;D It's certainly going to be an...interesting World Cup to say the least. There are quite a few contenders that I see, anyways. There sure are,the funny thing is,as good as spain are at the moment, there is not one earth shattering unbeatable team ala France 98-00,there are so many potential winners. the biggest factor will be the climate imo.... Very true. I mean; I know a couple of people that I have talked to have Spain as a shoe-in to win it all, but I'm not sold quite yet on that. They are easily one of the, if not the best team in the World Cup, but just having the best talent doesn't guarantee you a win.

Exactly, the best team doesn't always win, that has been proven time and time again, but hey, that's football!

Am I the only one who can't believe Ronadinho didn't make Brazil's team? Makes me sad, I love how he loves to play.
also, I am a little gleeful that Rossi didn't make Italy

ugh. Why do they have so many friendly exhibitions right before the World cup? The Ivory Coast pretty much lost all hope of doing well given the group they are in when they lost Drogba just a week before the Cup. Tragic.

Well , I watched France´s game earlier today and I was surprised how they didn´t play according with their players,México could get onto the 16, depends if they beat South Africa , tbh , I think it´s gonna be a tie, hope i´m wrong. Uruguay it´s hard too.

Has there been much hype over the pond yet? or is it still an after thought? ESPN and ABC have been pushing it, and there is a good article on Yahoo about how USA is starting to get a following like other countries To say that this is the most important World Cup in US history is in no way an understatement. If the US has a good showing, they can really go over with the mainstream america. I mean, ESPN did 2 SC commercials about it, they have talked about it extensivly, and during qualifying, they were the lead story...they even covered the draw, so the momentum behind this push is HUGE...now its up to the team to capitalize

Soccer is so dead in the U.S, some players in the MLS have to work second jobs and sometimes have to carpool with each other to games.

Has there been much hype over the pond yet? or is it still an after thought? The 2010 team is getting most hype I can remember, but it's kinda a bad time. We have NBA and NHL finals going on right now. ESPN is playing these awesome commercials hyping up the England/USA match though. I think that game is more important than how our team does overall.

Must be a great time if you are a soccer fan in America, glad from what you said and the champ is here that its getting better press. I really want you guys to do well,as i said earlier everyone in scotland including myself will be supporting you on saturday. You know soccer is there for the taking,if America wanted too, they could rule the sport.

I want USA to go as far as they can. A lot of Americans are missing out on a great sport and I'd hope this can go towards amending that. Of course it's never going to be the most popular sport there but there's no reason to compare that with the likes of NFL. It's just another sport to follow and get into. Being from the UK I don't just like soccer, but also NHL and a growing interest in NFL.
