...PRESENTS: NWL LIVE! New York, NY 09/29/09 - 7:00 PMWelcome to my home ladies and gentleman, New York City! We are just TWO shows away from the Best of the Best tournament, which kicks off on October 3rd in Alberta! I'm Jimmy Pietrafesa and tonight, the Crush look to continue to add on to their commanding in the Eastern Conference! We are getting down to the important months of the season, so every match counts! - Before the show started, it was announced that the Boston Brawlers have made a few moves to their roster. First, they have restructured the contract of Steve Corino, meaning that Corino will be making $5,000 less a year, but he is getting an extra year on his contract. Then, the Brawlers have released Josh White and have signed free agent Shannon Moore to a one year, $14,000 contract! Moore has been sent down to the minors and Steve Corino has been recalled. Now, onto the Los Angeles Most Wanted news. The Most Wanted have recalled Jason Williams due to the injury to Tom Diamond. vs. Match #1; Devin Curtis [Los Angeles Most Wanted] vs. Cameron Stone [Boston Brawlers]- After 16:07 of action, Cameron Stone continued his hot streak as of late after defeating Curtis following a Cam Slam and pinfall. Stone was rolling tonight and Curtis couldn't stop him. Curtis himself seemed a bit off tonight and Stone took advantage of this to get the victory. vs. vs. Match #2; Brian Thompson [Chicago Warriors] vs. Matt Justice [Tri-State Evolution] vs. Ken Anderson [Las Vegas Blitz]- After 12:30 of action, Matt Justice once again put Ken Anderson down with a Double Underhook Powerbomb, to get the victory in this very good triple threat bout. Thompson almost got the win for Chicago a few times in the match, but it was Justice who took advantage and got the win for the Evolution! - Following the match, Thompson and Justice shook hands, but Anderson refused to shake hands with his opponents. Anderson told them he was too big for this f*ckin' league. vs. Match #3; Mike Bockwinkel & Evan Pagano [New York Crush] vs. Steve Corino & Tim Smith [Boston Brawlers]- After 23:41 of action, the crazy pirate Mike Bockwinkel couldn't stop the surging Boston Brawlers and it was their captain, Tim Smith who put down Pagano with a big STO for the pinfall. Corino appeared to not miss a step since being down in the minors for a few weeks. These four gave the fans a nice match before the intermission and Tim Smith looks like a beast yet again! - Intermission - - If you missed the update earlier today, Mike Bockwinkel & Cameron Stone are 2 of the 4 competitors in the Best of the Best Tournament. Only two more superstars remain! Find out who they are tomorrow morning! - Tom Diamond of the Los Angeles Most Wanted has sustained an unknown left leg injury and will only be out for around a month since it isn't very serious. vs. vs. Match #4; LyNN & Assassin [Chicago Warriors] vs. Duan Sanchez Jr. & Kevin Shamrock [Tri-State Evolution] vs. Chris Hammers & Trace Demon [Las Vegas Blitz]- After 25:06 of action, in the NWL's first ever triple threat tag team match, it was the Chicago team who got the victory in this great match, following an Assassin's Way from Assassin himself to Kevin Shamrock and the pinfall. Sanchez was very close to breaking it up, but it was too late as the referee already counted the three. Hammers looked like his usual self in the match, but he couldn't get the victory for his team. vs. Match #5; Red Dragon [Los Angeles Most Wanted] vs. Kevin Hart [New York Crush]- After 27:54 of action, Kevin Hart was able to get his hands on one member of the Most Wanted, but not the man he wanted. Hart made Dragon submit to the Sharpshooter after an excellent match between the two men. The crowd really wanted to see Hart stick it to anyone on the Most Wanted due to all the showboating Ace has been doing lately. Dragon put up a fight, but it wasn't good enough to beat one of the hottest men in the NWL! - Following the match, Hart told Dragon to deliver a message to Bennett. Hart then proceeded to Superkick Red Dragon in the face and walk off. Kevin Hart wants to get his hands on Ace Bennett badly. - We return to my hometown on the 22nd of October! Tomorrow night, we return to Las Vegas for the final show before the Best of the Best 2009 tournament! Get ready folks!

Very nice show duan man. No wins for LA is sad, but it continues the Hart/Bennett feud which is awesome. Can't wait to see the result of the BOTB.

