Smackdown 7/31/09 Preview-Last Sunday at The Bash, CM Punk finally got revenge on Randy Orton by beating him in a classic Ironman match to become the new World Heavyweight Champion! Despite Punk just getting to the top of Smackdown, he already has to defend his Championship. He will go one on one with Canada's own, TJ Wilson, one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions! Can Wilson pull out the biggest upset of the year? Or will Punk continue his hot streak? -Also at The Bash, Chris Jericho defeated The Undertaker in a great match. We're all sure that this is far from over, but tonight, Undertaker will go one on one with Mr. Money in the Bank, Shelton Benjamin. Ironically, Jericho & Benjamin are the only men in WWE history with a 1-0 record against The Undertaker. Can 'Taker even up his score with Benjamin? Or will Benjamin gain even more steam? -Plus at The Bash, we witnessed the return of the "Rated R Superstar" Edge! He assisted Umaga in defeating Jeff Hardy last Sunday. Umaga's victory has launched him into title contention and he gets his shot next week. Vickie Guerrero has stated that she wants Edge to get a World Title shot at SummerSlam, while Stephanie McMahon plans on helping Jeff Hardy get back into contention. Plus, what will former Champion Randy Orton have to say about all of this? Tune into Friday Night Smackdown for all of this and so much more tonight at 8:00PM on MyNetwork TV!

ECW on SyFy: Tuesday 28th July 2009...Alright, let's see if Kev can end the streak of lacklustre shows at one. Nice win for Mark Henry over Ezekiel Jackson to start off. Wouldn't of been a great match, since they are both of awkward sizes, but to be honest, Ezekiel Jackson is nothing special to me. Mark winning is no problem for me. It's just one of those feuds that doesn't interest me too much. Did seem likely that Tyler Black would beat Gavin Spears to win the ECW Television Championship, just think it could have opened up, the midcard spot on ECW in my opinion is deathzone, as it's like the lowest spot you can get, unless you're midcarding Velocity. Wonder what Tyler will do on the ECW brand now The Brood has the ECW Television Championship. Some dissension in The Brood with Hade Vansen and Black? Wow. Interesting. Yeah, like I said before, the midcard zone, especially the match before the main event is deathzone for ECW superstars. Matt Hardy beating Jack Swagger is fine, as it doesn't show Swagger as being invincible, I'm just wondering when you're thinking of building Swagger to the main event scene on the ECW brand. Was surprised by Kevin Thorn interrupting the Mr Kennedy and Elijah Burke rematch for the ECW Championship, should set up a nice triple threat match for SummerSlam. Right back on track, good show.

