Just bought 10 more BCA figs on Ebay this week. I have a problem... Jealous! I’m still trying to find a decently priced Clarence Mason. I loved that character and the figure. I saw one at a shop but it was in the NoD four pack. I just couldn’t part with the $35 that it cost 😭 If anyone sees or has a loose Mason for sale or trade, HMU! Actually he is one of the 10. I bought the Crush/Mason 2 pack. I doubt I'll display it. Shoot me a dm on it

How mad am I that KB Toys literally had Monster Rings for $5 when I was a kid? 😂 I actually had 3 of them. My mom bought me one, I bought another and somehow I ended up with a third. Don’t have them anymore. Now I’m about to spend $80 on a MIB one 😂. I’m really shocked they’re so expensive considering they were giving them away at one point. I’ve had dreams about one for the past few months. I just have to get my hands on one. I love how tiny the BCAs are compared to the ring lol. Can’t wait to recreate childhood memories with my little guy! You never want these things to chase you into your dreams. I remember a time when I imagined myself in a store surrounded by new/unreleased Backlash series figures (the old BCA style) and I didn't have enough arms to carry them all. Then I woke up. It was a perfect size ring if you were a kid and just wanted to have nonstop battle royals. The mat space was plentiful and the plastic durable enough to take a beating. I would not recommend standing or sitting in it. You know the saying - once it's cracked, it never goes back. Just bought 10 more BCA figs on Ebay this week. I have a problem... It's as addictive as any wrestling figure line. Worst yet is that it's more affordable than most. Believe me, I know the feeling.

Just left a flea market/swap meet and one booth was asking $30 for a MOC Undertaker. This is the same style of Taker that was in the Championship 4pack box set and the numerous Grudge Match packs and 4 pack box sets.

At the time there wasn't really anything else available, so I put up with the ridiculous scale. But I was so happy when I got the Nitro arena and ring set for Christmas the following year!

Ah, the Monster Ring. I had 2. The original and the Raw is War one. I remember getting the original at TRU along with Sycho Sid and Mankind I think. Those were great rings. So spacious.
Reading through this thread and the Major Wrestling Fig podcast has me feeling like buying at least one on eBay for nostalgia sake. Either Series 1 Taker or Bad Boys Austin. Having trouble tracking down Series 1 on eBay. You guys seem like pros, any tips on what exactly to search on eBay to get the most results?

I never had that ring. I never really played with Jakks either though. I bought a select few. Just the wrestlers I really liked. Vader, Ultimate Warrior, Mankind, Diesel, LOD, New Age Outlaws, and the championship 4 pack just for the belts.

Don't use a lot of search terms right out of the gate; one to three at most should do. Maybe filter by categories (Toys & Hobbies) and brands (JAKKS Pacific) first after your search, then work from there. Save your searches and keep track of all the newest listings that way.

That and Goldust were the first ones I ever got. Taker broke not too long after. Eventually got the Series 2 glow in the dark version.

Some people use the superstars series title and some don't. Some didn't even use Jakks. I got great deals on most and average prices on others. Look at the titles of these auctions for ideas. Best offers are your best friends

I've had considerable luck inserting "Jakks", "BCA", the character name, and a year into my various searches when I feel the need to drill down deeper. Bear in mind that Jakks has put out a few different lines now ("Jakks Razor Ramon" returns less and less BCAs and more and more R3 Halls and Classic line issues every day, it seems). Bit of cross posting here for those who've caught wind of my Twitter handle, but sometimes, you've got to compromise your refusal to buy out of the flea market junker bin when the right opportunity presents itself. This guy was filthy and scuffed to hell, but at $2 just days after Hawkins and Ryder went and put a bit more attention on him, how was I gonna say no? He cleans up pretty nice, all things considered:

He cleans up pretty nice, all things considered: What did you use to clean it? A really, really light dab of generic brand dish soap, slightly hotter than warm water, a handful of cloth-textured paper towels, a few q-tips, and some good old fashioned fingernails. The two big blemishes were on his nose and the missing eyebrow - huge spots of black paint from other toys that had to be beaten away by the soap and water before they'd scrape off clean. All water applications were done by hand to minimize water getting into the torso (no one likes mold or mildew) and to avoid going too hard on the rubber paint apps (he already had a bit of moisture damage that threatened to lift the paint if it got much wetter). It ain't a perfect piece, but at $2, I'm glad to have it.

You ever use a magic eraser? I've considered it, but I think if I were going to do that, I'd keep it relegated to unpainted portions of the sculpts. I don't know for certain how it'd interact with Jakks paint apps, but my cumulative ten-ish years in retail have taught me that those damn things can lift some serious cake off of just about anything. There might be an argument here for buying a guinea pig figure from a similar bin and just going to town on it to see what works and what doesn't? On a similar subject, has anyone done any touch up paint work on these things? If so, what paints have you found work best. I know apps are going to differ between rubber and plastic components, but I have some figures with some worn areas I'd be interested in touching up. Mostly black paint, if that helps.

I used the eraser on an Ultimate Warrior Jakks. Used it on the skin tones. Worked well. Like you said though, didn't want to use it on paint apps. I used it on my Galoobs that I got from my buddies attic. Took off scuffs, not paint. I was at a toy store yesterday and they had a bin of just trashed Jakks for a couple bucks each. Might not be a bad idea to get a guinea pig. They also had a real clean Scott Steiner Galoob for $6 and I just paid $15 shipped on eBay. DOH!!!!

Y’all I can’t wait to get my Monster Ring next Saturday 😭. I’m literally 27 and I plan on playing with that while chucking a few Four Lokos haha. Seriously, I’m just glad to have some of my childhood back.