...PRESENTS: NWL LIVE! Las Vegas, NV 09/30/09 - 7:00 PMWE ARE A MERE THREE DAYS AWAY FROM THE BEST OF THE BEST TOURNAMENT! Tonight, we are live from Las Vegas where the Blitz look to gain some ground on the Warriors, who have taken first place away from Los Angeles! Jimmy Pietrafesa here to report everything, so let's get started! vs. Match #1; Evan Pagano [New York Crush] vs. Brian Thompson [Chicago Warriors]- After 13:42 of action, in a battle between two first place teams, it was the eastern conference leading Crush and Evan Pagano who go the victory here. Pagano put down the slumping Thompson with the Calling and the pinfall. The crowd loves Pagano wherever he goes and he won them over definitely here tonight. Solid opening to the night! - Before our next match, Ace Bennett cut a promo on the Best of the Best Tournament. He told the crowd that they shouldn't even watch the tournament because he has already won it. No one can stop the best wrestler in the game today and that man is Ace Bennett. Some nice heat on Bennett to complete his alignment change! vs. Match #2; Ace Bennett [Los Angeles Most Wanted] vs. Tim Smith [Boston Brawlers]- After 23:12 of action, in a stunningly awesome match, Tim Smith actually stole the victory away from Bennett, who seemed very cocky in the match. Smith quickly rolled him up out of nowhere and got the victory for the Brawlers! The crowd was stunned, as was Bennett. This was a pretty cheap ending to an excellent match between the two competitors. - Afterward, Smith told Bennett that he just lost to someone NOT EVEN IN THE TOURNAMENT! Bennett threw a fit and the crowd just laughed at him. vs. Match #3; Chris Hammers & Trace Demon [Las Vegas Blitz] vs. Matt Justice & Kevin Shamrock [Tri-State Evolution]- After 19:21 of action, it was the hometown team that got the victory going into intermission, after Hammers connected with a Bloodrush on Shamrock in some great tag action. Justice himself has been hot as of late, but he couldn't fend off two of the greatest today. The crowd really loved this one, especially since their team got the victory! - Intermission - - In case you missed it, Assassin & Matt Justice were announced to be the final two competitors in the BotB 2009 tournament! Be sure to check back to NWL.com before the tournament for the official run-down. - Also coming up soon, the NWL roundup! Don't miss out on the behind the scenes of the NWL! vs. Match #4; Red Dragon & Devin Curtis [Los Angeles Most Wanted] vs. Cameron Stone & Steve Corino [Boston Brawlers]- After 23:01 of action, Boston was able to defeat LA earlier, but not here due to Red Dragon and his Red Dragon Driver to Steve Corino. The match was really excellent and the crowd was really pulling for Boston to get the win, but it was Curtis who saved the match after breaking up a close two count! Very nice job from both teams! vs. Match #5; Mike Bockwinkel [New York Crush] vs. Assassin [Chicago Warriors]- After 13:04 of action, in possibly the weakest match of the evening, the Crush handed Chicago yet ANOTHER loss following the Bockwinkel Special and pinfall. Mike was actually pretty normal in this match and he seemed to just be extremely pissed off. Assassin looked a tad off and Bockwinkel was able to take advantage of that. vs. Match #6; Ken Anderson [Las Vegas Blitz] vs. Duan Sanchez Jr. [Tri-State Evolution]- After 19:54 of action, Anderson continued his slumping ways and fell in front of his home crowd, after Sanchez Jr. delivered a SGM and got the pinfall. The match seemed a bit off and Anderson really looked just awful in it. The crowd was even booing at one point due to the lack of connectivity between the two men. Bad way to go tonight. - We return to Las Vegas, the sin city, on the 28th of October! WE JOIN YOU AGAIN IN ALBERTA, FOR THE START OF THE BEST OF THE BEST TOURNAMENT IN 3 DAYS TIME! GET READY FOLKS!