July 31st, 2009 Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada Attendance: 18,655
This week’s edition of Friday Night Smackdown opens with a video package highlighting CM Punk’s huge World Heavyweight Title victory over Randy Orton in an Ironman match at The Bash this past Sunday.[ALL SUPERSTARS' NAMES ARE STILL CLICKABLE AND WILL LINK YOU TO THEIR TITANTRON/THEME MUSIC]The announce team of Jim Ross and Tazz introduce us to the show and promote the upcoming card, which includes CM Punk defending the World Title against TJ Wilson, Kofi Kingston defending the United States Championship against Harry Smith and Shelton Benjamin going one on one with The Undertaker! They mention how stacked tonight was going to be, but they are first joined by our new World Heavyweight Champion!CM Punk gets in the ring to a huge ovation, sporting a new shirt and everything. He begins to talk about finally getting his revenge on Randy Orton for costing him his first World Title reign back at Unforgiven 2008. He mentions that he will be a fighting Champion and he can’t wait to defend it at SummerSlam. He is cut off by the sound of Vickie Guerrero’s voice. She screams excuse me twice and says that tonight is not about Punk being the new World Champion. She says that tonight is about the return of her husband to Smackdown, Edge! Edge makes his way to the ring to a mixed reaction. He gets right in Punk’s face and tells him that he wants his World Title back. Now that he’s back from suspension, nothing will stop him. Stephanie McMahon comes out next. She tells Edge that he hasn’t earned any title shot yet. She knows that Umaga will be getting a shot next week, but if it wasn’t for Edge, it would be Jeff Hardy who deserves a shot instead. So she decides that next week, we will witness Jeff Hardy vs. Edge, with the winner getting a World Title shot at SummerSlam, against Punk, TJ Wilson or Umaga. Vickie agrees with that, but they are cut off by Randy Orton’s theme. He stays at the top of the ramp and wonders how Jeff and Edge are the only contenders people are talking about, when the former Champion always gets his rematch. Orton says he wants his rematch at SummerSlam. Vickie and Stephanie discuss it and agree that Orton can get his rematch, but it will be a Triple Threat match with the winner of Jeff Hardy/Edge being added. Commercial Break.
United States Championship Kofi Kingston (c) vs. WWE Tag Team Champion Harry Smith w/ TJ Wilson & Divas Champion Natalya NeidhartObviously, the Canadian crowd was firmly behind the Foundation and there will be a lot of them tonight as all three are in action. The match itself was rather good, although the styles clashed at times. Smith used his power to take an early advantage, but Kofi fought his way back after reversing a power bomb into a hurricanrana. He then nailed ten punches in the corner and hit a monkey flip. He nailed his trademark double leg drop but Smith kicked out. He nailed Trouble in Paradise but Natalya pulled the referee out of the ring, causing the DQ. Winner by Disqualification and Still United States Champion: Kofi Kingston (10:08) ***¼The New Hart Foundation saved themselves the humiliation of getting pinned here tonight, but Smith fails in his attempt at a singles title. As they leave, Kofi is in the ring with his belt, when he’s attacked from behind by John Morrison. Morrison delivers the Moonlight Drive and poses with the United States Title in his hand.Commercial Break. We return to see Jeff Hardy arrive at the arena. Josh Matthews catches up to him and tells him that Vickie Guerrero had requested that he doesn’t have to be here tonight as he’s not booked. He then tells him that he’ll be facing Edge next week with the winner getting a World Title shot at SummerSlam along with Randy Orton. Jeff likes the sound of that.Tag Team Match Finlay & Sheamus O’Shunessy w/ Hornswoggle vs. The Second City SaintsThe announcers state that next week these will be two of the four teams in a four way match to determine number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The match itself was decent at best, with Finlay and Sheamus looking strong again, but their hot streak ends here as Goldman put away Finlay with the Chicago Crab. Winners: The Second City Saints (6:14) **½In the back, we see Chris Jericho. He looks directly into the camera and cuts a promo about beating The Undertaker at The Bash. He says that he is now undefeated against him, but just like Shelton Benjamin, they each only hold one win over him. He knows that The Undertaker is not done with him and will want more, but he promises to make it 2-0, 3-0, 4-0 or however many it takes to prove how much better he is.Commercial Break.
