I doubt I need to list his contributions from ECW as a whole to his time on commentary, as well as his managing roles, on screen moments, and pure genius when it comes to understanding the wrestling business and the fan appeal.
However, he's one of those non-wrestling talents that has been praised left and right so much its almost a given to believe he's great.
My question is, do you think fans have overrated his contributions and what he brings to a wrestling promotion?
Or do you believe Paul Heyman is one of the more entertaining and one of the wisest, if not the wisest, personalities to appear on screen in the last 10 years or more.

I really do think Heyman deserves every bit or praise he receives.

His only downfall was finances, his mind is unlike no other and can really cater to a crowd, even if that crowd is a bit mature

Paul Heyman was a creative genius. And despite what the censors said, despite what all the parental groups said...Paul Heyman had the BALLS to do what was right for the business and right for the FANS.
Unlike Vince McMahon who gives us the kind of show HE wants to see.

Anyone who disputes Heymans ability to book, please don't bring up the monetary stuff just because obviously he wasn't that great at it and really that's hard in-it-of-itself, go out and book an actual wrestling promotion and see if you can captivate the fans the way he did.

Heyman > God. No, it, Heyman IS God. No offense but that really made no sense to say if you're saying someone is better than something but then downgrade them to the very thing they were better than.

If he wasnt God, he would be better than him, if he IS God, nothing is better than him, it made sense to me.

I think he's a little over-rated. I'm not a fan of hard-core, blood, and guts in wrestling. I am also not a fan of gymnastic, high-flying wrestling either.

If he wasnt God, he would be better than him, if he IS God, nothing is better than him, it made sense to me. Yeah, I have to go with the downgrade not making sense. Should have out that in the opposite order. On topic, honestly, anyone who actually watched ECW during its brief tenure will tell you that despite sub-par production values and the lack of big name stars, ECW was way better than WWF and WCW. OK, maybe not all fans would say that, but I know many who would. Now with those two major detriments, the fact that he built that organization's fanbase to the point America had "The big THREE" promotions, stands testiment to his creative genius.

Heyman still to this day doesn't get enough acknowledgment for what he's done.

Very overrated. Ran a company into the ground and didn't know how to manage money and screwed his talent out of money.

Very overrated. Ran a company into the ground and didn't know how to manage money and screwed his talent out of money. 100% Agreed. He did worse than Bischoff with WCW, but yet Heyman still gets praised like a wrestling promotion God. His company got bought out by Vince; just like WCW did, but yet it never gets talked about how phucked-up, and mismanaged ECW was.
