What 5 former talents, that had strong fan support for their work in WCW, ECW, TNA or ROH, were used most poorly by the WWE?
I'm sure I could have worded the above better, but what I'm asking is, who could have been a star in the WWE due to their work elsewhere but handled poorly in the WWE? (top 5)
Just off the top of my head, these five come to mind:
Yoshihiro Tajiri
Great example:
Scott Steiner
I think Steiner's WWE run can be compared to Jeff Hardy in TNA/Independent. Steiner is awesome on the mic and be good in the ring but WWE performances in the 21st century don't showcase that. Hardy on the other-hand is best in a WWE ring.. so Steiner definitely never found his niche.
Dean Malenko
Maybe he counts for a current as he's an agent with the WWE, but I Dean could have been used similarly to Guerrero not for comedy but in the mid-ranks and elevated slowly through audience recognition. He had the physical tools, but just didn't arrive in an era where small guys can live out big dreams.
Vader
I have no boyhood memories of Vader but I do know what he's done in WCW, Japan and around the world before he came to the then-WWF and portrayed an unmotivated fat bastard. Big Van Vader would have been a fine WWF or Intercontinental Champion.
Mike Awesome / Johnny Stamboli
Two different guys but both fit the WWE image perfectly as far as being chiseled from stone. They look like wrestlers, and have the intimidating presence. Sure they may not be hall of famers in any one's lifetime but they each could have been pushed in ways similar to Cena, Batista, Swagger or Sheamus.

I'm not one to bitch about WWE mishandling Indy talent but Colt Cabana comes to mind.

Vader It actually sickens me what they did to Vader. He looked good coming into the WWF, albeit it to a fairly slow start. After all, he main evented SummerSlam against Shawn Michaels. Then came the Kuwait incident and it all went downhill. I don't call former World champions jobbers often, but Vader was the definition of jobber in 1998. He lost to Edge, he lost to Bradshaw, he lost to Val Venis. He lost to EVERYBODY. By the end of his career, he was just as bad as Funaki is now, in the sense every appearance he made was a quick loss. By far, this is the biggest travesty in WWF history as far as pushes go.
Diamond Dallas Page DDP was even given a chance. His feud with Undertaker got off to a good start but ended in him being made to look like a nobody and then being beaten by Taker's wife just put the icing on the cake. After that he became the smiley guy, which was most definitely a bad thing.
Elijah Burke Burke came into WWE in a dead end tag team with Sylvester Terkay. After ditching Terkay, I thought Burke was going to get a huge push. He was called the future of ECW for god's sake, but unfortunately his push went the way of both ECW and the dodo, it died. He vanished in late 2007, and appeared very sproadically through 2008 before being released. Luckily, he's now getting the push he deserves in TNA, where hopefully WWE should be thinking about what an opportunity they missed.
Raven He wasn't used badly per say, but he could have been SO much more. A feud with Undertaker could have done wonders, he had undeniable charisma and a great gimmick. Never got the push he truely deserved.

Colt Cabana (Didn't look like a movie star, so he got fired. Bullshit) Mike Awesome (Got ed over by politics) Claudio Castagnoli (Don't understand why he hasn't gotten a second shot in the last 3 years) Paul London (The Intrepid Traveler / Dolphin Master would've been amazing on WWE tv) Rob Van Dam (They never truly capitalized on how insanely over he was in 2001 & 2002)

Rhino- He came in, Gored everyone and was built as a powerhouse..... then nothing.
Raven-He just started to be noticed again in his final days.
Sean O Haire-Big Waste here, I believe he could of taken Batista's spot at this point in time.
Ultimo Dragon-Dear god, this guy was phenomenal. And aside from a few action figures and him being in a Smackdown game, it was almost pointless to have him in the WWE.
Christian in 2006-2007 was highly wasted as a talent. He should of been a main eventer but they never gave him the shot, and we went to TNA and later to the WWE Version of ECW to damn well prove he could lead TNA as a Champion and lead ECW as a Champion. I just hope he doesnt get wasted again.
I would say Mr. Kennedy but the only time I can account for him not being injured or suspended would be Regal getting suspended and ruining his awesome push. Also the time he had his Money in the Bank taken away just for a minor injury.

^ i'd agree with rhino. he was built as a in' monster and then turned out not to be able to do much more than his finisher and piledrivers.

Tazz: The man was amazing. If only he had been used the same as he was used on ECW, he could have been big.
Raven: The same as Tazz. The man had charisma, and had a great gimmick. He knew how to talk, and if you look back at his first WCW run, not as Raven, but as Scott Flamingo or something like that, you can notice he was great also in the ring.
Elijah Burke: He has been mentioned already, and I have always said that I thought he should have been pushed. He is showing on TNA the he has what it takes, and well, I think he had a great gimmick in the WWE. I loved it, and IMO, he should of been pushed.
Shelton Benjamin: They still have time, dammit. Shelton is a great in the ring. He can get over as he showed back in 2004 and 2005. Not the best on the mic, but his in ring work can make up for it.
AJ Styles: He had tryout matches on the WWE, right? I still can't believe they didn't signed the guy. He is amazing in the ring. He is probably one of the best in the world, not the best, but one of them currently.
