I have noticed that just about half of the shows I have watched in the past 24 hours have all had Jackson references/jokes...and these were all mostly old sitcoms, standup acts and movies. Shows his impact on pop culture, even if a lot of it was not flattering to him.

All of this RIP Michael Jackson stuff is already getting old, in my opinion.

All of this RIP Michael Jackson stuff is already getting old, in my opinion. You have RIP Billy Mays at the end of your name, who did nothing for the world but make infomercials for Oxy Clean and Orange Glow. Honestly, if you have nothing nice to say about Jackson don't post in his memorial thread, that simple. Jackson who actually did have an impact on this earth by not only making great music but by giving millions and millions of dollars to numerous organizations.

It's amazing how many over-night life long fans of Michael Jackson have emerged since his death.
Pretty lame.
I made fun of Jackson before and I'll continue to do so.

haha...stfu.... he did more by the time he was 12 than you will do in your whole life...
should I assume some lame ass will quote me and make a molestation joke?
I don't understand why the people who don't like him post in this thread. Why torture yourself by reading people send out their condolences to someone you didn't even respect as an entertainer? Just pass it by and read box office results, new moon topics, or how christian bale is the best actor alive omgzzzz... Is your life that pathetic that you have to come into topics and post nothing but negativity?
Let the fans of M.J. have a topic to talk about their favorite songs and what a shock his death is...by this time next week the threads about Michael will be gone and you can all find a new thread to bitch about...maybe your wetdream will happen and someone will post a thread about that awful rap music.

We don't know, we can just guess. But he was proven not guilty on the second allegation. I agree aswell, its really funny on how people and the media are now suddenly praising him for his musical contributions and achievements but just last week were saying sh*t about him, these people are sheep and are just on the bandwagon, maybe its guilt they feel hearing about his death. You don't know what you've got till its gone.

I'm not a lifelong fan and probably won't be for the rest of my life, but I'm a fan of a good half of his songs. I've made fun of him in the past and I'll do it again, but it can't stop me (I know you weren't aiming that at me in general but I'll speak for everyone) or anyone else for paying respects to a man who had a massive influence on not only musicians across the world, but many people across the world. And that's an accomplishment.

To be honest, Billy Mays' death has affected me more than MJ's death, because unlike MJ, I actually heard positive things about Mays, and I saw him on my television every day. I have nothing against MJ, and his death is sad, but I'm sick of seeing "RIP Michael Jackson" in everybody's signature, on tv, and in everyone's name. It's overkilling it. It's also quite annoying when everybody is listening to Michael Jackson songs over and over.

Obviously MJ's death will have more effect on people than Mays death.

In 2 years time, Michael Jackson will still be an icon.
In 2 years time, Billy Mays will be forgotten.