Singles Match Shelton Benjamin vs. The UndertakerThese two have only met once before and that was in the finals of the Royal Rumble Mini-Tournament earlier this year. Benjamin got the win there, because of interference from Kane. As expected, this was a very good match and Shelton surprised everybody by holding control early on. ‘Taker took back the advantage after hitting the Old School and then Snake Eyes. He just got a two count with both. After some more back and forth action, Benjamin jumped up to hit the Paydirt, but ‘Taker grabbed him by the throat and hit a chokeslam instead. Instead of going for the pin, he picked him up and hit the Tombstone to complete the victory. Winner: The Undertaker (11:26) ****As ‘Taker was about to do his usual post match pose, he is cut off by the theme music of Chris Jericho. ‘Taker looks very upset at this. Jericho just comes to the top of the ramp and has a huge smirk on his face. He has a microphone and he tells Undertaker that he will never beat him nor be better than him. He says that every time ‘Taker thinks he’s won something, he will be there to shoot him down and remind him of the true owner of a Decade of Destruction and the true face of Smackdown. ‘Taker looks on upset and the lights go out. When they come back on, ‘Taker’s right in front of Jericho at the top of the ramp and begins to nail him with lefts and rights all the way to the back.Commercial Break. We now see The New Hart Foundation in the back. Natalya is about to leave for her upcoming tag team match but TJ Wilson stops her. He tells her and Smith that he wants to go out there alone tonight. He wants to prove that he can beat CM Punk by himself. The other two understand.Divas Tag Team Match Gail Kim & Michelle McCool vs. Divas Champion Natalya Neidhart & MaryseThis was your basic Divas tag match; it went back and forth for a short while. Kim was the star here, but in the end, Maryse put away McCool with a DDT. Winners: Divas Champion Natalya Neidhart & Maryse (5:09) **After the match, Stephanie McMahon appears on the titantron. She shows the footage of The Bash, where Natalya cost Gail Kim the Divas Battle Royal. She then says that since Kim was the final Smackdown Diva remaining, she will be granted a Divas Championship match next week right here on Smackdown! Natalya looks on upset.Commercial Break.
World Heavyweight Championship CM Punk (c) vs. TJ WilsonWow is all that can be used to describe this main event. They started off with the usual mat wrestling and two stand offs. After that, Wilson grabbed control and then began to hit Punk with multiple kicks. He nailed a spinning heel kick, stiff back kick and then a springboard drop kick. Punk gained the upper hand after elbowing his way out of the Rolling Stampede, knocking Wilson to the outside and hitting a suicide dive. Back in the ring, he hit his trademark knee strike/bulldog combo for a two. He went for the double under hook back breaker, but Wilson reversed it into a hurricanrana. Wilson locked on an Ankle Lock and had Punk in the middle of the ring. He managed to roll forward and break free. Punk missed his spring board clothesline and Wilson delivered a stiff kick to the jaw for a very close two count. Wilson went for his Springboard Front Flip Neck Breaker, but Punk caught him on his shoulders and dropped him down in the Go to Sleep for the win. Winner and Still World Heavyweight Champion: CM Punk (16:41) ****½The crowd was split with the decision but everybody was impressed with Wilson’s performance. As Punk was celebrating, Randy Orton ran down, turned him around and drilled him with an RKO. Orton stood over Punk’s lifeless body. The announcers mention that Punk has some issues as he has Orton, Edge, and Jeff Hardy to worry about for SummerSlam and Umaga next week.© WWE 2009

