Cool opening segment which builds the match for SummerSlam. Umaga winning is cool, Kofi looked a little weak though especially with Morrison at ringside.Nice heat for JoMo and a beautiful Moonlight Drive. Cool promo in the office This Vickie/Steph ting is working well. Divas filler, nice win for Maryse, last time I relied to SD! I Said I wanted her to win the Divas Title. I love all these promos and it set up for Benjamin's win. Glad the heels won and I think The faces will win at SS. SD X will be great man! No No No, Push Ryder and Hawkins, Push them not De-mote them. This is the only thing wrong with SD!. Amazing Commercial :-D. Really well written main event, Im happy with the result. I CANT ING WAIT FOR SUMMERSLAM.

I enjoyed the opening segment, I'm really looking forward to the match between the four men; hopefully Edge does end up gaining the win. I like the idea of Kofi evading Umagas attacks but then taking the loss because of the power game eventually coming into play, it's a great story to be told. Morrison hitting Kofi with the Moonlight Drive after the match puts him over.
I like Maryse getting the win and Gail then acknowledging her hot streak, I love the idea of a fighting champion scouting their next challengers backstage and such. I like Benjamin picking up the victory for his team. Love the idea of whoever leaves World Champion facing the Undertaker at Smackdown X, should be great. Filler match, glad Goldman won though; I suppose.
Punk pinning Jericho in the main event makes sense, makes him look strong going into Summerslam. I enjoyed the show overall and am looking forward to the next.

WWE SmackDown: Friday 21st August 2009...Great opening promo to kick off the final SmackDown before SummerSlam with Edge, Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy all complaining about the World Heavyweight Championship CM Punk is holding. Great idea to have as we are only two days away from SummerSlam's fatal-four-way encounter. Wasn't too sure about that opening contest as really it'd be hard for Kofi Kingston to keep on top of Umaga in real life, I feel Kofi is too small, so glad he lost to Umaga here. Also liked how John Morrison wasn't involved in the finish or the match whatsoever aside from commentating. I am liking the conflicts between Stephanie McMahon and Vickie Guerrero. A fairly okay match between Maryse and Michelle McCool, it got two and a quarter stars? Wow, that's great for a divas match. They usually get two stars according to your star ratings. Wasn't too great a six man tag team match with Finlay, Sheamus and Big Show teaming to face the foolishly small in comparison to the fan favourites, New Hart Foundation and Shelton Benjamin. Did get over the two matches set for SummerSlam, however. Glad Shelton didn't pin Show. Scotty Goldman and Zack Ryder's match illustrated how lost Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins & The Second City Saints have become. Didn't like this. I feel you've neglected them while Sheamus and Finlay challenged for the WWE Tag Team Championships. A great tag team main event, just I feel you could have had this a normal tag match. It was fantastic and all, but it's the second six-man tag team match of the night, and it would of been good in Mexico, but here I'm not sure about. Good show though, looking forward to SummerSlam alot.

[Poster Credit: Kemp]August 23rd, 2009 Staples Center in Los Angeles, California Attendance: 20,198 The Summer’s biggest show opens with a video package that goes back to highlight how our Fatal Four Way match for the World Heavyweight Title came about. It also shows what led up to tonight’s Street Fight between Batista & Triple H and tonight’s Hell in a Cell pitting Chris Jericho against The Undertaker. The video also shows quick clips of the three participants in the ECW Title match and Big Show and Shelton Benjamin, who will be involved in a Knockout match. Lastly, the video cuts to show some of MVP’s hardships in the past year and John Cena’s rise back to the WWE Title and how they are the WWE’s hottest stars and their paths cross tonight!
Our three announce teams welcome us to tonights sold out show after a sweet pyrotechnics display. They run down the card and hand it over to Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler as a Raw match will open tonight’s festivities.Intercontinental Championship: Evan Bourne (c) vs. KavalKaval made his way to the ring first to a lot of boos as his heel turn last week seems to have gone right. Bourne followed suit and also got a loud ovation as usual for him. The match itself was superb. We haven’t seen an IC Title match at SummerSlam this good since Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect back in 1991. This, along with Punk/Regal from Royal Rumble has helped put the IC Title back on the map. It started with a feeling out process and two standoffs, with each man getting the upper hand in one. Kaval got the advantage in the second one and ended up locking Bourne in an octopus type hold, but Bourne managed to reach the ropes. Kaval hit a Mongolian chop and then a head butt which backed Bourne into the corner. Kaval hit a few more chops and backed up. He ran in but Bourne hopped over him and got a sunset flip for a near fall. Bourne then hit a head scissors take down sending his opponent to the outside. Bourne ran off the ropes and went for a suicide dive to the outside, but Kaval moved and Bourne hit the guardrail headfirst. Kaval got back in the ring, ran off the ropes, jumped straight to the top rope and dove to the outside, nailing Bourne with a flying chop. He rolled Bourne back in the ring and covered but only got a two. He sent him into the corner and hit his stiff rolling wheel kick. He picked up the champion and hooked him for his Fisherman Driver, but Bourne blocked it and rolled into a small package for a near fall. They got up at the same time and Bourne nailed a big roundhouse kick, which sent Kaval into the corner. Bourne ran, did a cartwheel and then nailed a big back elbow right into his challenger’s jaw. Bourne climbed to the top and hit his double knee drop once Kaval got up, but he also got another near fall with it. Bourne climbed up for the Air Bourne, but Kaval met him up there. He seemed to hook Bourne for the Fisherman Driver off the second rope, but Bourne blocked it and knocked him to the ground. He then hit the Air Bourne to retain the title. Winner and Still Intercontinental Champion: Evan Bourne (15:27) ****¼Evan Bourne helps Kaval up after the match and offers to shake his hand. Kaval looks around and goes to shake it, but quickly delivers a swift kick to Bourne's head.
