I was extremely surprised when I hit walmart this morning and found 2 cases of Elite 2 on the shelves.
I picked up set and took em home.
Low and behold , I have the same issue as some others , the Ankle gap on Randy Orton. Its not as bad like the other post but you can plainly see the gap.
I might swap his boots with the Heritage one.
The entire set looks great.

Yeah I have the issue with Batista and HHH. The gap is not bad but you can still see it. I don't know if I should return them and get others with the same issue

You guys do realize the "gap" on the Elite figures is because of the extra articulation right? On the Elites the ankle not only goes up and down but it also rolls/pivots. This is so the foot can still be flush against the ground when widening out the hips. The problem with the figure posted yesterday was his foot was warped/melted so it made the gap look larger. Here's what the Elite foot is supposed to looks like compared to a Basic

Yeah my gap is a little larger. It's not too much of a big deal. One thing the joints on HHH are insanely tight, have to be careful

The Elite ankles are a real problem. Very loose. I've been switching the boots out and putting Basic boots on Elite figures to correct this problem.
Mattel Elite's have some pretty serious flaws in my opinion. The angles and the butt of the figure which restricts the leg from moving in a backward direction are flaws which NEED to be fixed.
I just don't feel comfortable continuing to pay $14.99 for figures which I am not 100% happy with.

I mentioned on Mattel's forums that I find the Elite Collection as Mattel's "collectors" line for WWE, like their DC Classics and their Masters of the Universe Classics all ranging $15-20. I see them meant for posing or display and not play, which is why they are more detailed. This is just my opinion but figured it was worth mentioning to those with complaints about some hindrance during play.

I really hope that when I find my Mattel Series 2 figures (Elite, Basic) that none of their foots are screwed up..it seems as if it's starting to become a common thing.

Now, other then the foot the figures look amazing. The shirts really do wonders and it sure is nice to have a real ref shirt that doesnt leave black ink stairs on John Studd lol. That Jakks 3 pack Studd had the hardest shirt to remove ever.

That Jakks 3 pack Studd had the hardest shirt to remove ever. Any Jakks figure shirt was hard to remove. To this day I still can't remove the WrestleMania 25 Exclusive John Cena's HLR shirt. Heck, for the Jakks Tribute to Stone Cold Exclusive I can't get the damn Austin 3:16 shirt on lol. But yeah...Mattel's shirts rule. I have an Elite CM Punk figure and the shirt is easy as heck to get on and off. Too bad Jakks never thought of just making a Velcro shirt.

Someone else agrees with me that the Elite line is NOT made for slamming around in a plastic ring. They are meant for collectors. The same way that Mattel makes Batman: The Brave and the Bold figures for kids (less articulation) and DC Universe Classics for collectors. The WWE line is very similiar. Basics are made for people that want to have a Royal Rumble with their toys. Elite is a collector driven line.

The funny thing is if they don't seem to realize the gap is there so the foot can pivot/rotate under the ankle to get the foot flat on the surface on wide stance poses. Now everyone is calling it a flaw/defect on the figure.

Yes I mean Thecolt's Orton figure was a defect, because the one foot was warped/melted, but now everyone seems to think their figure is flawed. lol Personally I love the feature, because I love putting figures in the wider heroic looking stance.

Well if Mattel could make that Elite ankle joint without it being so loose that the figure falls forward or backward then it would be fine.....but since they can't, then yes, it IS a flaw. I don't think the loose ankles are intended, however the looseness of the ankles is a result of the design. I understand what the purpose of the joint is and I would love it if Mattel could produce it correctly.

With the exception of Rey, MVP & Hardy which I have one each of I have 2 of every other Elite 1 and Series 2 HHH & Orton figures and only one Taker has loose ankles and he stands fine.

Except for Rey Mysterio, all of my Elites have loose ankles. My Edge can barely stand up. My CM Punk not only has loose ankles but also a loose left knee. My MVP is the same as my Edge. My Undertaker is very wobbly as well.
All 20 of my Basic figures have no joint issues.

Sorry to hear that you are having such poor luck, but like I said mine are all fine with the exception of Taker. Here's a quick pic I just took (MVP & the extra HHH & Orton are in my Basics setup. But they can all stand on one leg

i've only had a few issues so far with loose joints. elite taker and elite randy orton. i have fixed those issues and they are now perfect figures with no problem standing in any position. i'll be doing a post on how to fix loose ankles on mattel figures soon. that way it's a new thread and for anyone who wants to read it can check it and make comments on how it worked or didn't work for them.