The opening segment was great. I love that it will be Punk/Wilson/Umaga versus Randy Orton versus Edge/Hardy as Summer Slam. I love the New Hart Foundation not allowing a pinfall to occur and giving Kofi Kingston the match. The Second City Saints winning makes sense as they are the better team. I love Chris Jericho wanting to prove he is better than the Undertaker. Jericho/Undertaker is my favorite feud that is currently happening. Undertaker defeating Shelton Benjamin makes sense. I love Undertaker attacking Jericho to the backstage area. I wasn’t expecting Wilson to defeat Punk but a part of me was hoping he would.

Raw 8/3/09 Preview-Last week on Raw, MVP and John Cena lost to Triple H and JBL thanks to a miscommunication between the two. Cena nailed MVP by accident opening the door for JBL. Cena and MVP argued as the show went off the air. Tonight's main event involves a rematch from back at Judgment Day, as Triple H will go one on one with MVP. Can Triple H even up the score? Or will MVP beat him again on his road to SummerSlam? -Speaking of Triple H, he said he has something in store for Batista tonight, but there's no telling what that could be. Nobody knows, but rumors state that Triple H has hired somebody to take out "The Animal" before their big Street Fight at SummerSlam. -Last week, Cabinet member Ryan Braddock defeated R-Truth in a tough match. Also, Kaval staked his claim for a shot at the Intercontinental Championship. Tonight, Kaval will go one on one with Braddock in a preview of next week's match. Next week, we will see Braddock, R-Truth and Kaval face off with a shot at the Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam on the line! Tune into the USA Network tonight at 9:00PM for all of this and more!

WWE SmackDown: Friday 31st July 2009...Decent opening promo to start things off with CM Punk celebrating his Ironman World Heavyweight Championship defense further, from Great American Bash. Wow, I'd enjoy a fatal-4-way match at SummerSlam with Umaga, Edge and Randy Orton all contending for the title shot, that'd be different, aswell. Fair opening contest with Kofi Kingston barely walking out of a match with Harry Smith still the WWE United States Champion. It got Harry Smith over as being dangerous, that's for sure. Second City Saints beating Finlay and Hornswoggle is okay, but from what I see, it's a match that would seperate the crowd in two. Great first-hour main event win for The Undertaker over Shelton Benjamin, and I remember their mini-feud from earlier this year. Chris Jericho and 'Taker should occur again at SummerSlam, it'd be best. Win for Natalya and Maryse is okay, nothing too special, though. Awesome World Heavyweight Championship defense by CM Punk over TJ Wilson, couldn't see TJ retaining, really. My only complaint is Punk having gone sixty minutes two days before and then putting on a fifteen minute mark here. Surely he'd be knackered. Nontheless, good show. Show of the week.