In the back, we see Vickie Guerrero and Edge. Vickie’s telling him that once he gets back the World Heavyweight Title, they can be back in control of Smackdown. Despite her talking, Edge doesn’t seem to be listening very much because he seems way too focused on tonight’s big match. Next, the cameras find Jeff Hardy, without any face paint on yet, sitting in his locker room thinking really hard about his upcoming match. Next, Randy Orton is shown pacing back and forth in his locker room. Lastly, CM Punk is seen, watching footage of what looks like the Jeff Hardy vs. Edge match for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XXV.Women’s Championship: Katie Lea Burchill (c) w/ Layla London vs. Mickie JamesJames came to the ring first to a very good reaction from the crowd. Katie Lea followed to mostly boos as the crowd was fully behind the fan favorite. They locked up in the middle of the ring and James backed Katie into the corner. It happened again the next time they locked up and Katie resorted to raking her in the eyes. That allowed her to gain the upper hand and put James in the corner. She delivered a few chops and then a high kick to the face for a two count. Katie began to work over her back and locked in a bow and arrow stretch. James rallied out of this behind the crowd and sent her off the ropes. She ran at her and hit a diving cross body. Katie retreated to the outside for a breather, but was met with a baseball slide from James. Layla attempted to get involved, but James blocked her slap and delivered the Mick Kick to her. She rolled Katie back inside and went for the Mick Kick, but Katie ducked, went under and lifted her onto her shoulders. James rolled forward into a victory roll for another quick two count. They went back and forth after this, but Katie again ducked a Mick Kick and nailed a spinning back breaker for a near fall. Katie argued with the referee and James began to get up. She used the second rope for leverage, but Layla grabbed her by the neck and brought her down on the rope. James backed right into Katie, who nailed her hair pull back breaker for the tainted victory. Winner and Still Women’s Champion: Katie Lea Burchill (7:28) **¼Katie Lea Burchill and Layla London reach the top of the ramp, where they are greeted by Paul Burchill and William Regal. Katie Lea raises the title one more time before heading to the back as Mickie James looks on, very frustrated.
The cameras then cut to Josh Matthews, standing by with Chris Jericho. He asks him how he feels about entering the scariest match of his life. Jericho responds by saying that he is in no way scared of The Undertaker or his little Hell in a Cell contraption. He mentions that he has stepped foot inside of the Cell before, so he already knows what to expect. He finishes off by reminding us that he’s beaten The Undertaker before, so he has no reason to fear him.
We go to Jim Ross and Tazz, who hype up next month’s Pay-Per-View extravaganza, Unforgiven, where we will witness the return of the Championship Scramble matches!WWE Tag Team Championship: The New Hart Foundation (c) w/ Natalya Neidhart vs. Finlay & Sheamus O’Shaunessy w/ HornswoggleThe challengers came to the ring first and got a very good pop from the crowd, most likely due to them having little Hornswoggle by their side. The WWE Tag Team Champions followed to a mixed reaction as they have become quite popular lately. Harry Smith and Sheamus began the match and much like their encounter on Smackdown two weeks back it was very even between them. TJ Wilson and Finlay did battle soon after and the veteran was taking it to the young upstart and that frustrated Wilson. He managed to take back control a short while later after poking Finlay in the eye. That led to the New Hart Foundation doing what they do best and that’s dominating. They cut the ring in half and worked numerous double teams as well as frequent tags. They brushed out some new moves including a double team flap jack. Wilson was gearing up for his springboard elbow drop, but Finlay moved out of the way. He slowly crawled over and made the tag to his nephew. Sheamus came in and caught Wilson with an overhead belly to belly suplex. He caught Smith with a power slam and had the crowd rallying behind them. Natalya got up on the apron and tried to distract the referee but Hornswoggle pulled her down. He began to chase her around the ring, but TJ Wilson, who rolled to the outside, shoulder blocked Hornswoggle to the ground. Finlay looked over and went to tend to his son. Sheamus grabbed Wilson once he got in the ring for some revenge, but Smith nailed him in the back. That allowed Wilson to superkick him and Sheamus fell back into a German suplex from Smith to finish it off. Winners and Still WWE Tag Team Champions: The New Hart Foundation (11:51) ***The New Hart Foundation celebrated along with Natalya up the ramp while the crowd booed. Finlay was still checking on his son as Sheamus began to get up. They both went to check on Hornswoggle and then Finlay carried him to the back.
The cameras cut to show Mr. Kennedy in his locker room staring at his ECW Championship, which is resting on his lap. There is a knock at the door and in comes ECW General Manager Theodore Long. Long wishes Kennedy the best of luck tonight and tells him that he’s confident in ECW’s match at SummerSlam tonight. He also tells Kennedy that even though he’s not supposed to play favorites, he does want to see him put an end to this Kevin Thorn stuff. Long doesn’t want to see a hostile takeover of ECW. Kennedy agrees that he doesn’t want to see that as Long leaves.
