I went to an event when I was about 11-12 so I didn't pay attention much about types of fans there.
But you just described most of WF right there.

For me it is the smarks who think they know everything, and the ones carrying their belts.

Living in Florida, I attend TNA a lot, and while I'm friends with a good majority of people that go to it, but then there are other regulars I cannot stand. Seriously, some smell like they haven't showered in weeks, look like they just stepped out of the buffet, and just make me ashamed to call myself a wrestling fan. You are so lucky . I do hate it when people argue over which wrestler is better.

I work for a ticket broker, and I will tell you, by and large, wrestling fans are the hardest individuals to deal with when making a sale. Most are disgruntled and some are flat out rude. Very rarely have I had a call go smoothly when discussing a possible purchase of tickets to WWE.
Even on the rare occurrences when I bring up my own experience in going to shows and where one might want to sit, I'm rarely met with any sort of courtesy on the other end.
That doesn't happen with any other sport, at all.

God, I remember when i was a kid (Now 14) and went to a John Cena Signing. There were kids flipping out, and I was talking to the dude in front of me about wrestling. It was kinda weird while kids were about to explode of joy, while I was talking with a fan about No Way Out 2005(?) Same thing at an Indy show, I only marked the f out for Gangrel, didnt boo anyone. If your going to a local indy show, you shouldn't boo anyone, because there hardly making any money and you should appreciate what they are doing for you. In all fairness. if a guy is playing a heel in the indy company, it's his job for him to get the fans to boo him, so technically, that statement you made is kinda wrong. It's more about the "smarks" that act like they know everything about everything. Ok, so you know a little bit of facts, alright, no need to go around preaching it to everyone. That's why when I'm standing outside of a wrestling show, and I engage in a discussion with another fan, I like to either talk about what's going on in the world of wrestling right now, or something in the past. I try to stay away from the backstage poop. Yeah, Good point, but They were at a Rock n' Wrestle show and only one guy tried to play heel, The rest were trying to put on a good show. No one was really booing, and at the end of every match people were clapping as thank you. Saw Static X, Gangrel, and Lodi in the same day.

I hate the smarks. I also don't hate the kids who mark out. We were all like them at one point.

The only fans that piss me off, are the biased ones. The ones who have to defend their favourite untill they can't breath and their fingers bleed. The ones who only see their chosen wrestler in a good light, and can't take anything negative. Sadly, there are a handfull of this catagorie on here.. Well said, and you really feel like you're wasting your breath, don't you? Despite this, I remember a similar thread awhile ago about wrestling fans/IWC, and I'd also have to agree with this: I find the marks to be funny because they believe it's all real and it's just amusing to see their reactions. The smarks however are the ones that annoy me the most, they always cheer for the heel (I don't know why, it must be some unwritten rule that in order to not be a mark you always have to cheer for the heel), they think they know everything and are all that, and they complain too much. I consider myself a normal fan, I don't choose heels over faces or vice versa (even though I usually choose the bad guys over the good guys for everything else). I just like whoever is entertaining. Why can't some people think for themselves? I guess we'll never know...

My favorite kinds are the adults that try to prove kids wrong. Standing in line at a house show, me and my dad were talking about RVD with MITB (he had IC at the time too) and said he should cash it in on the next show. People standing behind me tryed to tell me that Wrestlers can only have one title at a time, I reminded them of Chris Jericho's Undisputed title reign.

Seeing children screaming at events is mainly the reason I dont want to have any children. I also hate seeing a kid who whines about how he cant see the wrestler or the stage being small.

Oh yeah, you meet the best at the local wrestling signings and conventions. I know alot of people are into it, but I still think nothing looks more rediculious than an old guy with a potbelly and a disheveled red beard walking around with a replica title over his shoulder. Yeah i agree local indy shows seem to attract the worse. On a side note , is that you in the signature picture posing like HBK?

I also think it is funny to see a grown man walking around with the replica belts at events. About 92% of them are very fat and look like they have not showered in a week. Some of the nastiest people I have ever seen are at wrestling events and it is sort of embarrassing.
The other type of fan is the ones that are negative about everything WWE does yet they are sitting at the show. They try to start a TNA chant and they get about 10 people to join in with them and it makes them look like fools.

If your going to a local indy show, you shouldn't boo anyone, because there hardly making any money and you should appreciate what they are doing for you.No offense, but that's one of the dumbest things I've read. I mean, first of all they're not doing anything for me, they're only wrestling for free because A. they're either trying to get their foot in the door and they have to start off at the bottom or B. they love to wrestle so much that they don't care that they're doing it for free. They're doing it for themselves not for me, you make it seem like their getting sent off to some war to defend our freedom or something. Also, it's wrestling and the heels are meant to be booed whether they're doing it for free or not, most people like getting booed so they play the heel. That's another type of wrestling fan that annoys the sh*t out of me, the ones that just take it so damn seriously. man when you want to find the weirdest of all fans, you go to indy shows. I go to them, but when im there, there are just the oddest of people. Couldn't agree more

Could someone please explain to me what constitutes the title of "smark"? Because I thought that it was any wrestling fan who knew wrestling is fake, but still watches.

Smarks = Smart Marks = Fans who think they know everything there is about wrestling, and feels the need to school you in a wrestling history lesson if given the chance. Their opinion is fact to them and if you argue, theyll start to whine. They believe every word of dirt sheets and let them decide their opinion of Wrestling. As said, most fans who carry replica belts to indy shows and WWE shows "just because", are smarks. They think they are the champ. (Not to be mistaken with fans who bring belts to autograph sessions)