Smackdown, July 31st - Like the little detail about Punk wearing a new shirt. I'm a sucker for little details like that. Really enjoyed the Opening Promo, Triple Threat at SummerSlam should be great. The match between Kofi and Smith sounded good, and I like the ending to it. A Morrison/Kofi feud is awesome. Like the Second City Saints picking up the win here, and would enjoy it if they were to feud with the Foundation. Nice Jericho Promo. Shelton/Taker sounded great, would've been a fantastic match in real life, good to see them get a nice amount of time in this one. Love the aftermath of the match, especially the lights going out and 'Taker being right in front of Jericho. The Divas Tag sounded OK, look forward to Kim/Natalya next week. McCool getting pinned makes sense, considering Kim getting the Title match next week. Punk vs Wilson sounded fantastic, brilliant ending. Liked Orton RKO'ing Punk, and like I said before, the Triple Threat should be a great match. Thoroughly enjoyed this great show, and look forward to the rest of this diary.

Raw opens with the usual highlight video package showing the events of last week. It focuses on MVP and John Cena going face to face and then teaming up later in the night. It also showcases when Cena accidentally hit MVP, costing them the match.Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole give us a warm welcome to tonight’s broadcast and they go straight into talking about the tension between MVP and John Cena last week. They then bring up tonight’s huge main event, which will pit MVP, one on one against Triple H. Plus, we will hear from the WWE Champion himself, John Cena!Triple H’s theme music hits as he makes his way to the ring. He gets in the ring and begins to talk about his upcoming Street Fight with Batista at SummerSlam. He mentions that after August 23rd, he will finally rid himself of Batista, and put an end to a rivalry that has been brewing since 2005. He promises to avenge his WrestleMania 21 loss as well. HHH then says that he has a surprise for Batista tonight, because he has hired somebody to soften him up. JBL’s theme music hits as he comes to the top of the ramp. JBL says that it won’t be himself who will be handling Batista tonight, but it will be the future World Tag Team Champions, Jayson Paul & Shad Gaspard! Batista’s music hits, scaring both men and JBL begins to retreat down the ramp. From the crowd, Batista appears. He gets in the ring, turns Triple H around and plants him with a spinebuster. He taunts with the crowd, who is going wild. Commercial Break.
Non-Title Tag Team Match World Tag Team Champions Legacy w/ Ted Dibiase Jr. vs. Tyler Reks and Johnny CurtisLegacy seems to be floating around at the moment, as this was mainly filler. Curtis & Reks did manage to get in some decent offense, but not too much. After missing the Big Kahuna, [springboard moonsault] Joe Henning put away Reks with the Perfect Plex. Winners: World Tag Team Champions Legacy (6:02) **¼After the match, Ted Dibiase Jr. got on the microphone. He says that he feels like Legacy hasn’t made an impact in a few weeks. He said that he lost to Batista last week and the week before that; Cody Rhodes was screwed out of his WWE Title victory. Now, it looks as if they won’t even be a part of SummerSlam, because Raw’s last SummerSlam match will be an Intercontinental Title match that he won’t even be a part of. So Dibiase said that instead of complaining and whining and moaning, they’re going to bide their time until Unforgiven. Ted declares that each member of Legacy has asked and been granted a spot in a WWE Title Scramble Match qualifier after SummerSlam.Commercial Break. In the back, Eric Bischoff is seen in his office. Intercontinental Champion Evan Bourne comes in and asks why Eric wanted to see him. Bischoff tells him that he should watch this upcoming match because it features two of the three men who will face off in a Triple Threat match next week for a chance at the Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam.Singles Match Kaval vs. Ryan Braddock w/ Candice MichelleThis was better than Braddock’s win over R-Truth last week, mostly because Kaval is a better worker. Braddock held serve in the early goings, using some shady tactics to have control. Kaval fought back after hitting a rolling kick and then nailed a huge combination of kicks and got a near fall. In the end, Braddock went for his Lariat, but Kaval ducked and hit him with a Fisherman Buster. He climbed to the top and finished it off with the Warrior’s Way double stomp. Winner: Kaval (7:18) **½
Commercial Break.Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler run down the card for SummerSlam, which is just under three weeks away. They promote Raw’s side of the card, which includes Katie Lea Burchill defending the Women’s Championship against Mickie James, Batista taking on Triple H in a Street Fight and John Cena defending the WWE Championship against MVP!
Next, we see The British Alliance enter Eric Bischoff’s office. William Regal informs him that they would like a shot at the World Tag Team Titles. Bischoff mentions that the tag team scene in the WWE is really hot right now and they would have to earn a shot with some victories in tag team action. Regal and Burchill promise to be the next World Tag Team Champions.
We now see John Cena in his locker room, when MVP comes in. He tells Cena that after watching the tape, he saw that Cena hit him by accident last week. He doesn’t apologize though, because he said he’s not going to show Cena any sign of weakness and he promises to take the WWE Title at SummerSlam. Cena respectfully accepts his non-apology and tells him to bring it at SummerSlam.Commercial Break.
Handicap Match Batista vs. Jayson Paul & Shad GaspardBatista was down throughout the majority of this match. He dominated the early part when he was in there with Paul, who is small. Once Gaspard got the tag, he wore down The Animal and that allowed the former Cryme Tyme to use double team moves to wear him down. Eventually, too much showboating would cost them as Batista took advantage of an opening and began his comeback. He nailed Gaspard with a huge spinebuster and then put away Paul with the Batista Bomb to gain victory. Winner: Batista (10:29) **½As Batista celebrated with the fans, we cut to a shot in the back of Triple H arguing with JBL about how he wasted his money on JBL’s clients because they couldn’t get the job done. JBL says he’s furious with his clients as well, but Triple H will get none of his money back. HHH storms off upset.Commercial Break.
Divas Match Layla London w/ Women’s Champion Katie Lea Burchill vs. Mickie JamesJames carried this match throughout as Layla isn’t the best in ring wise. Burchill attempted to cheat on her friend’s behalf a few times, but James managed to get through it all. She would end up ducking a spinning kick and then nailing Layla with the Mick Kick. Winner: Mickie James (5:11) **Katie Lea ran in the ring to attack James, but she was ready for it and she leveled her with some stiff forearm shots. She knocked her to the outside and Katie Lea and Layla retreated up the ramp.Commercial Break.WWE Champion John Cena’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring and gets on commentary for the upcoming main event match.Singles Match MVP w/ Eve vs. Triple HThis was easily the match of the night. At Judgment Day, their encounter was based around MVP being mad at HHH for Pedigreeing Eve. Tonight, it was about who is better and the match began with the usual early mat work. After that, HHH took control and worked on MVP’s arm. MVP managed to make his comeback and hit his big boot in the corner for a two count. He went for the Playmaker but HHH reversed it into the Pedigree. MVP back body dropped him over before he could hit it though. He went for the Drive-By kick but HHH nailed him with a low blow as he ran in. Winner by Disqualification: MVP (12:32) ***¼HHH then attempted to his the Pedigree on MVP, but Cena ran in the ring and began to fight with him. HHH raked him in the eyes and Cena stumbled away. HHH dropped down and got out of the ring. Cena, still blinded, stumbled around the ring and eventually bumped into MVP, who was getting up. Cena grabbed him and nailed him with the FU. He celebrated what he did until his vision returned and then he looked upset with himself.© WWE 2009

