My a** you wouldn't. I live in what many consider the boonies of America, and one of the biggest things I see around here is the flying/displaying in some manner of the Dominican flag. 365 days a year. They don't take it down on the 4th. Do they celebrate American Independence in Mexico? Didn't think so.This x1,000,000

I know there's right to free speech and expression and everything but as Donthasslethehoff said, in the video, it looked like the kids wanted to start trouble by dressing like that. Exactly. Of all days to wear the shirts, they just happened to pick that day.

Them probably not, but it's possible for someone who owns an article of clothing with the US Flag on it to wear it on Cinco de Mayo.

Who cares. The kids could have shot up the school. If they want to wear a shirt with an American flag on it, and it just so happens to be some Mexico day, BIG DEAL.

I guess they should've worn Mexican flag shirts instead.

Do any of the Mexican kids that were offended even know what Cinco De Mayo is celebrated for?
Do they realize that it's more widely celebrated in America than anywhere else?
Can the Mexican kids commit to bury their ethnic pride on July 4th?

Totally stupid. Those kids were little s***sThey were trying to be cool and start crap and be little immature s***S. So dont buy into the whole"WE LOVE AND RESPECT AMERICA" bull crap.
Im not saying they shouldnt of done it, i think they have the absolute right to wear the shirts, they shouldnt have been punished in any way, buts its obvious their intentions. Its like you KNOW why they did it, but there's no way to prove thats why and its not breaking any rules. So they shoulda let it fly. 100 bux says hispanic kids at the same school will be wearing shirts with Mexican flags on them every day and it will make the news again next week.

I'm probably gonna get reamed for this one, but I believe the right the fly the American flag outweighs the need to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

Can the Mexican kids commit to bury their ethnic pride on July 4th? This. A Mexican friend of mine was like "We don't really celebrate Cinco De Mayo, it's not even about the independence of Mexico, just a small town."

It's pretty obvious the group of friends planned to do it in order to get a rise out of people but it's not like they were running the halls yelling "USA!" I immediatley picture this after reading your post On a serious note they did it to be controversial. But what the school did was wrong by sending them home and there is no rule that states that they cant wear the usa shirts in cinco de mayo. For example say your school has a yankee themed day and you wear a Red Sox jersey. Its not illegal its just for attention and to be controversial. But they did nothing wrong it was frowned upon like masterbating in an airplane...but its not illegal.

They can wear whatever they want. The shirts didn't say " MEXICO" on them, so I really don't see why they would send them home.
