Ice Skating is still a legit judged competition. The Winners aren't Pre Determined, thus its a legit Sport. how hard is that to understand? Real - Sport Fake - Entertainment The only wrestling that's a sport is College/Olympic/H.S. Wrestling. I'll say it again, why do people watch sports if not to be entertained? Sports ARE entertainment.

Apparently you haven't seen BJ Penn? or Big Nog? or any other of a number of guys who will take you to the ground and break your arm as quickly as they would stand and fight? UFC is very much MMA says a wrestling fan....two big sweaty muscular guys in thier undies groping each other I' not against WWE, i watch it, it is entertaining, and really, shouldn't be compared to UFC...but Dana is right, UFC is a sport, wwe is entertainment and to the guy who said who is Dana White...seriously? LOL dude.. two big sweaty muscular guys in their undies groping each other is what UFC is. I have tried to watch it, my brother likes it, and most matches is just a 4 minute sequence of 2 men rolling on top of each other. And the crowd that UFC pulls is just trash, there's always fights outside the arenas and little competition things.. its just so laim, that's just my opinion though You're saying the exact same thing people say about pro wrestling. That "it's gay". You'd think after years of pro wrestling fans taking abuse they would be the last to really mock anything. But then again this still proves that a lot of wrestling fans are still that ing stupid.

and not every form of Entertainment is a Sport And yet movies and TV shows, along with the actors involved, get awards every year, so it is competition.

As I was saying before most TV programming grids on various sites and places color coat sports a set color, and color coat WWE or TNA in that sports color.

both are performances and if you suck at performing in WWE you won't do well, sounds like a sport to me. your cut and dry definitions are pretty stupid by the way, all sports are entertainment assuming it's on tv. wrestling is pre determined but that doesn't mean it's fake, these guys take huge tolls on their body, and there is nothing fake about that. It's called common sense, just because they take bumps doesn't mean its a sport, you act like every single move is real. However WWE and boxing make a lot more money. How many of their top stars make as much as WWE's and boxing's top stars? WWE makes more Money? Vince doesn't have enough money to buy UFC, think about that. What does that have to do with anything? Some boxers can make up to $30 million for a fight. A PPV pay day for a top wrestler no doubt makes more than a PPV pay day for a most UFC fighters.

I again ask, if they have to go through athletic commissions. Which I know they do, because Vince sometimes blatantly breaks their rules just because he can.
How could a non-sport be regulated by an athletic commission?

How could a non-sport be regulated by an athletic commission? my thought on this is because its "sports like", they follow their rules. It could also be because within the context of WWE, we are supposed to believe that it is a sport, so being ran like one helps that. I don't think anyone here is saying it doesn't take athletes to be wrestlers (although i use that term loosely on some wrestlers) but to say that just because and athelete does it, doesn't make it a sport. I'd say that most stuntmen for movies are athletes, but I doubt anyone would say that being one is a sport. In some senses, thats what wwe wrestlers are, stuntmen who get to act as well...

Sure, wrestling is much much much more closer to a sport, but it isn't "real". The matches are pre-determined, and to me, what makes a sport is three things. 1) Athletics 2) Skills 3) Competition WWE only has 2 out of those 3.

MMA fans shouldnt be calling pro wrestling "gay" considering that fighters are more scantily clad than pro wrestlers and what non-fans thinks MMA grappling looks like. It's the pot calling the kettle black.

I'm loling looking through this thread.
"ZOMGZ UFC SUX"
"NO OMFG WWE IS GAY AND TEH FAKEZ!!!"
Dana is right, WWE isn't a sport. And UFC showcases talent, skills and competition; the last one is one the WWE does not. These arguements about both being sports or not is ridiculous, so quit all the bitching over it.

WWE Wrestlers "COMPETE" in a different sense.
Seems the word "Sport" is a lose term, the dictionary is pretty loose with it anyway.
