Honestly, based on the way they are making Toney's training sound, I could see a similar ending to the Fedor/Werdum fight. Randy takes him down, thinks he is in control, and Toney slaps on something out of nowhere.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still going with Randy for the win. I just think that's what they are going for if it goes to the ground. Hell, even if that were to happen, I fully expect Randy to get out and continue to whoop ass.

Come on, Sean. Let's get serious here. If Jacare couldn't submit Couture, Toney for sure can't.

I don't care how good his boxing is, it won't mean a damn thing when Couture takes him down and gets control of his back and chokes his ass out. Couture WILL definitely take him down and eventually tap him out. Just watch. I think some of you guys are forgetting how good Randy Couture actually is and not even putting into consideration that this is Toney's first MMA fight. You put a friggin' first-timer in there with an experienced old-pro and it will be a disaster for the rookie. It will end early. That's pretty much a guarantee.

Jesus ing Christ. Where did I say Toney was going to win? Better yet, where did I says specifically that he was going to win by submission? All I said was it sounds like the TRAINING that they are having him do is to defend himself on the ground. You guys are making it sound like I'm predicting the upset of the ing year. I see Toney on his back, with Randy doing his thing, and Toney TRYING (keyword there) trying to slap something on. There's never a guarentee that once you get a submission slapped on, that you'll actually keep it there. All I meant was that it sounds like Toney is training with the idea that he's going to be taken down at some point, and instead of trying to get back to his feet, he's trying to finish it from the bottom position. Do I think it will work? No. As far as the Fedor/Werdum comparision, the only thing I was comparing is the way Werdum defended himself on the ground. Instead of scrambling to his feet, he let Fedor come into his guard. If Toney is taken down, instead of attemping to get back to his feet or work some kind of ground game, I could see him trying to find a submission way out isntead.

I think making your MMA debut against someone as experienced as Randy Couture is, is a HUGE mistake. I could see Randy doing exactly what he did to Tony Halme. Taking him down and choking his ass out. I think this one will be over very quickly in the very first round and in Randy's favor. I don't think HE has any idea what is in store for him. I sure hope he's ready because I know Randy will be. Yep. I called it WAY back on July 13th. And yet, people were STILL picking Toney to win...I just don't get it. You should've listened to me because I seriously could not have been more right. ;D

^ Yep and I'm damn proud of it. It's not that I just called Randy to win the fight, it's how I called it as well. I knew he would get him down early, lock on a choke and choke his ass out and the fight would be over in the 1st round. I consider that to be pretty much dead-on from what I saw last night.
Seriously though, I just LOVE rubbing it into the faces of the morons that actually picked James Toney to win that fight. I love it. It's awesome. LOL.

Haha, rub it in the 4 people that picked Toney to win the fight, myself included? You act like the board was split 50/50 on who was going to win. That scenario is nothing to brag about. I picked Toney to win that fight, yet, even I gave that LIKELY scenario in my predictions. Hell, Dana White has been telling everyone for months the likely scenario. Everyone who picked Couture was giving that scenario!

^ I don't care how many people picked Toney to win. Wether it's 4 or 4 hundred. If it's only 4, then it's still 4 too many. You guys are ing morons. Toney got spanked courtesy of Randy Couture. LOL.

Oh please, Old School. Even though it didn't pan out that way, it was still at the very least possible. Toney goes swinging for the fences and clips Couture and it would have been done. You could come that conclusion because Toney is a professional boxer with insane knockout power, Couture's chin is suspect these days, and obviously, every fight starts standing. So yeah, even though it clearly didn't pan out that way last night, at least there's some LOGICAL reasoning behind picking Toney to knock out Couture, unlike say... picking Forrest Griffin to KNOCK OUT Anderson Silva...

Wow, dude you're an idiot gloating like that.
Look at it this way from a gambling point of view.
Randy was 1/7 . Meaning if i put seven hundred euro on it i would only make 100.
Toney by KO ( his only way of winning ) was 7/1. Meaning if i put 100 euro on it i would win 700 Euro.
" Punchers chance " aside it was the only way he could win and in MMA blah blah you know what im saying.
So quit your prophet like BS saying BUT IT WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED. You replay that fight ten times, and once Toney would have connected with a shot.
There's being right, and there's being a douche and you're 100% in line with the latter.

^ Think what you want and say what you want, I don't give a . You can replay that fight ten times and it would've been the same each time, with Randy winning. Like I said all along, James Toney didn't have a prayer and would get his ass choked out. I think I was completely right. If gloating Randy's win makes me an idiot, then I'm all for it. At least I didn't pick James Toney to win. That's a hundred times ing worse.

Would you have called me an idiot for saying brock lesnar would beat shane carwin by submission ? Because i called that and had quite a bit of money for a 17 year old to have on a bet.

Would I have called you an idiot for saying that?? Absolutely not. I think that's a pretty safe bet to make. Certainly ALOT safer than saying Toney would beat Couture, that's for sure. If you seriously called Brock beating Carwin by submission, then that's awesome. All the power to you. Good call and good bet.

Really ? Because brock by submission was 14/1.... Hardly a safe bet at all It's still more realistic than Toney beating Couture in his first-ever MMA fight. You will NEVER convince me that James Toney stood ANY sort of chance against Randy Couture in his first time out in MMA. I knew he didn't and I was right. The guy got dusted in a little over 3 minutes. Hardly enough time for Randy to even break a sweat.
