theoutlaw1999 I'm really sorry for coming across like a d*ck on this, but there's no reason to quote a bunch of pictures! This isn't the fix up thread! lol! Chicago Feel free to tell me to mind my own business, but do you know if any of these eBay winnings lately came out of Missouri? I only ask because there's a store in Columbia (Slacker's) that sells old toys, cds, game, vinyls, ect. A few months back I went in and they had a good 20-30 MOC BCA's. I forgot about 'em and went in right before Christmas and they were all gone. No, it's okay. I don't mind. I purchased the majority of these items from a seller's personal collection based out of New York, so I doubt it was from that store. I never knew they made a Steve Blackman in wrestling gear. Yep, but only once in the DTA Tour Series 2 assortment. The Razor/Sid arms are really the only drawback to this figure. Otherwise, it's a fairly smart upgrade for Jakks to have made eight months after Blackman's debut figure. Just curious, what arms would you pick for the Blackman instead of the Sid/Razor arms? I've never thought about it and only have one of this figure so I don't wanna mess it up trying to fix the arms.

Since they share the same Sid torso, how about Billy Gunn arms? You could also try Executioner or Brian Christopher arms because Blackman did always have a fair amount of muscle.

Yeah, I think the Billy Gunn arms would work here. I'm curious to see what it would look like now.

Several months back I was messing around with a 2 Tuff Series 3 Kane and 2 Tuff Series 5 Stone Cold Steve Austin when I decided to do a little desktop homage to the main event of Raw on June 29, 1998. Austin had a serious staph infection in his right elbow at that time, so I used the white elbow pad from CS10 Dusty Rhodes with a regular black TTL elbow pad underneath to capture that look. Naturally, I went with the Mattel Attitude Era/Big Eagle title belt from the RSC Exclusive Texas Rattlesnake figure because I think it's the best version of that belt. Are there any moments from WWF/WWE history that you've attempted to recreate with your BCA figures lately?

Last time I did anything with my BCAs I did a short show to humor a friend. I dunno if I still have pictures or not. I purposely booked it as though a kid I was a kid playing with figures, though. Dude Love and Sid challenged for the tag titles against Bulldog and Pillman!

I came to the realization today that I like Adam Rose's Mattel figures even though I do not consider myself a fan of his.
Can any BCA figure collectors relate to this phenomenon?
Have you ever collected more than one figure of someone, specifically from this line, whose only worth to you is in their plastic form?
I feel this way about any of the Disciples of Apocalypse figures (Chainz, 8-Ball or Skull; maybe even Crush, too) since I've gone out of my way to try and buy one of every repaint or re-release, yet I cannot say I've ever enjoyed a single match of theirs.

I remember seeing that kurrgan at a local store when i was a kid. seemed like it sat there forever. always liked the tie-dye shirt it came with but never bought it. Always thought the kurrgan figures were some of the best of the BCAs

I've gotta give it to Ahmed Johnson. Not a fan of his, but the figures are spot on.

You really found that Backlash X-Pac after only a few days? It took me years to get that fig lol. The X-Pac in that Champions 4 Pack is supposed to be based off his attire at Wrestlemania 15, but the color is off in a couple of places. These were my 2 holy grails as X-Pac is my all-time favorite and I always wanted BCA figures of him in these 2 attires as a kid. I was able to pick them both up barely within the past year, in September I met him for the 1st time and got my Backlash figure signed. According to Jakks, neon green = yellow lol. It helped that I was looking for it loose, I guess. Kane and X-Pac might just be my favorite tag team ever, so I absolutely needed to get them, starting with X-Pac. X-Pac was a great tag partner to many, but I always felt that he and Kane brought something special out in each other. I just wish WWF/E wouldn't have broke them up so soon because it didn't do either of them any favors. X-Pac arrived today! The torso is a little loose, but it's still awesome. 'Tis a great repaint, and a VERY hard one to find at that. I often wonder if it was shortpacked in the limited number of Backlash Series 2 cases that were sent out. Unfortunately, I don't have the numbers to back it up, but I can assure you I've seen WAY more Series 1 and Series 5 X-Pac figures than I've ever seen this one. Especially mint on the card; I've probably only seen five or six tops in all of my years searching eBay. Unfortunately you won't be able to find it on Amazon. I've been trying to list mine since there is no listing for it, and since all the figures in the later Jakks series share the same UPC, Amazon won't let me list it. I had to list this figure under a different Backlash figure and hoping someone reads the description to see it's X-Pac. Quite a few figures (TTL 1 and up i believe all have the UPC problem) are not able to be listed on Amazon. I try to tell them and they have been "working on it" for over a month now.

