Don't let others stop you from doing something you enjoy. I see you said your friends make fun of you, well then they're not really your friends if they can't accept that fact about you. My closest friends know I collect figures and they don't care. If I went by what others thought of me all the time I'd have nothing...those people will just have to get over it. And if they don't like me because of that then it's their loss. Collecting figures doesn't change you as a person...if it's something you have a passion for, then do it. Unless you yourself no longer have interest in purchasing figures, I wouldn't stop.

You're too young to quit collecting.

I'm 27 and don't give a F+++ what anyone thinks. I agree with "Darkskymind," about priorities, but it's definitely great to have hobbies!

My advice is do what you like. I'm 32, single but I've always been able to get the ladies to understand it's a fun outlet for me, and when I show them the customs and fix ups, especially my old DA custom of myself they get into it and want there own Niko to play with. (Working on an updated Mattel of myself now too~! ;D ) I do have some friends that are wrestling fans and don't understand, but that's their problem not mine, and that's how I leave it.
Bottom line- DO WHAT YOU LIKE!

Yea man, im 22 and I still play and collect. I have more toys than my 8 year old cousin. My point of view is, life is way to short, and you grow old fast, Don't lose the kid inside you. My fiance only found out about my toys a year ago, I have kept it from her for 4 years, It brought us closer.... And she hooks me up with Gears of War figs and wrestling figures.
Like I read, Its better than being a homeless crack addict begging your parents for money to get high on. Instead you are buying future money makers. Its a smart yet fun investment.

Hahahaha... don't worry at all abt it bro!!!!! Its the love you have for yur passion and you should not let others' opinion of you, affect your love for figures i'm 21 and i still do buy figures often and i sometimes carry them in huge plastic bags, using public transport to go back home ;D I do get stares, sometimes even from kids!!!!!!! Just that day, i carried my SDCC 2010 19' Galactus on a 6pm FULLY-PACKED train!!! PPl were looking at me like 'what the F*uk is this guy carrying' ?? some were curiously staring at the artwork on the cover box and others were giving the creepy look like 'this guy is old and he's collecting toys' Well, long story short, i hope you do love your passion strong enough to not let others' affect you and you shoud proudly carrying on believing in your passion

Im 27, I still collect but yes I do feel a bit silly at times when I probably should be spending my money on something more "sensible" I have slowed down alot now days compared to the early- mid 2000's. But I still get the enjoyment out of buying the odd figure now and then.
But I dont think ill ever be able to get the feeling/excitment back of when I was younger so I do try and limit myself.

Don't take notice of what people say or how they look at you. If you get joy out of buying figures and collecting then don't let them take that away from you. I'm 23 and I felt the same way as you a few months ago but I realised that you shouldn't let people take the satisfaction of putting you down, they only do it to look big or cool but I see them as pathetic for making fun of someone for no reason necessary.

Well I can totally understand what everyone is saying with this topic. First of all, with the looks you get from people at stores when purchasing said wrestling figures, I still don't understand why we get those looks. What if the wrestling figures were for our kids?? (Well... we all know it's for us, but that's besides the point)
I always joke with the girl who is putting the figure through check out. I will just say "uh... it's for my little brother..??" and they usually laugh and say "my son is your age and collects matchbox toy cars still" so I would say it's pretty accepted over all from that stand point.
For friends and girls thinking it's lame, you will always come across that in life with anything. But you should never let anyone make you stop doing something you love because it isn't considered cool. Because honestly... what is 'cool' anyhow, right??
I have had girls find it to be cute that I have wrestling figures around my room, I have also had girls think I have the room of a 10 year old boy. My answer to that is always, "Yes, because 10 year old boys love to tack MOC figures on their walls and not play with them, right??"
I look at it this way, it's better to spend your money on something that you love and that you can show, than those out there who spend their weekends drinking up a storm and smoking weed non stop. At least we know where our money went, it went on our walls and on our wall units for display.

To the OP, I'm a few seasons over 21, just a few though, and i have a pic fed, so for that I buy/collect/"accesorize". That and I hold onto hope that one day my good pal Gmoney will leave a reply to my hard work ;D

You can never be too old for collecting. Good thing, because I am way over the limit and just started 5 1/2 years ago.

If you enjoy it keep doing it. Although once I quit it was nice to have cash to spend on things I actually needed rather than figs.

i'm 36,and still collect...i've "quit" several times in the past, only to return in a few months once i see something cool on the pegs/internet/etc...
if i've learned anything,it's if you enjoy it,do it! because if you quit not because you want to,but because of what others want, you'll only make yourself miserable....

I find the whole "you need to grow up and stop wasting your money on these things" argument amusing. Especially when people I graduated college with who are 26 and 27 are going out on a Friday night EVERY weekend and getting smashed ringing up close to $100 bar tabs or even more. Now I like to go and have a drink or two every once in awhile, but who really needs to grow up? If that is what they want to with their disposable income, then good for you, I hope you have a great time and can remember it. But at least I have something to show for the money I spent besides a splitting headache the next morning.
People who always mention they don't like the looks they get from employees at the stores, well who cares what somebody who is probably miserable to begin with and making $8 an hour thinks?
