Nah admittedly that bit was aimed at the s***** backyard promotions. But, personally, a bunch of bland, uninteresting and near identical wrestlers with no personality, performing moves that come across as totally unbelievable and over-the-top spots isn't what I call entertaining. And if you knew a bit about what you're attempting to talk about, you'd know that guys like Austin Aries, Kevin Steen, Kenny Omega, and Chris Hero all look different and eat charisma for breakfast (with skim milk). Yeah, like them. But I don't get a boner over bland and uninteresting developmental guys who were set-up to fail in WWE (see Scotty Goldman). No offense to either of you if you enjoy independent wrestling promotions, but I'm just saying, none of that is entertaining to me. And the only reason I've generalized is because nothing stands out to me in the independent circuit. I know there aren't light tubes in Japanese promotions as a rule, but I was talking generally about wrestling outside WWE/ TNA etc. I'm referring to CZW when I mention light tubes... |
