I know a lot of the kiddies are into the workrate, but more into the storytelling and realism. I subscribe to the school of thought that preaches it's not what you do, but how you do it.
To me a match can be made with a simple punch. When I say simple I guess it's an understatement, given the tiny amount of great punchers that have graced the squared circle.
Please list and discuss the guys that you consider to be the greatest punchers in the history of the sport.
Mine would be:
Michael "PS" Hayes Jerry "The King" Lawler "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton Arn Anderson "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin

Hayes and Eaton have to go 1-2 on the list for me. Their punches were just wow

That's nice and all but it's not a worked punch. Making a fake punch look real is true art and the whole point of pro wrestling. It's creating an illusion, not putting on a worked shoot in Puro or UFC fashion.

The Funker FTW. nice ha! recently i watched Verne Gagne wrestle and he threw a mean one for an old man. also Piper made punching a big part of his matches.

Roddy Piper. Love when he would give a fury of punches and then end it with an eye poke.

I love Piper as much as the next guy, but his punching was terrible in my opinion. I also have a hard time considering anyone that used the stomp punch, to be a great puncher, so that would DQ Bret from consideration, at least in my book. lol
The whole Undertaker is "the best pure striker" stuff is not valid in my book. I'll take Vader over Taker easy.
