The problem you fail to mention is when Jakks first started doing RAs, real scan was still a fairly new concept. As the time went on they obviously got better. Mattel had the "science" already in front of them but have yet to capitalize on it

I remember, because I got a Tazz figure the day before I started 9th grade and it was real scan. They had =/= 3 years of Real Scale before RA started. |

The point is, 3 years and 10 years is a really big difference.
actually I think it was '01 when Real Scan started.
I believe they just "tested" the RS tech during the TTL days. Not all of the final ones were RS. R3 was the first line that was Real Scan ('01) and then RAs started around 02-03

some scans are great (Orton, Henry, etc) some are bad (Miz, Morrison,etc)

The fact that you're still stuck in 2003 worshiping a poor toy company that made mediocre figures tells us all we need to know about you. Scratch that. Quite possibly, but the fact of the matter is the first sets of figures scans are not that impressive. A few are good, but not everyone of them are the greatest things ever made. Clearly though, someone like you takes their toys too seriously. Hope you have fun sitting in the floor playing with your little men. |

I like them all except Morrison & Swagger. But they seems to be getting better so hopefully these two get fixed real soon.

They had RAs as something to follow up on with a similar product. The wrestlers' scans had never been taken before when jakks started, that's why they had an excuse to suck. It's 2010, and the headscans will not get better.

A lot of Mattel's sculpts and hair colour/ hair application are rubbish like Triple H, Batista, Edge, Kofi, Taker, Stone Cold, Morrison, Swagger, Carlito, especially Finlay who looks like 35 in his figure but is 53. Mattel's divas are fantastic, much better than Jakks. Cena's, HBK's and Jericho's mattel sculpts are passable, Orton is nice, so is Hornswoggle while Mark Henry, Santino and Beth are great. In a perverse way, i'm glad too cos it allows me to save money! Anyone who says Taker's mattel scan is better than Jakks' one is just crazy. The best scans in the world don't make up for the lack of details, paint apps, and consistent reuse of the same damn bodies OVER AND OVER for years to me. Jakks figures look  ing stupid as **** to me, and no argument is going to change that. |

I must admit that I don't understand the intensity behind the Jakks-vs-Mattel debate. It's cool if you have your side, but it seems like some people want to draw blood over which company produces/produced the better figures.
I must be among the minority that doesn't purchase because of brand, but by the star, and by how the figure looks. Some are knocked out of the park, some are out instantly. It happens. But if someone else thinks an ugly figure looks great, that's cool too.

That's the horrible ass tongue out scan!!! How can you sit there and honestly believe that scan is better than the Mattel scan? That is about as ugly as the Jack Swagger scan we got. Which is downright f***ing pathetic. |