NWL.com - Best of the Best Update: Now that the brackets are set and we are only a few days away, it is time to ask who you think will be the Best of the Best this year? In our opinion, it can be anyone in the tournament because if you've noticed this year...anything can happen! - The 2010 Draft will take place in the off-season after the year is over. Each team will be adding two more members and it looks like the cap space will be moving up at least $25,000 next season! - Sean Shafer [Tri-State Evolution] is slated to return on the 15th of October, when the NWL returns to Hartford. It is up to captain Shamrock if he wants to bring Shafer up or keep him down in the minors following his return. - Minor League Report: Not much really to report down here in the minors. Eddy Valentino, who we haven't heard about much, is starting to come out of his shell definitely and is improving with every match. Shannon Moore has just arrived and will start wrestling within the week. Top 10 of the Week:1. Ace Bennett [Los Angeles Most Wanted] [Last Week: 1 (/)] 2. Kevin Hart [New York Crush] [Last Week: 2 (/)] 3. LyNN [Chicago Warriors] [Last Week: 3 (/)] 4. Red Dragon [Los Angeles Most Wanted] [Last Week: 4 (/)] 5. Evan Pagano [New York Crush] [Last Week: 5 (/)] 6. Trace Demon [Las Vegas Blitz] [Last Week: 6 (/)] 7. Chris Hammers [Las Vegas Blitz] [Last Week: 8 (+1)]8. Duan Sanchez Jr. [Tri-State Evolution] [Last Week: 7 (-1)]9. Devin Curtis [Los Angeles Most Wanted] [Last Week: 9 (/)] 10. Steve Corino [Boston Brawlers] [Last Week: 10 (/)]

Looks like an amazing events, why isn't Smith in this or Anderson? I'm going to give my predictions:
Ace Bennett, Kevin Hart, Red Dragon, Mike Bockwinkel, Evan Pagano, Chris Hammers, Duan Sanchez Jr, Brian Thompson
Then down to Hart, Bockwinkel, Hammers and Duan but as you said anything could happen but I see one of these 4 winning the BOTB, good luck and keep this up

Hopefully there will be some seed upsets but in the finals it will be #1 vs. #2 to culminate the Hart/Bennett feud but I wouldn't be surprised if LyNN spoiled that and won the whole thing. Sucks that Ace lost on the show before BOTB. Hopefully he at least makes it to the semis. Keep up the great work man.

