Thanks for sharing that. Today, Goldust should only run you about $10 MOC, but Diesel can still go for as much as $20. Color me jealous. I was holding out hope that Ringside would take pity upon me and send me all of their old BCA stock if no one bought it. $50-60 is very reasonable for a MOC set nowadays, and more power to you for deciding not to open it. It looks better MOC anyway. I also ordered the Bret/Owen set too off of Ringside for $70. I didn't care if it was that much, I always wanted these sets and I love BCAs, so to me they were worth that much. I remember I heard a saying once, and I always stick with it. "Something is only worth as much as you are willing to pay for it." So with me, BCAs are definitely worth it! Nice! I don't blame you. I have the Bret/Owen and Diesel/Razor sets. I really never see the HBK/Vader or Sid/Bulldog anywhere. Also, was Sid vs. Bulldog ever a program? I don't recall seeing it.

Honestly can't remember how I ended up with it, as I know I didn't buy it in store or online, unless I got it as part of a lot on ebay.

I have a massive collection of BCA figures from Series 1 through probably 1999 or so. I don't remember when I stopped collecting but I was a completely obsessed with trying to get just about everything there ever was. I kept all of them carded and I have probably 20+ big rubbermaid tubs of figures, box sets, and other random wrestling stuff (even an authentic Owen 3:16 shirt I bought at a house show which I can't even understand how much it's worth since none seem to exist in the past 10 years). I'd think the cards are in decent shape but haven't seen them in so long to know. Even though it's been 15 years I can remember off the top of my head that I definitely have the hard to find stuff including Entire Series 1, Razor/Diesel 2 pack, Bret/Owen 2 pack, Survivor Series box sets, the box set with the executioner, a bunch of the bagged toy fair exclusive Austins and Undertakers and tons more. I spent my entire childhood collecting.
All of them are in a relative's attic and I live out of state now. I'm planning on taking a trip and trying to go through all of this stuff to sell. It sounds like a nightmare to go through and list each and every one of these items on ebay.
I'm thinking I can help complete a lot of collections out there. Obviously I have to go through all of it but if any serious collector out there wants to chat I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

This Day In BCA History: December 9 I posted this link before back in April, but if ever there was an appropriate time to discuss such a thing, now is it! On this day TWENTY years ago, Jon from Ringside Collectibles informed the collecting community of new “realistic-type” WWF action figures set to come out in 1996. These would become the Jakks Pacific Bone Crunching Action figures that we all know and love. For those that cannot access the link, here is what Jon wrote in his original Usenet post: A guy by the name of Keith Robitaille saw fit to share this response one day later: Never change, Keith. Actually, come to think of it, Keith may have been responsible for this little ditty here.

I picked a loose red and black Yokozuna for cheap at a comic shop. Figured somebody here might be needing him.

So, I've been watching some of the RAWs of 96 and I'm wondering: Why did we never get a 123-Kid? I believe he left in February '96, but weren't Diesel and Razor only there a month longer? Regardless. I LOVE the selection of X-Pac figures we got, but the black and red Backlash figure has to be my favorite. I'm on the search for it right now because, strangely enough, Kane and X-Pac are probably my favorite tag team ever.