WWE RAW: Monday 3rd August 2009...Nice promo to start things off with Triple H walking out and cutting a promo. His feud with Batista has certainly been an entertaining one, looking forward to its climax at SummerSlam, heck, those two at Hell In A Cell in October would be awesome. Nice way to get John Bradshaw Layfield and Batista involved in the segment aswell. Legacy beating Tyler Reks and Johnny Curtis is fine, very weak opening contest though it did get Cody Rhodes and Joe Hennig over as World Tag Team Champions. I'm thinking it's nearly time to unify the WWE Tag Team Championship and the World Tag Team Championships, really. There isn't much of a tag team division on the RAW brand, to be honest. Legacy promo sounded alright, but talk about pre-planning. The RAW after SummerSlam qualifying matches for the Scramble at Unforgiven/Breaking Point is three weeks away. I hope Ted Dibiase gets into the WWE Championship Scramble. He needs to be pushed further than just being Legacy's non-achieving mid-card leader. Kaval beating Ryan Braddock is fine and got Kaval over well. The Cabinet seems so weak in my mind, though. It's like John Bradshaw Layfield and The New JOB Squad. Ah, good sly way to get JBL out of the match with Batista, pawning Jayson Paul and Shad Gaspard of the Cabinet on Batista, Batista winning is fine, glad it wasn't one-sided, too. Fair womens match kept simple and short. I do see Mickie James taking the WWE Womens Championship from Katie-Lea Burchill soon. Nice main event with an unfortunately screwy finish, but it did elevate MVP to the next level, even if Triple H disqualified himself. John Cena making the save is nice. More dissension between Cena and MVP is nice, good show overall. Removed last week's dire show from our memories.

- Great win for Legacy and it gets Reks and Curtis on the card. Legacy look strong. - Spots in qualifiers for legacy? I think DiBise will get in. - Kaval winning is cool buyt it makes Braddock look weak for some reason. - I'd LOVE to see a English champion or better Champions. - Nice to see respect between MVP and Cena. - Batista winning is aweomse as it makes him look strong. - The Cabinet lost tonight. - Mickie James's win is good and puts her in line fore a title shot. - Great main finish as it makes neither man look weak. Cena. MVP for WWE Champ.

ECW 8/4/09 Preview-Last week, ECW Champion Mr. Kennedy defended his title against Elijah Burke in a great match. Kennedy seemed to have a great chance to retain when the lights went out and both he & Burke we knocked out and Kevin Thorn stood tall. ECW General Manager has promised to make an announcement regarding the ECW Title match at the upcoming SummerSlam Pay-Per-View. What could this possibly be? Who will it involve? -Also last week, we witnessed history as Tyler Black became just the fourth Television Champion in WWE history when he defeated Gavin Spears. His fellow Brood member Hade Vansen seemed to try to sabotage the victory and was bitter after the match. Tonight though, Black will team with Vansen to take on former Champion Spears and the Hurricane. Can the Brood co-exist tonight? Or will Spears or Hurricane get back into contention? -Tonight's main event will be an Extreme Rules match pitting ECW's two biggest mammoths, Ezekiel Jackson and Mark Henry. Last week, Henry ended Jackon's undefeated streak since coming to ECW and Ezekiel asked for a rematch. The score is tied at one between these two and tonight will be the rubber match to see who truly is ECW's biggest monster. Tune into the Sci-Fi Network tonight at 9:00PM for all of this and more tonight!

I enjoyed the opening segment. Triple H finding a brief alliance in John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield’s henchman Jayson Paul & Shad Gaspard is good. I hope the duo can actually hold their own against Batista as it will damage them to get squashed. I like Batista nailing Triple H with the Spinebuster to continue their feud. Tyler Reks and Johnny Curtis are great talents, but they are lackluster compared to Legacy so obviously they deserved to lose. I like Ted Dibiase Jr. getting microphone time as it allows himself to better his mic skills. I like that he addressed that Legacy has been used and I love that they have been added to the Scramble match that is quite some time away. I love the way you have built up Kaval as a serious contender for the IC title. His victory over Ryan Braddock was solid as well. I like how fair Eric Bischoff is, but was surprised to see Regal not throw a fit that the tag titles were simply not awarded to him. I do hope Regal and Burchill find themselves as champions soon. The MVP push is great and I hope you give him the strap. Very happy Batista did not squash Paul and Gaspard, but he had to obviously win the match. I love Triple H being upset with Batista’s victory. I love Triple H nailing a low blow causing MVP to win the huge main event via disqualification. I love John Cena nailing the FU on MVP!