We now see a short video package showing the past between Shelton Benjamin and Big Show and how it led up to tonight’s Knockout Match.Knockout Match: Shelton Benjamin vs. Big ShowShelton Benjamin was out first to a chorus of boos. The crowd have Show a very warm welcome when he made his way to the ring. Benjamin attacked Show before he could even fully step over the top rope. He nailed him with rights and lefts and then shook the ropes, hurting Show’s crotch. That made Show fall to the ground. Benjamin seemed very pleased that he had the big man down and he continued to be aggressive. He leveled him with some mounted punches and then began to stomp on him. Show caught Benjamin’s foot on one of the stomps and tripped him up. That allowed him to get up to his knees at least. Benjamin ran to attack him but Show ducked and sent him over the top to the outside with a back body drop. Benjamin looked to really be down but Show went out there and tossed him into the guardrail. Show seemed intent on hurting Benjamin as he slammed his head into the announce table. He went for the knockout punch but Shelton managed to duck it and deliver a swift superkick to the giant and knocked him onto the announce table. The referee counted to four before Show got off the announce table. Benjamin then ran off the ropes and leapt to the outside with a front flip. He got back in the ring and Show soon followed suit. Benjamin waited for him to get up and nailed Paydirt, but he knows that wouldn’t get him the win so he got Show back up to his feet. He placed him in the corner and hit the Stinger Splash. He then went for a kick but Show caught it. Benjamin spun around and hit the Dragon Whip, knocking Show to one knee. Benjamin went for another superkick, but Show caught it and shoved him down. He then hit the knockout punch but didn’t catch Shelton flush as Shelton got his arm up to block it some. The referee made the count all the way up to nine but Shelton rolled out of the ring onto his feet to stop the count. Show was upset and went outside to get him, but when he turned Shelton around, he nailed him with his Money in the Bank briefcase. Show staggered back and Benjamin nailed him with it twice more to knock him out. He began to move at eight, but couldn’t get all the way up by ten giving Benjamin the victory. Winner via Knockout: Shelton Benjamin (14:14) ***The crowd booed loudly as Shelton Benjamin celebrated his victory all the way up the ramp. Tonight was a successful SummerSlam debut for Benjamin no matter how he won.
Now we go to a video package that goes all the way back to 2005 and shows when Batista defeated Triple H at WrestleMania 21. Next, it shows how Triple H had never beaten him until the King of the Ring this year. Lastly, it shows the build to tonight’s big Street Fight.Street Fight: Triple H vs. BatistaThe Cerebral Assassin made his way to the ring first, to a loud chorus of boos. He’s drawn the most heat of the night so far. Batista followed to the loudest ovation of the night. Triple H met him halfway to the ring and they began to brawl right then and there. From the start it was obvious that this was very personal and was about hurting your opponent. They brawled all the way back up to the entrance. Once there, Batista took control and slammed HHH into the entrance. They continued to brawl for a few more minutes and they eventually made it back to ringside. HHH regained control after hitting a low blow. He would then choke The Animal with nearby cables. HHH cleared off the ECW announce table, which makes sense because it won’t be needed for the rest of the night. Batista was beginning to get up so HHH grabbed a steel chair and blasted him with it twice. He placed him on the table and then lifted him into Pedigree position. Batista would block it and nearly hit a back body drop, but HHH managed to hammer away on his back and cause him to go back down. HHH went for it again, but Batista tossed him to the side and off the table. They took the match into the ring where they again went right at it. HHH would hit his signature knee smash and spine buster, while Batista would nail a fall away slam and a spine buster of his own for a near fall. Batista called for the Batista Bomb, but HHH raked him in the eyes once he lifted him. Batista rolled to the outside where HHH followed. HHH smashed his head into the announce table and placed him on it again. He set up for the Pedigree again but Batista tripped him up and he fell on his back. Batista then lifted him into power bomb position and power bombed him off the ECW table through the Raw table. The crowd was stunned at this spot. Batista slid HHH into the ring and was going for the cover but the lights went out in the arena and fire blasted out from the turnbuckles. When the lights came back on, Kane was standing behind Batista. He turned him around and delivered the Tombstone. The crowd was shocked as we haven’t seen Kane since Night of Champions. Kane left the ring as Triple H somehow managed to drape an arm over Batista to gain the victory. Winner: Triple H (18:08) ***½Triple H slowly left the ring as was in obvious pain. The crowd and announcers were stunned at Kane’s appearance and they wondered what it was all about.
An advertisement is shown for this Friday’s Smackdown X event. It will be a 3 hour spectacle, celebrating Smackdown’s 10th anniversary!
The ECW announce team takes over and we are taken to a video package highlighting the recent events between ECW Champion Mr. Kennedy, Elijah Burke and Kevin Thorn.ECW Championship: Mr. Kennedy (c) vs. Elijah Burke vs. Kevin Thorn w/ The BroodThorn came to the ring first to a large amount of boos. Burke followed and got almost the exact same reaction as he has drawn some great heat since his return early this year. Our ECW Champion followed and got a very big pop, the biggest so far tonight. This started out bad for the Champion as Thorn and Burke attacked him in the corner and double teamed him. This went on for several minutes as Kennedy was really taking a beating. After about five minutes, Burke nailed him with a sitout spine buster and went for the cover. Thorn didn’t appreciate that and broke up the pin. He and Burke got into a shoving match. This led to them going at it for a while, as Kennedy got time to recover. Thorn nailed Burke with a big boot and a shoulder breaker. Burke would retaliate with a German suplex and then locked in an armbar. Kennedy broke up the armbar and then all three men began to brawl. Kennedy would hit Burke with a Russian leg sweep only to have Thorn lock in a sleeper hold. Kennedy would rally behind the crowd and send Thorn off the ropes, but Thorn sent him down with a huge shoulder block. He covered for a near fall. Burke was quick to grab him and Irish whip him into the corner. He ran in and hit back elbow. Thorn fell down to a seated position and Kennedy ran to hit him with a face wash. Burke would follow that up with the Outer Limits Elbow Drop. This led to Burke and Kennedy dueling once again and Burke hit the 4-Up combo for a near fall. He waited for Kennedy to get up and ran for the STO but Kennedy ducked it and hit a perfect Mic Check. He covered but Burke somehow managed to kick out. Kennedy nailed the Green Bay Plunge on Burke and climbed to the top for the Kenton Bomb, but Thorn bounced off the ropes, causing him to fall onto the turnbuckle. From there, Thorn hit the Original Sin and got the pin to become the new ECW Champion. Winner and NEW ECW Champion: Kevin Thorn (14:29) ***¼Gangrel grabbed the ECW Title and handed it to Thorn who stared at it and gave a big smirk. The Brood left up the ramp while Burke and Kennedy were left hurting in the ring. The crowd did not enjoy seeing Thorn with the belt.