I've gotta give it to Ahmed Johnson. Not a fan of his, but the figures are spot on. Yeah, Jakks sure did get the most out of that red attire. Superstars Series 3 (Feb. '97) King of the Iron Rungs 4-pack (Oct. '97) Triple Threat 3-pack (Oct. '97) Best of '97 Series 1 (Dec. '97) Special Edition Series 1 (Mar. '98) I'm sure that had Ahmed's heel run with the Nation of Domination lasted longer than a cup of tea, Jakks would have issued a repaint in his all black gear. Anyone here ever attempt it with a S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 Ahmed Johnson head swap? That I would like to see.

That is strange, but I wouldn't expect any less from Amazon. The Backlash Series 2 X-Pac figure really needs its own listing since there are so few available online. It took me quite a while to find it MOC, but it was worth it to have a mint figure. It's not X-Pac's best Jakks figure or anything, but it's the closest to a heel 1-2-3 Kid attire that we would ever get with the BCA figures.

I can't believe that in just a few short hours I'll be joining the 27 club. No, not that 27 Club, but today is my 27th birthday! The only club I hope to belong to in the near future is the one where you share scans of old toy magazines with your peers and reminisce about the good ol' days. I've dug up a few issues of Lee's, so let's take a trip back to late summer/early fall 1998 and see what Jakks had in store for us. P.S. Happy birthday to fellow WF members "The Gothic Superstar" Ronin, @apwekzor, @avmufc, @bboy, @camkruse81, @camtheone, @dafirastarta1, @eltaker, Venom_Spewer, hulk86, @jeffwhaley06, @jeje0890, marklud, @mikeblizered, @murrayyyyy, @ptcollector, r1ch1e, @rifismint, @sirjoseole, @thecameron81, @themasterelite, @tmillhone, @weirdchris25, and wyleecyotee! I got em all back in late 1998 or early 99, but that series seems like it was intended for the year 1997 and was produced anyway. It seemed random to have those guys(although I was very happy to), especially having that new Shawn Michaels. It felt like the time I got War Zone on PS1, it had outdated and long gone superstars from 1997 even though it was almost 1999 when released. It's amazing how depleted the roster was in just 1 1/2 yrs time.

It felt like the time I got War Zone on PS1, it had outdated and long gone superstars from 1997 even though it was almost 1999 when released. It's amazing how depleted the roster was in just 1 1/2 yrs time. Yes, it was very similar to the War Zone roster in that names from 1997 were carried over for a 1998 release. I posted this in a thread regarding Slammers Series 2 figures and I think it helps to explain some of the reasons for the outdated lineup: Badd Blood: In Your House was held in early October 1997. As you're well aware, Brian Pillman was found dead before the night began, and Kane made his debut before the night was over. Slammers Series 2 was released to nearly all stores by August of 1998. Some stores received early shipments in late June and throughout July, or about 9 to 10 months after the PPV had occurred. It is a very strange timeline, to say the least. Kane was obviously a top priority for Jakks at the time, but his debut 6" figure would not have been possible until post-WrestleMania season at the earliest. I can only imagine delays in production are what caused him to linger until the end of summer. I know there were rumors on the 'net dating back to December of '97 about Kane's debut Jakks figure. Many reports indicated it would be in Superstars Series 6, but again there were delays throughout the year that pushed several series back into late summer and early fall of 1998. As a matter of fact, Jakks had plans to phase out the Superstars line entirely in favor of the Slammers Series figures. Unfortunately for them (but fortunately for the rest of us BCA collectors), sales of the Slammers line did not meet expectations and Superstars Series 6 was placed back on the schedule for a September 1998 release. I think Jakks still had high hopes for the Slammers line at that time, hence why Kane's debut figure was of the Slammers variety (along with debuts of Dude Love, The Patriot, and Taka, as well as new sculpts for Pillman and HBK). For the record, Slammers Series 3 would have been the exact same line-up as Superstars Series 6, except with those gaudy action features. The reasoning for Pillman's posthumous release is likely that he signed a contract with Jakks to produce a likeness (or two) of him and, similar to the deals in place for Diesel/Razor Ramon/Bret Hart at the time of their departure, it was to be honored after so much of the work had been done. Otherwise, I would imagine Titan Sports/WWF would have intervened and had the figures pulled from their respective series. By the way, Taka debuted at Canadian Stampede in early July 1997. The Patriot first appeared on a mid-July 1997 episode of RAW; coincidentally, this was also the first sighting of Dude Love (or at least as depicted in his first action figure).