Tonight’s ECW opens with a video showing how last week’s ECW Title match ended, with both Mr. Kennedy and Elijah Burke covered in bloodbaths.Todd Grisham and Matt Striker welcome us to tonight’s edition of ECW. They remind us that Theodore Long has promised to close the show with an announcement regarding the ECW Title match at SummerSlam. Plus, we will witness tag team action, a rematch between Jack Swagger and Matt Hardy and an Extreme Rules main event pitting Ezekiel Jackson against Mark Henry.Singles Match Jack Swagger vs. Matt HardySwagger came out very aggressive in this one, looking to avenge his loss last week. He started out hot and had Hardy reeling, but he eventually managed to stop Swagger’s flurry when he ducked a punch and nailed the Side Effect. He only got a two count though and then went for his second rope leg drop, only to have Swagger move out of the way. In the end though, Swagger hit the Gutwrench Power Bomb to pick up a huge victory over a former ECW Champion. Winner: Jack Swagger (11:15) ***½Swagger celebrated the clean victory he just picked up when the camera cut to the backstage area. In the back, we see Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Miranda Rodriguez & Alicia Fox talking about their nights out on the town and how good they all look, when Miz mentions that he was part of a good looking tag team before. He said the only thing that made his old team look even better than they originally were, was Tag Team gold. Ziggler seems to agree as they begin to discuss that.Commercial Break. We return to see Josh Matthews standing by with ECW Champion Mr. Kennedy. He asks Kennedy about his feelings concerning Kevin Thorn’s attack last week and Theodore Long’s decision on the ECW Title at SummerSlam. Kennedy says that he thought he was done with the Fanged Freak at The Bash, but it seems he didn’t get enough. He also said that it doesn’t matter who he faces at SummerSlam, because his run at the top of ECW will not be ending anytime soon.
The cameras cut to Finlay and Sheamus in Teddy Long’s office. They thank him for giving them the opportunity to get a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam if they win the Fatal Four Way Tag Team match this Friday on Smackdown. They promise to get the title shot in the name of ECW and Ireland.
Lastly, our ECW announcers run down the card so far for SummerSlam and then mention that Edge will face Jeff Hardy this Friday to determine the third man in the World Title match at the PPV. Also, CM Punk will once again defend his World Title, this time against Umaga!Commercial Break.
Tag Team Match Gavin Spears & The Hurricane w/ Tiffany vs. Hade Vansen & Television Champion Tyler Black w/ GangrelThis turned out to be a very solid encounter between these four TV Title contenders. Black was on his game as usual and again had the crowd behind him. He seemed to have the match well in hand at one point, but Vansen tagged himself in. He went for his DDT, but Hurricane reversed it into a Northern Lights Suplex, took over and finished off Vansen with the Eye of the Hurricane. Winners: The Hurricane and Gavin Spears (8:46) ***After the match, Vansen began to argue with Black and blamed him for the loss. Black told him that he should have never blind tagged in. They got into a shoving match and Gangrel got in between them. Kevin Thorn came down to the ring and also got in between them. He then suddenly turned and nailed Black. Gangrel and Vansen joined in on the assault. Vansen and Gangrel both hit their DDT variations on Black and Thorn finished it off with the Original Sin. Tyler Black has been kicked out of The Brood unceremoniously.Commercial Break. We return to see another return ad for Rey Mysterio. He will be back in two weeks and says he can’t wait to get extreme!Extreme Rules Ezekiel Jackson vs. Mark HenryThis was the best match of the three between these two monsters, mostly because they were allowed to use weapons, which kept the crowd excited. Jackson was the aggressor as expected and he was the first to use a weapon. He nailed Henry in the back with a steel chair and then used a Singapore cane. Henry fired back by hitting him with a trash can lid and then setting up a table in the ring. He seemed to be gearing up for the World’s Strongest Slam through it, but Jackson didn’t let him pick him up and he clubbed him in the back a few times. He then took the chair and leveled Henry. Next, he hoisted him up and dropped him with the Uranagi through the table for the win. Winner: Ezekiel Jackson (10:17) **¾
Commercial Break. The cameras return and Theodore Long is in the middle of the ring, with a microphone in his hand. He calls out ECW Champion Mr. Kennedy, who makes his way to the ring. Long tells him that he’s been a fighting Champion and he’s glad he has no problem with defending his title. At SummerSlam, he will have his toughest defense yet as he will face not one, but two of his biggest rivals. That’s right, at SummerSlam it will be Mr. Kennedy defending the ECW Title against Elijah Burke and Kevin Thorn in a Triple Threat match! The crowd loved the announcement and Kennedy didn’t seem to really mind. Just then, Burke crept into the ring from the crowd and he nailed Kennedy in the back with a steel chair. He picked up the ECW Title and glared at it as the show went off the air. © WWE 2009

