Reggie is one of the most overrated players ever... I'd boo him too. He's atrocious on color commentary too.

Jesus, what a terrible way to lose, on lack of defense? Just a disgraceful loss tonight, Celtics had this game won. Losing to Magic isnt a bad thing, but leading by 16 and choking....getting out rebounded is just sad. Magic have DOUBLE the amount of free throws too, what the

Yeah, the Vince risk definitely isn't paying off. The Magic keep needing to find a way to win despite his er, "best efforts."

Reggie is one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
Straight up, revolutionized parts of the game.
Without him guys like Dirk don't come off screens or have space created like they do.
Ironically enough isn't the Mavs coach a former student of the Indiana offense?

I love how Denver is the hottest team in the NBA right now but gets ZERO coverage.

I love how Denver is the hottest team in the NBA right now but gets ZERO coverage. At one point the Hornets won like 7 or 8 in a row and noone said a word about them. We've lost like 3 games all year so far, and have a playoff spot if the playoffs started today.

Melo is missing time again but this just looks to be keeping him 100% the best they can for the playoffs. Sucks for my fantasy team though.

Ironically enough isn't the Mavs coach a former student of the Indiana offense? Reggie has career averages of 18/3/3, with 3 third team All NBA appearances, no championships, and was never at any point a top 10 player in the league. He is the greatest volume 3-point shooter of all time (currently, though his record is definitely breakable) and has certainly had a handful of very memorable performances, but he's not a sure-fire Hall of Famer to me.

Loved Reggie Miller the player, hate the commentator.
He was always at the top of the tier 2 players during his era to me. Never quite a tier 1.

Reggie Miller is one of my favorite players of all time. I do agree with TRW however about him being at the top of 'Tier 2'.

Reggie Miller was the biggest flaming flopper in the entire history of the NBA, what a douche bag.
He revolutionized being a giant puss bag. He did have balls and stepped in when it mattered or when he could, but he was a giant bitch.
Ray Allen is going to break his record too, thats all Reggie talks about when he does Celtics games.
He's tier vagina to me because he had the biggest bleeding one when he played

To the guy who quoted Reggie's career averages... you do realize the last two years of his career he was coming off the bench and not in his prime right? Accepting less?
Anybody who saw Reggie in his prime knows he was a first ballot HOF. In 1998 when the Bulls won the Finals, their last year together... Reggie and the Pacers pushed them to 7 games and almost eliminated them. I remember sitting down and saying "I better watch this 4th quarter, this could be the last I ever see Michael Jordan." While Jordan has reached his prime, no other player pushed the Bulls deeper than Reggie Miller. Not since the days of Detroit when Jordan was younger. Reggie gave Michael Jordan fits, more so than any player I've seen.
The fact is, like Stockton and Malone, Barkley, Ewing and others... Reggie may have been a Champion more than one time without Michael Jordan's dominance.
I swear how people pick and choose what players mean in this thread is based off of personal feelings towards a person they've never met and how they look. Is Reggie just not hot/sexy enough for you guys? We'll praise Ray Allen but he's one of the softest star players in the league at times? But we'll bash Reggie and make fun of him in sexual manners?
Christ, I'm a Knicks fan... I know better. Reggie will come drop 9 three pointers on your ass (nearly every time it matters) and hit you with a flurry that will have your franchise center on the ropes.
I'd take Reggie in his prime over Ray Allen in his prime any day of the week. Reggie didn't disappear for back to back games. Reggie didn't lose games as the number 1 option to the baby Bulls team we have today. Reggie almost ruined Michael Jordan's send off.
Quote numbers all you want (they don't seem to matter when you defy LeBron's best player status).... go watch the tapes of him raping dynasties and then tell me he's not one of the best ever.

I just read that last night Dirk took 1 shot in the 4th quarter in that close loss... he and Dwight Howard are so easily pushed around it's not even funny (in relation to their size and who deny's them the position they want). TNT was talking about this last night.

Reggie Miller will make the Hall of Fame, I dunno about first ballot, but depending on who else is up then, he might.
He's still a cock, and comparing him to others will never make me change my mind. JohnnyB is right, his numbers arent fantastic, he never won awards, he never made NBA teams, etc so that will hurt.
Staying with 1 team, being a deadly shooter etc will help though.
But hes a giant puss bag, and the Hall of Fame is filled with people who dont deserve to be there or shouldnt have been in when they were, so why not add the biggest bitch in NBA history?

lol Yeah, KG. That reminds of a poll that came out a few weeks back that asked NBA players and staff members who's the biggest trash talker in the league and the margin wasn't even close. KG won with like 60% of the vote. He's one of the dirtiest players too but we've already touched on that topic before.
I think Miller gets in for sure and deservedly so. The basketball HOF isn't like baseball's where they only look at what's on the paper to decide who gets in. Success matters, moments matter, influence matters and while Miller never won an NBA championship, he did get to the Finals and the conference finals a few times. He's got highlights a plenty and a lot of players have tried to pattern elements of his game. He's a lock.
An example of this is to look at Mitch Richmond. He had great numbers, better than Miller but the guy did absoutely nothing in the NBA. As a result he has been sitting on the ballot for a few years now and might not get in.