A little question. Was there no WWE figures released between December 1997 and Summer 1998? I was a kid at the time and knew nothing about release dates or series. Great question. Here's what I've got in my records from December 1997 to Summer 1998 (or the end of August): - Best of '97 Series 1 figures begin to show up exclusively at Toys"R"Us stores in late November/early December '97.
- Ringside Collectibles gets the new S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 figures in stock from the factory on December 26th.
- S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 is spotted in Target before the end of the year, then Best of '97 Series 2 figures make their way to both TRU and Wal-Mart stores in early January '98.
- KB Toys has the exclusive rights to the singles release of the red Yokozuna figure appearing in stores in early-to-mid January '98.
- S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 can be found almost everywhere, including Canada, by mid-to-late January '98.
- Legends Series 1 is set to ship to stores, and there is some talk of Slammers Series 1 being at stores by early February '98.
- Shotgun Saturday Night Series 1 is also said to be shipping by early-to-mid February '98. It is expected in stores anytime now.
- KB's Special Edition Series 1 figures have been released, and Ripped and Ruthless Series 1 is spotted at TRU on the West Coast as of mid February '98.
- Also in mid February, Red Yoko can be found at most KB Toys stores, and Legends Series 1 appears at stores like TRU.
- Slammers Series 1 is spotted at TRU here in the U.S. by early March '98.
- Ripped and Ruthless Series 1 is out most everywhere by mid-to-late March '98
- RSC has the new 2 Tuff Series 1 2-packs and Shotgun Saturday Night Series 1 figures in stock and ready to ship in early April '98.
- 2 Tuff Series 1 is reportedly found in Illinois by early-to-mid April '98, then it appears everywhere alongside Shotgun Series 1 by the end of the month.
- Canada gets the new Shotgun Series 1 figures in early-to-mid May '98.
- RSC says on May 27th they expect to have all of the following in stock in just two weeks: Slammers Series 2, WrestleMania XIV Series 1, Attack Pack #1 (a.k.a. Grudge Match Series) HBK vs. Austin 2-pack, and Ripped and Ruthless Series 2.
- Slammers Series 2, the HBK vs. Austin 2-pack and WrestleMania XIV Series/4-pack have all reportedly been spotted in select stores by late June '98.
- RSC has all of the latest figures in stock by July 4th, including: Slammers 2, Ripped and Ruthless 2, WrestleMania XIV, and the HBK/Austin 2-pack.
- One week later and RSC is already taking pre-orders for 2 Tuff Series 2, Ringside Collection Series 2 and the WWF Attitude Ring.
- The Grudge Match HBK vs. Austin 2-pack is spotted in Toys"R"Us/KB Toys stores by mid July '98.
- WrestleMania XIV Series 1 and the accompanying 4-pack is seen exclusively at TRU stores throughout the month of July, especially late.
- Also in late July/early August, the K-Mart Exclusive Attitude 4-pack is said to be out in stores, as well as Slammers Series 2 in certain places.
- RSC begins taking pre-orders for the Grudge Match Series Ken Shamrock vs. Dan Severn 2-pack on August 5th.
- KB Toys has the new White Yoko and Special Edition Series 2 figures in stock by early-to-mid August '98. Most states are seeing releases of the WrestleMania XIV Series, Slammers Series 2 and S.T.O.M.P. Series 2 figures at this same time.
- RSC is accepting pre-orders for Superstars Series 6 beginning on August 12th.
- Ripped and Ruthless Series 2 and S.T.O.M.P. Series 2 show up at most stores by mid-to-late August '98.
- The WrestleMania XIV 3-packs are reportedly found at BJ's Wholesale Club for $9.99 each on August 20th.
- The Grudge Match Series Undertaker vs. Kane 2-pack is said to be out by late August '98, though it appears the release of this set was delayed several weeks.
- FAO Schwartz in New York City hosts a special Rock and D'Lo meet and greet on August 29th. For the occasion, a limited number of Ringside Collection Series 2 and Superstars Series 6 stock are ordered. 2 Tuff Series 2 apparently hasn't come in yet, so these were not available for purchase. Other Jakks items that were available on that day include the Bone Crunchin' Buddies, WrestleMania XIV Series, Slammers Series 2, S.T.O.M.P. Series 2, and Ripped and Ruthless Series 1 and 2.

Shawn Michaels in his SummerSlam 1995 attire is rumored to be released in the Mattel Elite line at some point this year, so I thought now might be a good opportunity to take a look back at the number of times "The Heartbreak Kid" was made in the 6" Jakks BCA figure line (Slammers included).
