"Target gave $150,000 to MN Forward, a group staffed by former insiders from outgoing Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty's administration. MN Forward is running TV ads supporting Emmer.Following the money trail, the Minnesota Independent has also linked Emmer to a Minnesota Christian "punk-rock ministry" that supports the killing of gays and lesbians." www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/27/target-homophobia-ceo-gre_n_660990.htmlSo Target can go themselves.

That's not cool and shouldn't be allowed. Hell I think all Targets should be boycotted now. Tear down the Targets and build new stores. That would provide more jobs adn get rid of a really shitty place to shop.

But supporting the killing of gays and lesbians out ranks that, so I'll just have to live with shopping elsewhere.

That is crazy.
I though Target was better too..
They are still better than Wal-Mart but now they are not as good as I thought..

I am not going to let a corporate decision alter my opinion on every store. It is not like every manager at every Target across the nation decided to donate to the cause. Is supporting that group wrong? Yes. Is it going to make me stop shopping at Target? No.

Lets just say that XXX Politician has 100 subjects. You believe in 99 of them but he has 1 that is crazy and outlandish. Does that mean you shouldnt be able to donate to his campaign? Im not saying I agree with his stance on the situation but so many people want to make a big deal out of nothing. They're probably supporting this guys cause he wants to lower taxes in Minnesota which in turn will help out the Target corp save money. He'll never get to a high enough power where he could execute homosexuals so I dont see whats the point of worrying about it.

Seems like a really large leap to come to the conclusion that Target support killing gays, but hey, if that's how you feel, then you shouldn't shop there.

I think the conclusion that you all draw is a bit out of context... Unless he directly donated to that "punk-rock ministry", he could've easily donated to any other cause and people like to associate names to other names just to give a false image.

I pretty much have the mindset of Matt and G2 on this.
Sure, it's some pretty crazy news to hear, but by no means will I suddenly change my shopping habits in disgust.

It would be hard for me to boycott Target, because Wal-Mart sucks so much.

One of my friend's cousins currently lives in Austria... birthplace of Hitler.
In other news, my friend clearly supported the Holocaust.

While I don't plan on not shopping at Target, I'm a little more concerned that this guy has strong beliefs on the "chemical castration of sex offenders". Don't get me wrong, I'm not support sex offenders, but given the vast ways one could be labled a sex offender that doesn't include sexual assult or minors, that seems a little harsh to set as a "standard".
