I think the TNA DA Velvet looks amazing but that Mattel Melina looks horrible.

I'm not going to comment on the Velvet Sky fig until I see the final product and find out how the scale is with the rest of the figs (Jakks AND Mattel). If it is the same height as Samoa Joe I sure as hell wont get it. The Mattel Melina is horrible.

I'm dying for an Angelina Love but any knockouts are welcome.
WWE can get away with ignoring women in their figure lines, only a few of them actually sell anyway, but in TNA the woman are one of the biggest draws. I say pumping out all 7 of the active wrestlers in the knockouts division

As fast as they can will save this line from being clearance racked and cancelled.

Well the Velvet definitely wins however theres a few things to consider. Its a perfected proto whereas the Melina is the final figure. Plus the Melina isnt mattels best diva theyve made. The velvet proto is quite possibly going to lose detail too or the face might be ruined by crappy makeup. The melina would probably look better in person or if photographed better since mattels photography isnt too flattering. I do however prefer mattels bodys as they managed to hide the torso joint unlike jakks. Oh and its taken to like the 160th fig or something for jakks to finally beat mattel. 6 months in the biz compared to over 10 years.   |

Of course the Velvet figure looks better then the Mattel Melina. But let's be honest Melina isn't that great looking in person. Personally I think the Mattel Beth Phoenix is the best looking Diva figure either company has ever made in any style. But let's see what the final product looks like. I'm sure Jakks will mess up the eyes like they did with Sunny. Also what will her scale be? Will she be shorter than the male DA's?

The Velvet figure is very close to being perfect, the Melina headscan is not that good and other things on her are not in scale.

well, so far MATTEL has produced a nice Beth and a really nice Mickie. And both had really good height scale compared to each other. Not really fair to say that based on this one figure MATTEL fails at female figures. This Melina doesn't have a good scan, but body wise it's very comparible to JAKKS. So it really comes down to scans-which JAKKS has always had a one-up. It just really seems like much hasn't changed. In this battle JAKKS wins for likeness, but I think MATTEL is still winning the war.

The only Mattel Diva I like so far is Beth. The others all look a bit odd. Velvet looks great. That will be my third TNA figure (The first being Sting and the second being that amazing Hogan).
