I think it was WF member meatybat who shared these pics from his personal collection of a hard copy resin prototype for Slammers Series 2 Dude Love. Really amazing stuff:

It really took me until now to notice that Jakks nailed the head sculpt on Dude Love. They seemed to do a pretty good job with Foley figs during the BCA run.

I found some BCA figs at Ross yesterday, they were 7.00 marked down from 20.00. It was crazy to see something so so old on the shelves.

Which ones did they have?
I might have considered one or two at $7 just for the sake of nostalgia.

The dude love proto looks awesome.
I still remember not liking the HBK from slammer series 2.I only used that figure for interviews and things like that. My favorite HBK was the Best of 1998 one.
I know there are alot of people who did not care for the stomp series. (Include me on that list).
Who was your favorite stomp figure and why?
Mine would have to the rock.I used that figure as a new up and coming superstar who won the united states title twice.

Series 2 was definitely better; the sculpts were a little less obtrusive, and four of the six were debut figures (five, if you don't count Pillman's S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 figure), compared with 0 from Series 1. Waiting in anticipation for a BCA Kane was something special, but even just seeing the prototypes on the back carding for the first time was awe-inspiring as a kid. I remember how awesome it was to come into a store and find the new series of BCA's. It was soo cool finding figures that you didn't know were released, or at least seeing them on the back of the board from a new figure. Although I like hearing from Jakks and Mattel what sets are coming out, and I like seeing the prototypes, its not the same as the BCA days.

^ Yeah, definitely. I remember going on vacation with my mom and stepdad to visit friends of theirs and having a little spending money during the trip. Well, I found Superstars 7 in the store and bought Val Venis, Edge, X-Pac, and Undertaker. I'd never been so blown away by a haul, I mean Val and Edge were cool figures, X-Pac was gonna be debuting in my DX stable, and Undertaker was out on injury at the time in my fed ('cause I had the WMXIV box set Undertaker, and as soon as I knew there was gonna be a newer, more accurate Undertaker I "injured" him for his big return haha). But yeah, man...it was awesome. Here's a topic I don't think we've touched on yet... How many people made home movies with their BCAs? As a kid, I used to make my own episodes of Batman, or X-Men, or whatever kinds of toys I wanted to use. And, of course, this led to my friend and I making videos with our BCA collections. There was the occasional stop-motion (which was NOT easy to do with a video camera that shot in real-time, haha), some string work, and some nice promos. And, of course, the entrances...around Christmastime, I would have these little electric candles in my window which would often get added to my stage for Kane or Undertaker entrances. I wish I could find some of those videos, I'd upload them to my stop-motion channel in a heartbeat haha.

You know, I never was technology-proficient as a kid and the extent of my use when it came to wrestling figures was using the WWF Volume CDs as entrance music every so often. I took the occasional random photo of my collection, but I never started using handheld cameras for fun until, like, the year 2000 or 2001. By that time, I had already moved on to TTL figures, and I don't remember recording any matches with the exception of one time when I think I may have used a Logitech webcam to film a match lol.

I never had a video camera growing up because i always spent my money on more figures for my fig fed.
I used to buy those cheap throw away cameras and i would take a pic of the entrance for the ppv.I still have those pics around here somewhere.
Every year on christmas day i would always have a ppv.I had a small christmas tree that i used as part of my entrance. The tree looked pretty cool with all red lights for kane's entrance.

If I was in a hurry I would just hum the theme music, but most of the time I would use the WWF CDs too. I would turn the lights out and use the blue light from tv for my undertaker entrance. I would use anything I had that would light up for entrances. I also used any playset that I had for different entrances. I remember using Castle Greyskull (He-Man), The Cats Lair (Thundercats), Fisher Price Fire Station, Ninja Turtles Sewer, Daily Bugle (Spiderman), etc.

I think I remember doing something similar, having the original figure injured so I could swap for the newer, cooler version. Then usually I would reuse the original as a different character lol.

Most of the time i would just slap together a cheap looking entrance for a ppv. Most of my entrances were made out of cardboard.
I remember "injuring" my series 4 austin fig in hopes that i would get the 2 tuff austin (the one that came with bossman) for christmas.Austin made his big return at the christmas ppv and attacked the Undertaker (who put him on the shelf in the first place).I then used the series 4 one as a wrestler called mr.Dallas.

"Rarest" is hard to define, but maybe "most sought after" would be a better term to use. What is the most sought after BCA, then? Probably either the Razor vs. Diesel or Bret vs. Owen Limited Edition 2-packs. These can still go within the $25-$35 price range, and that's about the most you can expect from BCA figures these days (compared to $100+ in the late 90s). Others like Superstars Series 1 Razor and Diesel, the Buried Alive Executioner, the Survivor Series Ultimate Warrior repaint, and DTA Tour Series 2 Blue Blazer don't retain nearly the same value as they once did, so I think they can be excluded from the list.

Thanks! I have another question. What is the BCA that was mass produced and nobody bought it?
