One week after UFC 105, which is in Manchester. I was gonna go but tickets are £165.75 so I decided against it.
And what happened to the Carwin/Velasquez fight at UFC 104?

This should be an interesting brawl. Both guys like to stand and bang if they can and they both pack serious KO power, especially Carwin. We saw that in his fight with Gonzaga. This could be a "pick-em" as the late Gorilla Monsoon would say.
If it stays standing, I think I'll lean towards Carwin. However, if Brock does what he did to Mir, and take him to the ground and pound away, I'll take Brock. It's a tough choice for sure. Can't wait for that one.

Both guys like to stand and bang? Seriously? Lesnar has used his size and weight to lay on guys and pound them out. That is NOT standing.

How did he take him out?? By standing and trading blows. Granted, he finished Couture with ground and pound hammer-fists, but he caught him with a grazing shot to the head which dropped him first. Brock can take out guys either way. Standing or on the ground. One thing is for sure. If it stays standing, we are in for a war. It'll be brutal.

He got ONE blow to Couture's temple THEN pounded him out. For the majority of the fight, he was trying to take Couture down. Couture was actually getting the better of the striking and even cut Lesnar.

I like Brock as much as the next person, but I'm confused by the whole KO power thing. How can you say someone has the power and ability to knock someone out....when they haven't actually knocked anyone out?
Does Brock punch hard? Obviously. Does he have the power in his arms to physically knock someone out? Sure. But the fact remains that out of his 4 fights he has one, only one didn't end via TKO. Brock can knock them down and take them out, but he's yet to actually knock someone out.
Perhaps thats just me...

I think it would be silly to argue that Brock DOESN'T have KO power..
He is just more at home when taking someone to the ground and pounding them out...
But anyways I know everyone thinks this is going to be a great PPV but does anyone else this has potential to be rather boring? Both the main-event and the co-main event are full of fighters who have extended backgrounds in wrestling..I think we might see two main-events full of lay-n-pray..
I hope not though. I would love to see Carwin vs. Lesnar be a standup battle. We have yet to see Brock take a flush shot on the face. Herring was starting to throw big punches in the third round and it didn't look like Brock liked it and he immediately took Herring down.
I'm glad the UFC decided to do this though..why would they put Cain vs. Carwin..that just makes the loser go down a couple of notches and have to wait even longer to get close to a title shot..

I'm really looking forward to this now. I call Carwin over Lesnar in Round 1... just to keep up Carwin's tradition of his fights lasting only half a round.

I fully expect Carwin to be the first person to hit Lesnar hard. Maybe rock him, maybe not.

I suppose it was a poor choice of words or the wrong way to say it on my part. How about this? They both hit hard. ;D Extremely hard. Just like the Gina Carano/Cyborg fight that just happened recently, I don't believe this fight will last long. Right before the start of the Gina/Cyborg fight, they said the majority of the poll would go 3 rounds, but I said to myself "it'll be lucky to make it to the 2nd round" and I was completely right. I think this fight will be lucky to make it to the 2nd round as well. Both guys are going to come out swinging, especially Carwin. He'll want to make it a quick night and make an example of Lesnar I feel. He would want nothing more than to knock Lesnar out and take home the belt. And I feel there's a VERY good chance of him doing that. If anyone in the UFC can drop Lesnar, I'll put my money on Carwin. No question about it.

Looking forward to it. Hopefully Carwin gets a KO win, but if I was a betting man, I'd go with Lesnar.

The thing is that we have never really seen Brock get hit to hard. Now if Carwin clips him good, that is where we can determine the true fighter in Lesnar. So I say Carwin wins on the feet. But we all know even if we hate him Brock has VERY good ground and pound and we never saw Carwin on the ground yet so this fight will be a heck of an answer to both of these fighters questions in the octagon