We cut to the back where Josh Matthews is standing by with MVP and Eve. Matthews asks MVP if he’s ready for tonight. MVP says that he’s never been more ready for anything in his life. He feels that tonight is finally his night to reach the promised land.
Now, a long video package shows the past between The Undertaker and Chris Jericho. It starts way back at Judgment Day when Jericho cost him a shot at the World Title. It led to them wrestling in a Triple Threat match at KOTR, then Jericho’s funeral for ‘Taker and their match at The Bash. It then ends with the announcement of tonight’s Hell in a Cell match.Hell in a Cell: The Undertaker vs. Chris JerichoThe Cell slowly lowered down as the anticipation for this huge match grew. Jericho was first to come to the ring and he was looking very smug. Much like Edge at last year’s Hell in a Cell, he did not look intimidated by ‘Taker at all. The Undertaker made his usual eerie, grand entrance. Once the Cell was locked, ‘Taker went straight at Jericho and got him in the corner and delivered lefts and rights. He kept firing away until he got Jericho into a seated position and Jericho rolled out of the ring for a breather. ‘Taker followed to the outside and threw Jericho into the Cell a few times. He grinded his face on it and was looking dominant. He went to continue his assault but Jericho delivered a low blow. He rolled ‘Taker back in the ring and worked on him in there. He would hit a one handed bulldog, enziguri, flying back elbow and surprised everyone with a double under hook back breaker, yet he only got a near fall. Jericho looked to be getting frustrated so he took apart the steel steps and slid the bottom half into the ring. He seemed to have taken too long though, because once he finished setting up the steps, he turned right into a big boot. He lifted him and went for the Tombstone onto the steps, but Jericho managed to flip over and have ‘Taker set up for his own Tombstone. He dropped and nailed it to the crowd’s surprise. He was still feeling the effects of the big boot, but managed to crawl over and pin, but ‘Taker kicked out at the last second. Everyone in the arena was in complete shock. Jericho was furious and went outside to punch the referee holding the key to the Cell. He got outside and grabbed a steel chair, the same weapon he used to destroy ‘Taker’s legs weeks ago. Jericho launched it to the top of the Cell and climbed up there. ‘Taker sat up and looked straight up at Jericho on top of the Cell, taunting him. ‘Taker began the climb to the top and of course, Jericho attacked him before he could fully get up. He stomped on him and then grabbed the chair. He once again hit ‘Taker in the leg. Jericho would deliver two more shots to the leg and then he raised the chair in the air. He went to continue but ‘Taker grabbed him by the throat and he dropped the chair. He lifted him and choke slammed him onto the top of the Cell. ‘Taker picked him up and was prepared to choke slam him off the Cell, but Jericho broke free with a low blow and nearly fell off the Cell. He managed to hang on and climb down. ‘Taker would follow, but halfway down, Jericho climbed back up and met him halfway, just so he could deliver a Russian leg sweep off the Cell and through a table. Both legends were down for a while until they both crawled back towards the ring, Jericho getting in first. Once ‘Taker got up, Jericho nailed the Codebreaker, but locked ‘Taker into a Hell’s Gate of his own. Everyone was stunned at this move. ‘Taker reached down and found the strength from somewhere to lift him into a power bomb type move, breaking the hold. ‘Taker fell over and they were both laid out side by side. Surprisingly, Jericho stirred first and noticed ‘Taker was down so he went to lock on the Walls. ‘Taker maneuvered his way into locking on Hell’s Gates somehow. Jericho would eventually tap out as playing possum led ‘Taker to victory. Winner: The Undertaker (27:21) ****¾The announcers put over just how amazing this match truly was. They mention that both men gave it their all in this instant classic and match of the year candidate. They then send us straight into a video package highlighting the long history between our four competitors in the Fatal Four Way for the World Heavyweight Championship!World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Edge vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Randy OrtonJeff Hardy made his way to the ring first to an enormous ovation from the crowd. Randy Orton followed to a mixed reaction as always. The same went for Edge and coming out without Vickie made sure he got some cheers. CM Punk was next and the crowd went crazy. His pop was equal to, if not bigger than Hardy’s. The match basically started as a tag team match of sorts, because Edge and Hardy battled on one side, while Punk and Orton stayed on the opposite side. Edge and Jeff fought in the corner and Jeff hit a few shoulder blocks and got Edge in a seated position. He then hit his Hardyac Arrest drop kick. Orton was getting the better of Punk though as he got him down after a full nelson slam. Orton now proceeded to stomp on each and every part of Punk’s body. Hardy sent Edge off the ropes, but Edge reversed it and Jeff went straight into Orton, sending both men to the outside. Edge waited for Punk to get up and he hit him with the Edge-O-Matic for a two count. They continued to go back and forth in the ring, while on the outside Orton tossed Jeff into the guardrail. Eventually, Jeff hit his trademark spot where he runs the rail and delivers a clothesline. He prepared to hit Orton with the Twist of Fate on the outside, but Orton back body dropped him over. He then set him up on the guardrail and hit his sick DDT onto the floor. Hardy looked to be out of it. It seemed as if Punk would now be at a disadvantage, but once Orton turned to get back in the ring, he was met by a suicide dive from Punk. Punk got back in the ring and battled with Edge again. Edge would nail a drop kick and the electric chair drop, while Punk hit his springboard clothesline and a snap power slam. Orton would slither back into the ring and nail Punk with an RKO. Edge broke up the pin though. That led to Edge and Orton arguing but going to double team the Champion anyway. Edge would Spear Punk and the get hit with a surprise RKO from Orton. Orton covered, but Hardy nailed a Swanton Bomb off the top, to break it up to the crowd’s delight & surprise. All four men were now down, but Hardy was the first one up. He picked up Orton and went for the Twist of Fate again, only to be hit with a Spear from Edge. Before Edge could pin, Punk ran and nailed him with the Shining Wizard, a move he hasn’t used since his independent days. Punk hoisted him up and hit the Go To Sleep to gain the victory! Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: CM Punk (22:44) ****Punk celebrated his win along with the crowd as Orton stared him down from the ring. Edge and Hardy were still down as the Raw announce team took over. They took us to a video package chronicling MVP’s rise to the top. It shows him come one person short of winning the Royal Rumble, one rung short of Money in the Bank and one step short of winning at Night of Champions. It lastly shows his recent altercations with John Cena.WWE Championship: John Cena (c) vs. Montel Vontavious Porter w/ EveThe crowd was very pumped for this huge main event and it showed. MVP came to the ring first and got a huge ovation, his biggest pop since his face turn. Cena followed and as usual, got a huge pop as well. The crowd seemed split down the middle. The women and children, for the most part, were all cheering for Cena, while everybody else wanted MVP. The two began with a collar and elbow tie up and Cena over powered him and shoved him down. He did it a second time and MVP went for a new strategy. They locked up again, and MVP dropped to the ground, tripped up Cena and locked on a side headlock. The two did some mat wrestling for a while, with MVP holding the advantage there. After some of that, MVP tossed Cena off the ropes and ducked down. Cena ran by him, came off the other ropes and hit the Throwback for a near fall. Cena sent him off the ropes again and hit a sitout hip toss. He climbed to the top and MVP began to get up. Cena leapt off for his leg drop bulldog, but MVP moved out of the way. MVP locked on a face lock and delivered some knees to the Champ. He sent him off the ropes and hit a knee smash for a near fall. Cena went to kick MVP, but got caught in a dragon screw. MVP was now gearing up for the Drive-By, but Cena dodged it and hit a belly to back suplex. He followed up with the Five Knuckle Shuffle for a two count. Cena picked him up and hit a fisherman suplex for another two. Cena went for the kill as he tried to get the STFU, but MVP kicked him away. As MVP got up, Cena charged at him for a shoulder block, but MVP caught him with a snap overhead belly-to-belly suplex. He followed it up with the “Ballin’” elbow drop for a near fall. MVP again began to stalk for the Drive-By, but again Cena dodged it and rolled him up for a near fall. He quickly grabbed MVP’s leg and locked in the STFU. MVP was struggling to reach the ropes, but Cena had it locked in really good. Somehow, MVP found the strength to not tap out despite being in the hold for forty seconds and he reached the ropes. Cena picked him up and went for the FU, but MVP landed on his feet. He stumbled a little but then kicked Cena in the stomach and nailed the Playmaker. He covered, but Cena just got a shoulder up in the nick of time. MVP and everybody else were in shock as he’s put away many people with that move. MVP got up, bounced off the ropes and nailed the Drive-By perfectly. He covered, but Cena got his foot on the bottom rope. MVP was in shock and his jaw dropped at this. He picked up Cena went to send him into the corner, but Cena reversed it and hit a drop toe hold. He then quickly locked on the STFU! MVP was too close to the ropes though and he managed to grab a hold. MVP got up in the corner and Cena charged at him, but MVP moved and ran to the other corner. He ran back at Cena and connected with a huge big boot. Cena fell out of the corner and MVP connected with the Drive-By for the win! Winner and NEW WWE Champion: Montel Vontavious Porter (20:04) ****MVP and the crowd went berserk as he celebrated in the middle of the ring. Eve came in and kissed him and hugged him. Cena, who rolled out of the ring, rolled back in with the WWE Title in his hand. He handed it to MVP and shook his hand. MVP celebrated with the gold as we went off the air.© WWE 2009

WWE SummerSlam: Sunday 23rd August 2009...Alright, business time. Let's get onto this big event. A grand opening contest to start off the biggest event of the Summer with the WWE Intercontinental Championship being defended in a fast-paced match between former ROH talent, Evan Bourne and Kaval. Was a great match, still unsure of it making SummerSlam, but glad that Bourne retained the belt. A decent WWE Womens Championship defense there by Katie-Lea Burchill over Mickie James, but two conseqeutive RAW matches in a row I'm unsure about. Glad Katie-Lea retained the belt however. The crowd would have been bored by this one, but it does serve as a filler after that hot opener. Again, I don't think that this WWE Tag Team Championship match would have made SummerSlam, it would of been pretty boring for fans in attendance, like the WWE Womens Championship match. It would of been better for Shelton Benjamin against Big Show to go on here, as at least it'd keep crowd satisfied by having a match not for the title. New Hart Foundation winning is the best decision as Finlay and Sheamus wouldn't be too good a pair as champs. Big Show beating Shelton Benjamin in the knockout match was pretty predictable as Show tried as a professional boxer but we all know that turned out appaulingly false. Would have been a grand street fight between the two steroid freaks, Triple H and Batista, and Hunter picking up the win is fantastic. Do like Kane attacking Batista, but not leading to Triple H getting the win. Kevin Thorn winning the ECW Championship is different, but really not too good. I can't see Thorn being a grand champion, but The Brood has been a big focus of ECW on SyFy in the past few months. Wish that Elijah Burke had won, but I'm just glad Mr Kennedy didn't walk out champion still. Really don't like the Hell in a Cell match being on this position of the card, you've sort of failed on spreading out big-time matches, as this Hell in a Cell match being here would decrease popularity and heat for the World Heavyweight Championship match and the WWE Championship match. Would have been great main eventing, even though John Cena vs Montel Vontavious Porter is the focus of the pay-per-view. The Undertaker beating Chris Jericho was pretty predictable. Great World Heavyweight Championship defense for CM Punk over Jeff Hardy, Edge and Randy Orton. A grand main event with MVP winning the big one. Very well done and executed as MVP deserves this. The only thing I personally dislike is that the Drive-By Kick gave him the win. I can't see that finishing Cena. Nontheless, a great show overall. Looking forward what odds CM Punk is to face and what MVP will do now he is WWE Champion at last.

