Why would you want Hogan, Sting & Flair re released 3 times? In different attires yes absolutely so many to choose from but why the same figure? Its not that I would want it. I was basing it off of the way Jakks chose to release WWF. Check out the first few series of WWF BCA and you'll see why Yes, for added realism. There were 13 new figures released by Jakks out of a possible 18 in the three original Superstars Series assortments; make that a total of 20 if you include the Diesel and Goldust re-releases from the later shipments of Superstars Series 3. 3Lephant (Naptown Icon) is actually holding back a spot in his lineup for Series 3, which I might give to Johnny B. Badd (a la Series 1 Razor/Diesel) or one of the Cruiserweights (Eddy Guerrero, Rey Mysterio Jr, Dean Malenko - take your pick). I'm not as well-versed on WCW talent as I am with the WWF roster from that time period, but your selections seem fine to me. Anyone with knowledge of the '95-'96 WCW roster care to comment? Should the nWo have made it in by Series 3 (Released February 1997)?

I'm not sure if this has been asked before. But what if the rolls were switched? What if Jakks Pacific had the WCW license instead of Toy Biz? And Toy Biz made WWF figures? What would the first couple series have looked like given the time frame? That is actually a really great question! say 96? hmmm.. some others steiners, harlem heat, possibly road warriors, also possibly the outsiders pre-nwo (all being first 2 pack series?), Dean Malenko, Alex Wright, and probably some others i cant think of off the top of my head. and Chicago I'd say NWO most definitely would have figs by that time (especially if that 2 pack of the outsiders came to be ). then all they'd have to is repaint. they were the hottest commodity in WCW so im sure Jakks would've put it in to high gear. They probably would've put out as many repaints of Hall Nash and Hogan as they did Steve Austin haha. also possibly Piper by 97. Man I would've loved a Piper BCA figure with leather jacket n stuff.

Just the thought of a WCW takeover of the BCA Tag Team Series is enough to make my mouth water. I think you hit the nail on the head with your suggestions for Series 1: Harlem Heat The Steiner Brothers The Outsiders The Road Warriors (if not them, maybe Sting and Lex Luger?) As much as I love the figures we got in that one and only Jakks WWF Tag Team Series (New Blackjacks, Legion of Doom, Headbangers and Godwinns), I think I would have gladly passed on them in favor of those WCW 2-packs. Classic BCA Steiners would have ruled my fed.

Or you could go the other way and what if Toybiz had the WWF license?

Or you could go the other way and what if Toybiz had the WWF license? That would be a topic for another day thread board. Toy Biz didn't start on the WCW license until early 1998 I believe, which means they would have missed out on a lot of the earlier Jakks WWF characters anyway.

I always get nostalgic seeing adverts for WWF merchandise circa 1997. Check these out: Credit: Past eBay listings

Excellent work, ellisd! I watched the 1996 King of the Ring yesterday and thought to myself, "I really wish there were more BCA Jake Roberts customs." I love everything about it, and for my money there's no better base to use than the Backlash Series 5 Al Snow figure. Hot Rod really looks exceptional and about as good as it gets using those parts. Same for Sergeant Slaughter and The Undertaker. There's something about Golden Age WWF BCA customs that genuinely excites me, and of course your work impresses me to no end. Please keep doing what you do. I can't speak for anyone else, but it's fun for me to live vicariously through your talents.

I'm surprised how well the Al Snow head works for Jake after modding it a little. It doesn't look just like Jake, but works for a pre-real scan look. I've got more in the works, just gotta get the right mix of parts.

Saw this for sale on a Facebook wrestling group and I thought I'd share as I've never seen something like this for BCA figures. A three pack featuring the buried alive taker, ripped and ruthless taker and stomp 1 taker. There's probably a stone cold one out there too. To my knowledge, both Undertaker and Stone Cold 3-packs were exclusive to Hills department stores in October of 1998. I never noticed it before now, but it appears two of the three figures in the Stone Cold set may have a variation. The Ripped and Ruthless Series 1 figure remains the same through it all, but check out both versions in the links below: With S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 and debut Superstars Series 4 Austin figuresWith KB Special Edition Series 2 and Slammers Series 1 Austin figuresThe box art is also slightly different (check the warning labels in the top right corner). Considering the second picture has french text throughout, could it have been a Canadian exclusive?

Those customs are sweet. I remember when I was younger I would always look at the old angelfire/geosites or whatever they're called and look at the BCA customs everyone made. I always just loved the BCA line even though it came to an end around the same time I was born
