Boycotting your local Target over something like this is about as effective as not buying a candy bar from your local BP franchise. I have boycotted buying anything from BP as well.

There is absolutely nothing so far that has stated directly that Target, as a company, supports the killing of Gays and Lesbians. Everything so far is just assumptions based off of the donation from one entity to another.
Target donated money to MF, because of their main cause. MF put together ads for Tom Emmer because their main cause is a shared cause with Emmer.
The fact that Emmer can be linked to an association that supports the killing of Gays and Lesbians does not directly mean that MF, nor Target supports that. Jump to all the conclusions you want, but all you're doing is making an assumption.

another thing that might shock us. You all know of those salvation army bellringers in the front of the store? Target doesn't allow them do it in front of there ! That was to prevent a lawsuit mostly. Because if they let one group solicit in front of the store they have to let every group do so or they go crying discrimination now-a-days.

That would be ing intellectually- disabled. I understand hurting them in the cleanup, but deliberately putting one of the biggest corporations in the world under would be madness. So you support the killing of gays and lesbians? Just because he's shopping at a store, doesn't mean he supports the killing of homosexuals. Its just buying some food, not some major political statement.

If there was a store that contributed to someone who wanted to kill white people, you'd be outraged and would boycott it.

I don't think Target supports the killing of homosexuals. I really find that hard to believe, maybe your just kind of blowing this out of proportion. IDK, I just don't see how Target or whoever Target is supporting could get away with killing homosexuals.

Or many African nations. They can support those groups.

You are legally allowed to claim "gay panic" as your defense in killing gay people. Like they were hitting on you or you felt threatened by their actions and you kill them, you claim "gay panic" and the jury could always side with them.

I will still wish too go shopping at target. They made a donation too a company that helps a business man who supposedly supports this bad thing. How do we know for sure emmer even knew the band did. How do we even know for sure it does? How do we know the company knew about emmer's beliefs if those are his beliefs? I mean seriously I doubt a company would demand too know every single belief and detail about a candidate. I doubt Target would want too know every single detail about every single person that there donations go too.
I mean thats like saying you won't donate money too underpriviledged children charities because one of the children may be racist against white people and wish too kill them. They I am sure have dozens if not hundreds of people they support. Just because 1 of them people supports a band that is in support of hate crimes doesn't mean that Target supports them also. Too think so would be crazy.

Yeah, but killing someone because they're gay, wouldn't that be considered a hate crime. I mean you can't just kill someone because they were hitting on you and if you did I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get away with it.

With the passage of the Matthew Shepard Act, killing or harming a gay person because they are gay is considered a hate crime. Look at the Larry King case, the boy who killed him is claiming gay panic because Larry supposedly hit on him.

If a person kills someone because they were being hit on by someone of the same sex, then they are clearly mentally unstable. If another guy hit on me, I would never kill him, it wouldn't even bother me, I'd just be like sorry, I'm not into dudes. Hell, I'd even probably offer my friendship. If a person kills a homosexual and gets away with it because they claim this "gay panic" business, then that's really ed up. It's not right for someone to take another's life because of something so stupid and then get away with it. Anyone who is capable of murdering someone so easily does not belong with the rest of normal society.

If I'm going to donate my money, I'm for sure going to check out what they support and what they don't. I'm not going to blindly donate my money. There is no way you can agree with everything one person believes and/or supports, so why ever donate your money? Say I want to donate some of my paycheck to the American Cancer Society, a huge group with a very good primary objective. Now, let's say one staffer out of the hundreds that make up the organization doesn't like black people. I like black people. Should I go out of my way to cancel my check because one single man or woman feels differently? Bear in mind this money will not go toward the slaughter or demeaning of said black people, but cancer research. My point is, Slappy, you can't oppose an entire corporation because of one person. The odds that you disagree with what one of those people supports or doesn't support are astronomical. It's unfair to fault every other person associated with Target because you disagree with the actions of one guy. Like, my grandpa didn't like blacks -- and I hate to go back to that example, but it's a good one. Should every black person I want to make friends with boycott or petition my friendship because of something out of my control? Am I to be punished because of something someone associated with me believes? Don't be silly.