I LOVE the selection of X-Pac figures we got, but the black and red Backlash figure has to be my favorite. I'm on the search for it right now because, strangely enough, Kane and X-Pac are probably my favorite tag team ever. I think the main reason Jakks never made a BCA 1-2-3 Kid figure is because he was irrelevant to the scene by the time the first series hit toy stores in June of 1996. Some people might say he had a chance as long as Jakks was still re-issuing Diesel figures in May of 1997, but I don't buy that argument. The Kid was a lower mid-card heel in a lower mid-card heel stable during his last few months with the company. That's not exactly the type of character that gets picked for a spot alongside Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart on the pegs, you know? My guess is that if he were ever to be considered, it would have had to happen before Superstars Series 2 was released in October '96 (eight months after the Crybaby match sounds about right). Though, I can't honestly say that knowing what I know now: Series 4, a.k.a. "Bad Boys", was released in July 1997. Prototypes for the eventual Series 4 figures were unveiled at NYC's Toy Fair in mid February 1997, which means the line-up was all but confirmed by the time Jake split from the WWF. Mark Henry had a brief run initially when he signed with the WWF in August 1996, but then he only made sporadic appearances until November 1996 when he left to heal injuries/train to compete and he was gone for a full year. If you go back even further in the BCA timeline to late November 1996, you'll find that the line-up for Superstars Series 3 was revealed and both Bret and Shawn's names are mentioned. Superstars Series 2 was announced back in mid August 1996, and the original Superstars Series 1 figures can be traced back to early December 1995. Jon from Ringside Collectibles is responsible for that last one (almost 20 years ago!) and that occurred not even two months after Jakks and Titan Sports entered into a licensing agreement to produce 6" WWF figures. December 1995: Superstars Series 1 lineup revealed (Kid aligns with the Million Dollar Corporation as of November '95) August 1996: Superstars Series 2 lineup revealed (Kid wrestles last WWF match as of May '96) November 1996: Superstars Series 3 lineup revealed (Kid/Syxx is now in WCW and joins the nWo as of September '96) February 1997: Superstars Series 4 "Bad Boys" lineup revealed (Syxx is soon to become WCW Cruiserweight Champ at Souled Out '97) Going by those dates, The 1-2-3 Kid never really had much of a chance at a BCA figure unless Jakks or the WWF were to have taken pity on him in the very early stages.

Hell of an answer, man. There were definitely bigger fish to fry with the first two series having so many big names. I tend to forget that as part of my love for BCA comes from me being a fan of obscure guys like Kurrgan and Marc Mero.

Wanted to hit a quick post, not specifically BCA figure related but wanted everyone on here to see it. I don't have a lot of money but love wrestling figs, I have a small BCA collection but nothing big. If anyone is looking to get rid of any figures for any reason if you would like to donate them to me instead of just giving them away hit me up. Thanks for the time, and love the board.