NATIONAL WRESTLING LEAGUE PRESENTS: BEST OF THE BEST 2009; NIGHT #1 Alberta, Canada 10/04/09 - 8:00 PM Attendance: 4,000 (sell-out)
A video begins to play on NWL's nifty new jumbo tron and we see clips from through-out the season. Highlights include the likes of Kevin Hart, Ace Bennett, LyNN, Red Dragon, Mike Bockwinkel, Duan Sanchez Jr., Tim Smith, & Trace Demon. We then go live into the arena, where set up in the corner is Alexisonfire and they start playing the title-track from their new CD, "Young Cardinals". This is truly a sight to see folks! I'm Jimmy Pietrafesa, as always, and tonight, you will be witnessing some of the greatest action in wrestling today! We will see a total of 8, 20 minute time limit matches, were the winners will go on to tomorrow night and the second round! Before we begin, Jeff Gomez, CEO of NWL, welcomes everyone to the show from the entrance way. He told the fans he just wants to welcome a few notable people in attendance...which is sold out! Gomez points out Rick Martel, who is sitting at ringside, along with the lovely Trish Stratus. Gomez thanks them for being here tonight! Let's get on with the action now!
vs. First Round Match - 20 Minute Time Limit Match #1; (#8) Brian Thompson [Chicago Warriors] vs. (#9) Steve Corino [Boston Brawlers] - After 15:06 of action, in front of his birth state, Steve Corino was able to become the first man to advance into the second round of the tournament, after finishing Thompson off with an Old School Kick! The crowd was pretty hot for the opening bout and as expected, they were behind Corino. The action of the match itself was pretty decent, but nothing to really rave about.
vs. First Round Match - 20 Minute Time Limit Match #2; (#5) Evan Pagano [New York Crush] vs. (#12) Jason Williams [Los Angeles Most Wanted] - After 09:12 of action, the crowd was quickly silenced after Jason Williams, one of their own, was put down by Evan Pagano, who looked dynamite in the match. Pagano nailed The Calling on Williams, who actually looked pretty well in the match. Crowd was really pulling for Jason, as he is from Calgary, but Pagano quickly put down Williams' dreams, with a halfway decent match.
vs. First Round Match - 20 Minute Time Limit Match #3; (#7) Duan Sanchez Jr. [Tri-State Evolution] vs. (#10) Devin Curtis [Los Angeles Most Wanted] - After 19:54 of action, in a close called match with a ton of fast-paced action, Devin Curtis completed the upset over the higher-seeded Sanchez, following a 450 Splash. The crowd was completely split during this great match and these two really gave them their money's worth already. The two men really clicked in the match and Curtis definitely shined in the spotlight that was given him in the match.
- Intermission -
- Before we officially went to intermission, Curtis & Sanchez Jr. shared a hug in the ring as these two are extremely good friends. The crowd gave them a round of applause.
- Alexisonfire, the house band for the evening, played "This Could Be Anywhere In The World", off their 'Crisis' album. Crowd seems to be into them!
- Rick Martel & Trish Stratus announced that they will be signing autographs during the second intermission!
vs. First Round Match - 20 Minute Time Limit Match #4; (#3) Red Dragon [Los Angeles Most Wanted] vs. (#14) Cameron Stone [Boston Brawlers] - After 11:55 of action, the crowd really wanted Cameron Stone get the victory since he is a Calgary native, but the man from Wales, Red Dragon, drilled him with a Red Dragon Driver. Crowd was into the match definitely and it was an effective way to come back from a long intermission. Dragon definitely was on his game tonight and he became the 2nd LA member to advance to the second round!
vs. First Round Match - 20 Minute Time Limit Match #5; (#4) LyNN [Chicago Warriors] vs. (#13) Mike Bockwinkel [New York Crush] - After 12:34 of action, the crazy Mike Bockwinkel, who came out in full pirate form, fell short to the man from Texas, LyNN. The Alberta crowd was pretty hot for LyNN and popped when he nailed the Springboard Tornado DDT and got the three count. Bockwinkel kept saying "yar!" after nailing any big move, but LyNN didn't let it affect him. The action itself was pretty split down the middle, LyNN probably had more of the offense, but still split. Excellent bout!
vs. First Round Match - 20 Minute Time Limit Match #6; (#1) Ace Bennett [Los Angeles Most Wanted] vs. (#16) Matt Justice [Tri-State Evolution] - After 07:54 of action, Ace Bennett arrogantly put down his opponent here tonight, Matt Justice, following a Syracuse Drop. The crowd actually booed Ace, which he took to heart I believe and Justice fed off the crowd, even though he had little offense. The match itself was actually really good, just a tad short, but definitely good. Ace is the 3rd member of the Most Wanted to move on tonight!
- Intermission -
- Rick Martel & Trish Stratus are now signing autographs at the merchandise table! They are free and they won't leave until everyone on the line gets one!
- Alexisonfire covered "Raining Blood" by Slayer and the crowd went pretty crazy. These guys are really awesome!
vs. First Round Match - 20 Minute Time Limit Match #7; (#2) Kevin Hart [New York Crush] vs. (#15) Assassin [Chicago Warriors] - After 15:43 of action, in a back and fourth match, the Canadian Kevin Hart was able to defeat the captain of Chicago, Assassin, after making him submit to the Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring. A funny moment in the match, where the crowd starting chanting for Bret Hart and then just the Hart family. Kevin yelled at them jokingly saying, "I'M NOT THAT HART!" Crowd gotta kick out of that and they also really enjoyed the match because both of these guys worked well together.
vs. First Round Match - 20 Minute Time Limit Match #8; (#6) Trace Demon [Las Vegas Blitz] vs. (#11) Chris Hammers [Las Vegas Blitz] - After 13:42 of action, in a first for the NWL, where teammates had to face off against each other, it was the beast of the Blitz, Chris Hammers, who defeated his captain, Trace Demon, following a Bloodrush. These two shared a shake before the match and the crowd REALLY wanted Demon to win the match, as he is Canadian. These two had a ton of chemistry in the ring and Hammers caught his teammate and got the upset in the final first round match. The crowd gave them a standing ovation.
- Following the match, the two competitors shared another shake and Demon raised Hammers' hand.
- BE SURE TO JOIN US TOMORROW NIGHT, OCTOBER 5TH, WHERE THE BEST OF THE BEST TOURNAMENT CONTINUES! ROUND 2 IS COMING UP!

-The Model and Trish in the crowd? Awesome -8/9 matches are always close, nice to see Corino pick up the victory though -Pagano winning is great, more Ws for New York -Shocked to see Sanchez Jr. go out in the first round -This Could Be Anywhere in the World is a great song, I love it -Expected Dragon to win, glad he did as well -LyNN winning was the right move, sucks for NY though -LA seems to be dominating this so far, liked that Bennett won though -Funny spot during my match, so glad I got the win, especially with the Sharpshooter as the Canadian crowd would've ate that up. Hope to see some interaction between me & Bret -Interesting to see two teammates face off, glad Hammers won though
Fantastic stuff, loved the first round and can't wait to see it continue. This is HOF worthy in my humble opinion.
