I understand the point of this thread, but it would probably be better titled, "Popular games you aren't interested in"
Mine are the COD games(Minus World at War), Borderlands, Gears of War, Fables, MAss Effect.

For me, it's got to be Fallout 3. I got the game because of all the praise it received despite not being such a fan of FPS (or even many RPG) games. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty good game, but I simply found it became very arduous what with being lost all the time and having so few weapons. I gave up on it pretty quickly. A friend once played my save and told me that I was completely lacking in the weapons department, so I may just give it another shot now my PS3 HD was wiped because it's something I'd really like to get into and enjoy.
Others that spring to mind are WOW and yes, GTAIV. The latter is a great game no doubt, but it simply receiving too much hype and too many outstanding reviews for what it was.
