Ass. (the movie)
Where to look? I know of a shop around, but are there bookstores that I could get them from.
How much is too much? I'm a 'noob' so I'm not sure of the usual pricing.
All help is appreciated.