This has probably already been answered, but I recently picked up the TRU 4-Pack exclusive Ultimate Warrior. The only green BCA Warrior made i believe loose but mint condition. Anyone know anything about it's worth? Yes, it varies in price, but I think an acceptable amount for one in loose mint condition is $10-12. Speaking of that Survivor Series 4-pack, I just happen to be looking through an old issue of Lee's Toy Review and look what I spot: I guess this pretty much confirms that there were in fact variations to this original Jakks WWF boxed set. This was previously discussed in the thread, so here's a recap for those that might have missed it: There was a Pink torso Bret released in Survivor Series?? Oddly enough, I posted this one year ago today: Not sure if I overpaid or not but I just won Series 1, MOC for $50 plus shipping. One of my favorite series of the entire run. Nothing wrong with that price. Series 1 is the premier BCA assortment and a complete MOC set will always be in demand. Speaking of Series 1 (and Series 2 for that matter), check out these variant Survivor Series sets that recently showed up on eBay: Superstars Series 2 Bret Hart included (along with Frankendust)Superstars Series 2 Shawn Michaels included (along with Glenn Quagmire Bret Hart)The most common Survivor Series set features both Series 1 HBK and Bret Hart together, as shown below. I knew that these variants (the Superstars Series 2 repaints) existed before, but this may be the first time I've ever seen them listed. Just thought I'd share that little e-finding. Here's another picture of a listing with Series 2 HBK: I don't really know what to make of it, but here's what I said to ellisd recently when we were discussing it: So I just saw on ebay, someone selling the BCA Survivor Series 4 pack with the exclusive green attire Warrior. The one they have listed comes with the series 2 red tights Shawn, but mine and all others I've seen have the original BCA Shawn in it. Any idea if this is real or not? I don't know much about it, but I do believe it is a legitimate variation. And it doesn't just involve Shawn. In the past year alone, I've seen: Series 1 Shawn with Series 2 Bret Series 2 Shawn with Series 1 Bret Series 2 Shawn with Series 2 Bret The most common pairing you'll find is Series 1 Shawn with Series 1 Bret. Why are there so many variations? I couldn't say for sure. I would like to think that it had something to do with a carry-over of Series 1 and Series 2 shipments to Toys"R"Us stores in the fall of '96. The reason I say that is because the Survivor Series 4-pack that I own includes a variation of Goldust with Series 2 Vader arms. That couldn't have happened unless Series 2 was already in stores, so maybe the odd HBK/Bret pairings came about because of the availability of Series 2 figures at roughly the same time. I don't believe I have a picture saved of the variation with both Series 2 figures, but I could've sworn I saw it at some point. It seems plausible to me since Superstars Series 2 and the Survivor Series 4-packs were receiving shipments at roughly the same time (October/November '96). Was there a limited edition run of the sets featuring Series 2 figures sent to Toys"R"Us stores? Could a few have slipped through the cracks unintentionally or before a change was made? Is it possible that there are/were multiple switcheroos that exist in different cities for no apparent reason? It is puzzling to say the least. What do you think? Both Survivor Series sets I've had, one of which I bought in stores when it was released, has the Series 1 grouping with no variations. I guess I should trust this if there are enough cases to support the variations on the box set. Maybe we should ask the sellers posting them if the tape is still sealed? I remember during the days of the BCA Revival (2001?) with the new molds, they set up a "clearance" tent outside of the TRU Store. Inside the tent were countless Jacquelines, Dr Death, and Toy Biz Scott Halls. As fun as a huge clearance tent was, I would use my time machine to travel back to get my first couple BCA figures again. I picked up Series 2 Bret Hart and Undertaker at TRU sometime in 1997, with the Survivor Series box set to follow. If I could I would have picked up the whole set! I would have also used a time machine to stop my brother from throwing my green Ultimate Warrior against the wall, breaking its leg off Yeah, I do wish I would have asked a few of those sellers about the condition of the boxes, but from what I remember the photos all looked legitimate to me. I mean, it's not like the Series 1 Bret/HBK figures were that much more desirable than their Series 2 repaints. Why would someone feel the need to swap those out and replace them with nearly identical versions? It doesn't make sense, and that's before you consider that these all belonged to sellers in different cities across the U.S. Another reason why I think variants might exist is because the back card of the Razor Ramon and Diesel 2-pack gives us a preview of what it might look like: Did Jakks know something that the rest of us didn't about there being multiple versions of the Survivor Series 4-pack? Here's another one to add to the list, courtesy of eBay seller massavemedia. This one sold for a little over $30 and it included Series 2 HBK, Series 1 Bret, Series 1 Goldust with one glove (!) and the aforementioned Series 2 Warrior repaint.

Chicago: The Bret in the 2nd 4 pack pictured in your post has Razor's arms, down to the 2 different colored elbow pads.

One sold for $70 on eBay about a week and a half ago. From what I've seen in the past few months, you can still expect to get at least $45 for the Survivor Series 4-pack mint/sealed in box.

After a few days of searching I found the Backlash Series 2 X-Pac! (I believe. He's in the Black/Red Summerslam 99 attire.) Now I'm just hoping the matching Kane pops up. I've also been looking at the champions 4 pack with Rock/Austin/Kane/X-Pac. Did X-Pac ever wear that attire? I'm almost positive he didn't, but it's pretty sweet looking.

Any idea why the BCA line hasn't retained any of its value? There's so much nostalgia surrounding the LJN and Hasbro lines, yet the BCA's have never been as popular.

I think it's because there were so many bca figures and so many variations and so mass produced. I don't think we'll ever see the ljn hasbro galoob osftm nostalgia again because of this ?
