One of the more curious ring attire choices for the BCA line belonged to the WrestleMania XIV Series Rocky Maivia figure. It was released to stores in the summer of 1998 and most certainly did not live up to its name if that meant an accurate representation of The Rock at WMXIV. Instead, we got a quasi-repaint of Rocky Maivia's black and teal ring gear from the Championship Title Series 4-pack with "THE ROCK" printed on his right thigh. Did The Rock ever wear the long tights his figure had in the Wrestlemania XIV Series? I know he didnt wear them at the event. But I've always thought his figure looked cool with long tights. Did The Rock ever wear the long tights his figure had in the Wrestlemania XIV Series? I know he didnt wear them at the event. But I've always thought his figure looked cool with long tights. Pretty sure he never did. Also, I liked how the WMXIV set were comprised of figures that didn't actually wear that attire at WMXIV. Michaels in white (where the match he wore red), Rock in long pants (as opposed to his tights with "THE ROCK" on the back...which was the figure I was hoping for). Not real as actually being on WWF TV? No, definitely not lol. Probably the biggest stretch of the imagination relating to the BCA line. Unless, of course, you reserve that right for Rocky Maivia's fantasy attire in the WrestleMania XIV Series. As you can see, we've discussed it to some extent before in this thread, but I wanted to share something that I've had saved in a document for about five years. I can't remember where I first heard this, but an explanation was once given for the unusual BCA Rocky figure wearing long tights. Here it is: I would hope that this was the case and Jakks had a reason for doing what they did. Otherwise, I just..don't... know. It was also brought to my attention recently that Toys"R"Us held a promotion involving BCA figures during WrestleMania XIV season. Anyone who purchased the pay-per-view broadcast for $34.95 was eligible to receive a coupon for $10 off their bill by spending at least $10 on Jakks WWF figures at their local TRU store during the month of March 1998. Considering what was freshly available on the pegs at that time (Slammers Series 1, Ripped and Ruthless Series 1), I can't say for sure that I would have participated, but I know for a fact that I bought WM XIV on PPV since I still have the original broadcast recorded to an old VHS tape! WWF pay-per-views for under $35? Check. BCA figure promotions at Toys"R"Us? Check. Original PPV broadcasts on VHS tape? Check. I think I hit nostalgia overload on this one.

Here's a tidbit that you may not know or remember about the Raw Is War series that was released to stores in July 1999. Courtesy of Crosby's Q&A column from AFR on July 12, 1999: I had never heard this before, but it did always strike me as odd that the assortment had only four figures instead of the standard number of six. The only other mention that I've found of the Billy Gunn and HHH Raw Is War series figures comes from HBREAKID's old message board on July 23, 1999: Nothing ever came of that post, and I guess we'll never know if such figures were ever meant to exist as part of that series. However, there were rumors at that time of a BCA Billy Gunn figure in pink trunks with blue trim/lips, but the closest we ever came to that was in Backlash Series 3. Odds are, the Billy Gunn figure would have appeared in white as it did in the Grudge Match Series 2-pack (released in July 1999) opposite Series 8 Ken Shamrock. If there were to have been a Raw Is War HHH figure, it would have likely been a re-release or repaint of the Deadly Games Series (also released in July 1999). I don't believe that either Billy Gunn or HHH were shipped to stores in the Raw Is War series, but if there ever were two names to be considered, they are a safe bet.

Here is a picture of my BCA collection. I sold all my original BCA figures years ago - but good thing I did, they were all beat up from playing with them. So over the past few years I have picked up the ones I missed having in my collection or the ones I never had in my collection but always wanted. So I am pretty happy with what I have gotten in the past few years.

If I'm not mistaken we never got that Taker in gray like pictured in BCA series 7 or the 2 pack with Viscera it ended up being black right?

If I'm not mistaken we never got that Taker in gray like pictured in BCA series 7 or the 2 pack with Viscera it ended up being black right? Right. We never got Undertaker in that light shade of gray, as seen here from the 2 Tuff Series 3/Superstars Series 7 prototype. Here it appears even lighter on the back of the 2 Tuff Series 3 card. Of course, the version that we got and was most often used looked more like this early 2 Tuff Series 5 prototype in dark gray/black. In classic Jakks fashion, they opted not to release it like that for the 2-pack with Viscera, instead going with this repaint. It would have been all well and good had they not released that figure earlier in the year as a premium mail-away exclusive to ToyFare Magazine. So much for being a 1/8,000 exclusive after all...

Ya I remember hearing back in the day when they first announced that lineup for the 5th wave of those 2 packs that it was supposed to be Mideon/Viscera. Did u ever hear that as well? I bet they just threw that Taker in there instead.