I love Jack Swagger being very aggressive in his match against Matt Hardy. I do love that the opening contest was competitive and Jack Swagger winning was the right decision. I would love for Miz and Ziggler to get some tag team gold around their waists. I love Ken Kennedy playing a confident, yet cocky, character. Finlay and Sheamus work as a solid tag team and I love that they are getting an opportunity to have the opportunity to win the tag titles. I was actually surprised to see Gavin Spears and The Hurricane defeat Hade Vansen and Tyler Black, but I guess HurriSpears needed the victory more. I would shocked to see Tyler Black kicked out of the Brood the way he was, but I love it. Tyler Black can be a star as a singles competitor. Ezekiel Jackson putting Mark Henry away through a table was brilliant and I love Jackson’s push. Ken Kennedy versus Elijah Burke and Kevin Thorne for the strap is gold! I love Burke attacking Kennedy from behind with a chair.

- Swagger winning is good as he needed that win to boost him higher. - Cool segment I hope The Miz and Ziggler win tag gold. - I hope Finlay and Sheamus do not win the tag titles. - Not sure about The Brood losing but At least Spears and Hurricane went over. - Well Black gone from the brood, but he already has a singles title. - 2 weeks! hell yeah. - Main Event seemed awesome and Jackson winning is great, Henry should be over on RAW or SmackDown! imo. - WOW Thorn vs Burke vs Kennedy. I think Thorn could snatch this one. - Great at by Burke it makes him look strong.
Overall it was a pretty good show!

Smackdown 8/7/09 Preview-Last Friday night on Smackdown, CM Punk successfully retained the World Heavyweight Championship against TJ Wilson in an awesome encounter. This week, the Champion already has his second defense in as many weeks when he faces off against The Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga! Umaga earned this shot when he defeated Jeff Hardy at The Bash. Can Punk overcome the odds and retain the strap? Or will Umaga bulldoze his way to the World Title? -Also last week, Randy Orton staked his claim for a rematch at SummerSlam. He was granted it, but it will be a Triple Threat match. At SummerSlam, Orton will go against the winner of Punk/Umaga and the winner of tonight's WrestleMania XXV rematch. That's right, Jeff Hardy will do battle with his biggest rival, Edge, with the winner getting the final slot in that Triple Threat match! Can Hardy duplicate his 'Mania performance and gain a victory? Or will The Rated R Superstar have something up his sleeve? Plus, what role will Vickie Guerrero and Stephanie McMahon play in this match? -Lastly, the red hot rivalry between two of the WWE's greatest ever, The Undertaker and Chris Jericho, got even hotter last week. After defeating 'Taker at The Bash, Jericho bragged and boasted after 'Taker's match with Shelton Benjamin. Undertaker didn't take too kindly to those words and went face to face with Jericho at the top of the ramp, fighting with him to the back. This week, Jericho promises to address this. What will Jericho have to say about this? And will The Phenom be listening? Tune into MyNetwork TV at 8:00PM for all of this and so very much more!

Swagger picking up the win is great, the match sounded like it made him look good. I liked the little Miz/Ziggler segment, it would be great to see them win gold in the future. Tyler Black face turn! Yay! Hope to see him pushed up the card and towards the World Title once the inevitable feud with the Brood finishes. Rey returning will be very good, will be exciting to see what you do with him. Ezekiel/Henry sounded good, glad Jackson won. Triple Threat is great, and Burke attacking Kennedy is good to give him momentum and make him come across as a serious competitor.
Really enjoyed this show, and can't wait for Smackdown!
