Man, this whole event was fantastic. The undercard had some really nice matches, and Leben/Akiyama was just a flat out awesome fight. And of course, I was on the edge of my seat for the entire main event. I was so glad to see Lesnar win.

i personally feel that carwin won that fight, but whatever. I can somewhat see what your saying. If it was any other ref, I could have easily seen the fight stopped. HOWEVER, that is why Josh Rosenthal is one of the best officials in MMA, because he was able to realize Lesnar was not out and still had fight in him.

That and refs tend to give more leeway in title fights.

i personally feel that carwin won that fight, but whatever. You got the wrong feeling... I personally feel Brock Lesnar won that fight because he made Shane Carwin tap out, but whatever. ;D

best PPV in a long time..
top to bottom it was a night full of exciting fights.
Leben is a beast. I hope Leben/Wandy happens.
Lesnar looked great. I can't wait to see Velasquez/Lesnar.

i personally feel that carwin won that fight, but whatever. You may want to watch that fight again. Even though SOME of Carwin's shots landed, they were getting gradually weaker and Lesnar was covering up pretty well towards the end.

I'm glad Shane Carwin Whooped Lesnars ass in the first round. Lesnar looked like a bitch running away from Carwin. I have no idea how The fight didn't stop when Lesnar Formed ino a "BITCH" ball.

I have no idea how The fight didn't stop when Lesnar Formed ino a "BITCH" ball. It wasn't stopped, like has already been said a few times in this thread, because Carwin's punches were losing steam, Brock was actively and intelligently defending himself, and the ref realized it and did the right thing by not stopping the fight. How hard is that to understand?

You can't stop a fight because someone's getting hit. If he's intelligently defending himself, he's conscious, etc.; then he's in okay shape to continue. As we saw in the second round, while he was obviously hurt from the strikes, it wasn't enough to make him unable to continue.

I think the whole "should've been stopped" argument comes from the brief period where Lesnar was down and basically just turtled up. Don't know the specific term for it, but that's basically what it was. There've been a lot of fight stoppages (some of them arguably premature) that have happened due to a fighter turtling. I think that while it's considered defending, it's not "intelligently" defending, meaning you're just crawling into a ball because you have no idea what else to do.
IMO, the ref made the right call. Lesnar looked really iffy at one point, but when the ref starting telling him to fight back, protect himself, etc. etc., Lesnar began moving, trying to get Carwin off him, etc.
For all the people that love the fact that Lesnar got his ass handed to him in Round 1, you can't deny that almost no one else on this planet would've been able to survive that first round onslaught the way Lesnar did.

Even though SOME of Carwin's shots landed, they were getting gradually weaker and Lesnar was covering up pretty well towards the end. i disagree. there were a few moments where i swear carwin backed off brock on the ground, after hitting him with consecutive punches to the face, as if saying 'what more do i have to do? c'mon ref...' the bombs carwin landed, imo, would've stopped any fight that had happened earlier in the night. heyman explains how the ref arranged with brock how he'd know if he was knocked out or not, and while i'm not suggesting there was foulplay at all, i doubt the refs do that for everyone else. they protected brock in this one, i think carwin won.

Is it possible that I could get a gif of Bonnar's "American Psycho face" after his win. Dude looked like a total BMF after winning that fight.