- Fantastic opening match, Kaval vs Evan Bourne for the IC title. Would have loved to see Kaval get the win but I was happy either way. - Katie Lea being Woman's champion is a nice change, good to see her retain the belt. - New Hart Foundation vs Celtic Warriors is a solid match, would of liked to see Finlay and Sheamus get the win but once again I was happy either way. - Big Show vs Shelton in the knock out match was great, nice finish with the MITB briefcase shots to the head, looking forward in seeing Shelton cash in MITB. - Thorn's the champ! Thorn's the champ! Bloody awesome, great choice there. - Expected Undertaker to win the cell match, great finish. - Punk retaining the world title is great, awesome match as well - Looking forward to the championship scrambles at Unforgiven. - Montel Vontavious ing Porter is Champion!!!!! Fantastic stuff Kev. The finish was great because it kept Cena strong and showed that he was respectful. Fantastic show.

Nice little opener setting the scene for the PPV, brill choice putting Borne/Kaval first, great write up just about the right amount for a PPV, love that Kaval attacked afterwards setting up another match between the two, nice promo to show all the contenders and champ punk, nice to see Katie as champ something new, nice Y2J promo suited him well, not sure about the tag titles bing on the line but I like the match, a shoulder block to Horns was he on his knees?, nice face kennedy promo I have grown to like him as champ in this while previously I didn't, intresting Benjamin heel and Show face, love Benjamin getting the win although once he jumps to ME this will look strange with top guys like benjamin and MVP compared to real life, can't wait to cash it in, love the HHH/Tista feud and Kane coming in, good picture as well finding pictures of them screaming, don't like ECW being so high on the card, wow Thorn as champ wonder how Black will do now, amazing HIAC match the love that Y2J locked in the Hells Gate as he is master of submission, world title match was good and so glad Punk retained he's the top guy in WWE at the moment, wow MVP won well you built him up well, good job that must have been one hell of a write up, although I am fearing your reaching the stage where realism if drifting away if you get what I mean, good luck

Glad to see this is up! - These graphics are phenomenal. Glad to see Bourne retain the Intercontinental Championship in the opening match, I'm hoping to see Kaval pick up the belt down the line though. I like Kaval kicking Bourne in the head following the bout. Never been a huge fan of Katie Lea, but her retaining is fine I suppose. I like Jericho not being daunted at all by the HIAC structure or match. The idea of Hornswoggle pulling Natalya from the apron and then being shoulder blocked makes me LMFAO. - Epic moment. NHF winning is something I'm glad to see. LOVE that Benjamin beat Big Show, particularly the finish; with the MITB briefcase being involved. Hopefully Benjamin cashes it in and wins the championship down the line! Batista powerbombing HHH on one table through another sounds awesome, Kane tombstoning Batista is AWESOME - Can't wait to see where you go with that, it should be fantastic. Kevin Thorn becoming ECW Champion makes this my favourite diary on the board. I'm glad you had the Jericho/Taker match make its way outside of the ring, the idea of Taker countering the codebreaker/jerichos gate into a powerbomb sounds awesome too; would love to see that. I'm glad you had CM Punk retain the title, I like it when champions overcome the odds; particularly when people think they're pretty much bound to lose. I'm not a huge MVP fan at all, but him being WWE Champion could be interesting; hope you do good things with him in the weeks to come. Fantastic show, can't wait for RAW!

Can't believe I havent replied yet. Kaval vs Borne was a nice opener and Im glad Borne Prevailed. Kaval's heel turn is going well and it works so this match is heeel vs face. Nice touch viewing everyone backstage I like the Punk one, I can honestly say I don't rmember WWE ever showing someone veiwing footage of their opponents. Katie winning is great especially with the heelish victory. Unforgiven should be ace. Thank god that HD walked out champs. I don't like Sheamus too much. Shoulder block to Horny lol. I really enjoyed this next match, Benjamin winning is great too since he needed the win more. Kane interfereing was great and it sets up Kane/Batista. Loved the announce table spot/ One thing i did notice was: ''HHH cleared off the ECW announce table, which makes sense because it won’t be needed for the rest of the night.'' The ECW match was next lol, no biggy. Thorn winning came as a surprise! Since Kennedy only had it two months I felt a little meh. But He has been a big part of ECW. The HIAC was awesomely brutal. Best match of the night IMO. Undertaker winning is good. WHC Match was good too, with a nice go home sequence. Punk still champ is gladening (new word). and the one I was waiting for! MVP winning is just unexplainably awesome. I have respect for Cena in this diary. AMAZING Show. Your best ever imo. Thanks for doing this Kev, may sound weird but just thanks for the diary.

The opener sounded fantastic. Nice to see Bourne retain the title, and I hope you have Kaval and Bourne face off at Unforgiven. I really expected Mickie James to win the Womens Title, so Katie Lea retaining caught me off-guard. I love the alliance of Katie Lea and Layla. William Regal and Layla were a fantastic combo. Sucks that they were split up. The New Hart Foundation retaining is fine by me. I loved the ending to the Shelton/Big Show match. Very creative. Kevin Thorn winning the ECW Title is great since I actually can't recall it happening on the board AND you've built him up very well. As much as I would have loved Jericho to beat The Undertaker, I expected 'Taker to win since it was HIAC. I actually didn't see Punk retaining the title. MVP winning the big one? Cool beans.
