Yeah, I know, it's an extremely vague question.
I for one don't seem to follow UFC as often as I like, and the last few shows I've caught it's obvious to me I'm watching for the same reason most new fans do. That goes without saying I've been a fan since UFC's inception, and I LOVE MMA.
So what I'm wondering is, what do the die-hard MMA fans on here feel is missing in UFC? Be it a division, fighters, style, you name it. Whatever would either draw you in more or make UFC better in your eyes.

I think what's missing in UFC that PRIDE had was the whole "spectacle" of the whole show.

I think the UFC is needs to work on having a better relationship with it's fighters. they usually lose fighters due to contract disagreements and or disputes with managment.

I think what's missing in UFC that PRIDE had was the whole "spectacle" of the whole show. Bingo. Watching PRIDE felt like something really special. The huge stage, the drum performances at the start of every show and the fighter line up at the beginning added a lot to the whole show and it made you feel like you were watching something special.

Ok, you got some one to agree with you, now I'll throw a disagreement out there. I don't miss the 'spectacle' side of PRIDE. Why? Because with the 'spectacle' feeling, we were also shown fights that made no sense, be it the freak show bouts, or just the fights that pitted some one good against some one with a 2-8 record. The UFC, in my opinion, is the most legitimate MMA orginization any of us ever have or will see. The only thing I'd like to see, but I know we won't, is an Open Weight Grand Prix to determine the undisputed P4P out there.

While I completely disagree with what you said about the PRIDE shows, I will agree with you about the tournament issue.

The tournament thing absolutely should happen. At least once. But it won't. Which f***ing sucks.
I would say the UFC is missing fans who enjoy a chess match-like fight. I absolutely hate when a fight is on the ground... Both fighters are working for a position...and the crowd starts boo-ing so the referee stands the fighters up. Jiu Jitsu is a huge part of MMA it isn't all about the KO.

Well, to be fair, I didn't like the Fedor vs Zulu like fights either, but those were never the main events. To me, it was all about the feel of the whole show, not just one mis-match. We do have a little tournament right now with Couture/Lesnar/Mir/Nog for the Heavyweight title but I'd really like to see one huge tournament too.
They've certainly got the roster for a 16 man OWGP: Anderson Silva GSP BJ Penn Wanderlei Silva Rampage Forrest Nogueira Randy Couture Brock Lesnar Frank Mir Dan Henderson Chuck Liddell Rich Franklin Kenny Florian Thiago Alves Matt Hughes

Even though I wouldn't want them to take the place of the guys, I think the UFC should implement a womens division. I'd rather see Carona than Jorge Gurgel.
UFC is also missing Fedor. Even though Dana claims he "sucks" anytime he can.

Yeah, there's a few things UFC is missing out on, such as:
1. A potential Women's division and the possibility of bringing in Gina "Conviction" Carano. If they are going to start a women's championship division, I sure as hell know I'd want Gina to be a part of it!! She's money GUARANTEED.
2. A LIVE weekly show like WWE Monday Night Raw, for example. If UFC could start one up, I don't know how it would go or if it would be like a Fight Night and feature a few fights or whatever. Or would it be just straight-up talking about MMA for like an hour. It would be interesting though.
3. Geez, how many great fighters are out there that aren't a part of the UFC, but should be??
- Fedor - "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler - Andrei "The Pitbull" Arlovski - Scott "Hands of Steel" Smith - Tito Ortiz - Royce Gracie - Renato "Babalu" Sobral - Nick Diaz - Jeremy Horn - Matt "The Law" Lindland - Josh Barnett - David "The Crow" Loiseau - Mirko Cro-Cop
If UFC could sign/re-sign, most of those fighters, then they'd be set.
Once Fedor is done with Affliction, UFC will scoop him up and sign him for sure. They would be stupid not to, considering the fights we could get out of it, namely Couture/Fedor, Mir/Fedor, Nogueira/Fedor, and of course, Lesnar/Fedor. All would be great fights.

Why would any of us want to see Nogueira lose to Fedor AGAIN? Cro-Cop has already stated that he would like to come back to the UFC at some point.
I don't think Fedor will come to the UFC unless he gets a kind of deal that he wants. I think that's the main issue behind him not being there.

Here's one that's relatively minor, and has nothing to do with the actual competition in the cage:
Isn't it time for the UFC to change up the opening credits and theme song on the main PPVs? I mean, that gladiator clutching the dirt has been around for YEARS, along with the nu metal theme song. They started using both before the UFC even got huge again.
They surely have the cash and connections now to create another really cool opening graphic, or to pay for the rights to a new theme song.
It would be awesome if they did a different one for each PPV like they do in WWE, but even if they just made one new opening sequence and used it for every PPV, that would still be something fresh.

Definitley agree with you man on everyone on the list besides a few though. Horn has fought a couple times recently in the UFC and didnt do well, or didnt show well. Gracie? No way, he was a legend back in the day but his time has way past...thats like bring Tank back or Kimo. Its good though that a couple of those fighters arent in the UFC, they need to regroup and get some confidence right now. I would love a tournament format PPV. The athletic commission in the US would never allow it, however I wonder if it would be allowed in oversea PPV's. I disagree with the tournaments helping decide a P4P argument though. That makes no sense at all. Lesnar would murder Faber, does that mean Lesnar is a higher P4P fighter then Faber? No way.

It did, I'll admit that, but I don't think they were the main drawing power for them at all.

Im just saying, that they did have them for sure..

I never said they didn't. But, they were never in the main event, and it was never the main draw for the events, so it's fine with me.