I bet they just threw that Taker in there instead. I've heard Mideon's name mentioned once or twice alongside Viscera. Something about an "Acolyte" and Viscera, too, but that could have just been a placeholder name. For the longest time, Debra and Double J were either rumored or close to confirmed. The Godfather and Val Venis were supposed to happen at one point (I believe Ringside Collectibles even had pics up on their site), but they were replaced by Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. New versions of New Age Outlaws figures were likely always going to be made since the popular duo hadn't appeared in a BCA 2-pack together for nearly a year. Other names that I've seen rumored for 2 Tuff Series 5 include, but are not limited to, the following: LOD 2000 Droz/Animal J.O.B. Squad (Bob Holly/2 Cold Scorpio or 2 Cold Scorpio/Gillberg) Tiger Ali Singh/Babu The Acolytes (Farooq/Bradshaw) P.M.S. - Pretty Mean Sisters (Terri/Jacqueline) The Hardy Boys (Matt/Jeff Hardy) The Brood (Edge/Christian) Here's a MOC pic for those unaware of the final 2 Tuff Series 5 line-up (released to stores in September 1999):

Back in September 1998, WWF merchandise invaded the JCPenney Gift Catalog. One of the featured items was an exclusive set of four Slammers figures with facsimile signatures. It was priced at $19.99, and it included Signature Slammers figures of: Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, Kane, and Undertaker. For several years, the only decent picture that I could find of this set online was from the Jakks Figure Heaven page: Thanks to two sellers on eBay, I've been able to track down better images of the set, in and out of the box. Enjoy! Wow looking at this thread I think I want to restart my BCA collection! How do you find lots for sale of them? eBay isn't helping too much :/ A general search for wwf lot in Toys & Hobbies -> Action Figures on eBay is always a good place to start. Sometimes, there isn't much that you can do if people aren't willing to sell their collections. Are you looking for any figures in particular? I could try to look for you. So this past week I made a purchase. I broke down and bought the new Mattel Hall of Fame Classic Cage Ring. As soon as I assembled it, I realized just how long I'd been wanting this ring. And I thought these pictures would help describe it. I wish I had this ring when the BCA line first came out. I fully plan on getting some BCAs out and having some of the cage matches that I should have had in 1997. Very cool. This is precisely the reason why I bought the Tribute to the Troops ring for its blue base and red/white/blue ring ropes. I would love to own that ring for the cage, but I have to remind myself that it's only window dressing and the ring itself isn't worth another purchase. It reminds me of the old JusToys WWF Bend-Ems ring from the mid-90's, except in a slightly more positive way.

That is a remarkable signed BCA figure collection. Maybe even the best that I've ever seen, come to think of it. It would be incredible to have all 10 wrestler's signatures on the Perfect 10 boxed set. I hope that you can make it happen someday. Also, I like that you've reached deep in the BCA archives for autographs. DTA Tour Series 1, Best of '97 Series 1/2, Undertaker/Bearer 2-pack, Backlash Superstars Series 1-4, Superstars Series 1 re-releases, and all of the BCA boxed sets are uncommon items to get signed, so I commend you for making the effort. The anecdotes paired with the photos are priceless. Thank you for sharing the link as I may have missed it otherwise. Edit: I almost forgot about your autographed Tag Team Series 1 New Blackjacks figures. I find it very amusing that Bradshaw and Windham signed next to their incorrectly labeled photos. Windham should be on the left and Bradshaw should be on the right, but if Jakks couldn't be arsed to correct it then why should the wrestler's themselves, you know?

Thanks for your compliments...to finish off that perfect 10 would be amazing...i only have a few different wrestlers that i need to complete my collection (sadly they are the bigger names & harder to get). I've always tried to collect the figures that were not only rare at the time but ones thst I liked. Not to mention, when I get something signed, I prefer for it to be out of the norm if possible because everyone is always getting CS or Mattels signed at this point or before that RA's so Im sure to the wrestler its nice to see something older to bring the nostalgia feel to them & maybe get a cool reaction. And yup I noticed that on the Blackjacks too lol

Does anybody ever remember the rumor of a Undertaker/Fake Undertaker 2 pack from their 1994 match back in the BCA days? I don't, but apparently a guy named Tony D from July 1997 might. He was looking for an Undertaker 2-pack back when no such thing existed. It would have been ridiculously easy for Jakks to recreate that match with a couple of repainted Superstars Series 1/Series 2 Undertaker figures. Taker vs. Mankind and Ahmed vs. Goldust would have also made for great looking MOC sets alongside Razor/Diesel, Bret/Owen, HBK/Vader and Sid/Bulldog.