Overall, a solid show, bud.

Raw 8/24/09 Preview-Less than 24 hours ago at SummerSlam, MVP finally reached the promised land and succeeded in taking home the WWE Championship. He defeated John Cena in a classic match, that featured no cheating or outside interference. It was just two great athletes going at it, man to man. Tonight, we will hear from our new Champion and how he's gearing up for his first defense, which will be in a Championship Scramble match at Unforgiven! What will MVP have to say? Will Cena be asking for his rematch? -Speaking of the Championship Scramble at Unforgiven, we will witness the first two of four qualifying matches. First, John Cena will get his first crack back at the top of Raw, when he goes one on one with Legacy leader Ted Dibiase Jr. in a qualifier. The second qualifying match will be something different as it will be a Fatal Four Way match, featuring Triple H, Batista, one half of the World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & a surprise mystery entrant, hand picked by Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff! Who will this mystery man be? What will happen when Batista and Triple H step in the ring less than 24 hours removed from their brutal Street Fight? Will Kane be around again & possibly give us some answers for his attack on Batista last night? -Evan Bourne successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship against Kaval in an awesome contest last night. Bourne attempted to offer Kaval a post match handshake and bring him back over to the respectful; sportsmanship ways, but Kaval answered with a swift kick to the head. Tonight, Kaval teams with Ryan Braddock to take on R-Truth and Bourne in tag team action! Tune into the USA Network tonight at 9:00PM for all of this and a whole lot more!

August 24th, 2009 HP Pavilion at San Jose in San Jose, California Attendance: 17,892
A video showing Raw’s highlights of last night’s SummerSlam extravaganza comes on. It shows Evan Bourne retain the Intercontinental Championship over Kaval, Katie Lea Burchill retain the Women’s Championship over Mickie James, Triple H defeat Batista and MVP finally take home the gold by defeating John Cena!Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole welcome us to tonight’s sold out edition of Monday Night Raw! Lawler reminds us that MVP is our brand new WWE Champion and that he’s ready to take on any and all comers. Cole mentions that he better be ready because on September 13th, he will have his first title defense in a Championship Scramble match at Unforgiven! Tonight we will witness the first two qualifying matches for it.“I’m Coming!” is heard as MVP makes his way to the ring in a suit and shades. He has the WWE Championship draped over his shoulder and Eve is walking down his hand. They get in the ring as the crowd is cheering them on. MVP gets on the microphone and begins to talk about how good it feels to finally be the WWE Champion. He says that it’s a dream he’s chased for a long time. Back when he was in jail, back when he was coming up through the independent ranks and during his entire WWE run. He mentions that 2009 has been a roller coaster year for him but he’s finally at the top and he plans on staying there for a long time. He talks a little bit about the Scramble Match coming up and said that he was very unsuccessful in it last year, but that was a different MVP. This new and improved MVP is a winner and he promises to do all it takes to retain his belt and be the most “Ballin” champion in WWE history. The crowd pops for that as we head to the back. Eric Bischoff and Sean Morley are seen watching on a monitor. Bischoff tells Morley that he doesn’t know who to add to tonight’s Fatal Four Way main event. He needs a great wrestler who deserves a shot at the WWE Title at Unforgiven. Morley seems to have an idea pop up in his mind and tells Bischoff in his ear. Bischoff doesn’t look sure about it, but says he’ll take it into consideration.Commercial Break.
Tag Team Match Intercontinental Champion Evan Bourne & R-Truth vs. Kaval & Ryan Braddock w/ Candice MichelleThe main cogs of the Raw midcard were on display here in this match and all four men looked rather impressive. It was a back and forth contest, with the altercations between Bourne & Kaval being the best. In the end, Braddock got the win for his team with a Lariat on R-Truth. Winners: Kaval & Ryan Braddock (7:35) **½On the outside, Kaval was battling with Bourne and Bourne blocked a big kick and dropkicked The Warrior. He turned around, only to be nailed by a Lariat from Braddock.
In the back, John “Bradshaw” Layfield is shown applauding the performance of his protégé. He tells Jayson Paul and Shad Gaspard that he has an important announcement to make in a few weeks depending on what happens in the weeks leading up to it. He tells them that it all starts next week with his Scramble Match qualifier.Commercial Break. We return to see Tyler Reks & Johnny Curtis talking with Sean Morley. They’re looking for Eric Bischoff but Morley says that he stepped out. They say that they want a shot at the World Tag Team Titles. Morley said that they need to go out and earn it and they can by beating the British Alliance tonight.Women’s Match Beth Phoenix vs. MelinaThese two continue to put on good matches against each other. They’re both trying to get back into Women’s Title contention. After some stiff competition, Beth put away the Spanish Diva with the Glam Slam. Winner: Beth Phoenix (5:05) **Women’s Champion Katie Lea Burchill and Layla London watched the entire match from the top of the ramp. Mickie James’ theme hits the speakers and it scares Katie and Layla. Mickie walks out and Katie pushes Layla at her and James nails her with some forearm shots while Katie escapes to the back.Commercial Break.Batista’s theme music hits as “The Animal” makes his way to the ring in a tank top and jeans. He gets on the microphone and talks about losing last night in a match he was so close to winning. He mentions that he succeeded in beating Triple H within an inch of life, but he has a problem with somebody else now. That somebody is Kane. He calls out the Big Red Machine. Kane’s theme hits as he comes to the ring with Paul Bearer. Bearer tells Batista that Kane attacked him last night for one simple reason. Back at Night of Champions, Kane lost his WWE Championship in the Six Pack Challenge match because Batista orchestrated a five on one attack on him. Kane is back for revenge. Batista then rushes at Kane and drills him with a huge Spear. The two men brawl until officials break it up, although it takes a whole lot of them. The cameras cut to see Josh Matthews standing by with Triple H. HHH is laughing at what he saw on the monitor just now. Before Matthews can ask him a question, HHH takes the microphone and says that he proved to everybody that he can beat Batista. He also now has two new targets. One is the WWE Championship. The other is former WWE Champion John Cena. He says that ever since he came back to Raw he wanted to prove that he’s the face of the brand and Cena is challenging his alpha male status here. He tells Cena to watch his back.Commercial Break.
Championship Scramble Qualifier John Cena vs. Ted Dibiase Jr. w/ World Tag Team Champions LegacyThese two have fought twice before, once in a Six Pack Challenge qualifier, and Cena came out on top on both occasions. This was a tight battle with both men looking pretty even. Despite cheating from Legacy, Cena was still in command at the end and he hoisted Ted up for the FU. At this point, Triple H’s theme music hits. Cena dropped Dibiase and was ready for a fight. HHH never came out and Dibiase came from behind and caught him with the Dream Street. He put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage and the enormous victory! Winner: Ted Dibiase Jr. (11:21) ***The crowd and announcers were in shock at Ted Dibiase Jr. advancing to the Championship Scramble match at Unforgiven. Commercial Break. We return to see John Cena upset about Triple H calling him out and playing mind games with him. Cena yells into Josh Matthews’ microphone and says that if he wanted some, all he had to do was ask. Now he has an enemy that he doesn’t want to have.Tag Team Match The British Alliance vs. Tyler Reks & Johnny CurtisThis wasn’t the longest or best of matches, but it was still decent. Reks and Curtis continue to show improvement as does the WWE Tag Team division. After a good battle between them, Regal and Burchill pulled away and snatched victory after Reks tapped out to the Regal Stretch. Winners: The British Alliance (6:37) **½In the back, we see Batista getting pumped for tonight’s main event, which is next!Commercial Break.
Championship Scramble Qualifier Batista vs. World Tag Team Champion Cody Rhodes w/ Legacy vs. Sean Morley vs. Triple HThat’s right, Sean Morley turned out to be the surprise entrant into the match and as you saw earlier, it was himself who suggested it. The match itself turned out to be very good with MVP doing commentary. It lasted into double digit minutes but the end came when the heels stopped triple teaming Batista. Triple H then nailed both Morley and Rhodes with the Pedigree. John Cena’s theme music hit at this point and HHH looked around, but when Cena didn’t show, he knew it was just mind games so he went back to his attack. Just then, Cena actually came sprinting to the ring and got into a fist fight with HHH, which took both men to the outside. Morley climbed to the top and hit Rhodes with the Money Shot, but Batista grabbed him and nailed the Batista Bomb for the win. Winner: Batista (12:41) ***The Animal celebrated in the ring, while Cena and Triple H battled through the crowd. MVP was clapping for Batista as the show went off the air.© WWE 2009

- New WWE Champion, MVP starting off the show makes sense, heres hoping he gets a good title reign. - Surprised to see Ryan Braddock still around, nice that you managed to do something with him. - Kaval and Braddock getting the win is cool, heres hoping Kaval gets the IC title soon. - Always nice to see Beth getting the win. - Kane vs Batista should be fun, I enjoyed their mini-feud on Raw last year. - Cena losing twice in two nights is a bit much, I like DiBiase getting in the scramble though and to be fair, Cena vs HHH is a huge match for Unforgiven if it happens. - Sean f**king Morley! Haha. Not surprising to see Batista win, I guess Cena vs Hunter is definitely happening.
Solid show Kev, looking forward to the WWE Championship scramble with MVP vs Ted DiBiase vs Batista vs .... vs .... I hope you give Cena and Hunter their own match instead of throwing them in the scramble somehow.

-Great opening segment, MVP deserves a long run. - Glad the heels won and that R-Truth took the fall. - JBL should get in the scramble. - I hope Reks and Curtis can win. -Beth winning works. - that Kane segment made sense, I like the feud so far. - DiBiase wins! HHH vs Cena for unforgiven - BA winning is cool I geuss, but I was rooting for Reks and Curtis - Batista winnning is awesome. Batista vs Kane vs JBL vs MVP vs DiBiase IMO.
Great show Kev looking forward to ECW.

WWE RAW: Monday 24th August 2009...Great opening promo to kick off the fallout edition of RAW after SummerSlam with new WWE Champion, Montel Vontavious Porter making his way out to the ring. Glad he mentioned his past being in prison et cetera. Should be a great reign. I am liking the idea of a fatal-four-way match for tonight and it was an interesting segment where Eric Bischoff had Sean Morley whisper in his ear. Great win for Kaval and Ryan Braddock beating Evan Bourne and R-Truth is fine, I really don't understand which side Kaval is on. Is he a Cabinet member now? When did he turn heel? Beth Phoenix beating Melina is fine, was a pretty good match there, also. A great promo cut by Batista following last night's match against Triple H, and I am looking forward to this Batista and Kane rivalry. Should be a heated one. Wow, Ted Dibiase beat John Cena? Fantastic. It does indeed look like Ted DIbiase is slowly becoming a main eventer and that alone is amazing. That and beating former WWE Champion, John Cena. The feet on the ropes sneaky finish added to effect, but it did sort of make Cena look a little bit bad. Who cares, I still see Cena getting into the WWE Championship Scramble match at Unforgiven with Dibiase. Win for the British Alliance over Tyler Reks and Johnny Curtis is fine. But Reks and Curtis have no real personality. Give them some air-time, some segments. With some work, they could be like the Edge and Christian of today. He needs a little personality. By the way, your URL work or the main event was pretty screwed up. Great win for Batista in the end, looking forward to Unforgiven already, I do see Batista, Kane, Dibiase, Cena all going after MVP's title. Great show overall.
