Good for Edgar. Talk about stepping up to the plate to prove you earned your spot.
I wonder what's next for Penn now. Penn/Florian 2? Penn/Gomi 2? Interesting.

Edgar proved himself tonight. Was really let down by BJs performance but oh well. As far as Toney & Couture well I think its what most expected.

Were people really saying he was as good as Penn and hyping him up though? I don't follow MMA sites, so I just assumed people were saying he got lucky in the first fight. That seemed to be the general feeling around this site anyhow.
I actually saw the first fight on ppv, and although I was incredibly drunk (the depressing Silva fight made me seek comfort in the bottom of a cup of straight Jack and 7+ beers) I thought Edgar did enough to win. I was surprised to see so many people shaking their head at the judges decision, but I took their word for it. Definitely no questions left after this fight though.

I thought the critics were basically saying that Edgar was a fluke. But on MMATorch he was picked to win the fight tonight so maybe I'm dillusional.

Jesus Christ... Gray is the Jon Fitch of the 155's I hate his fights. They bore me, I was at Maynard vs Diaz, second row. His fight bored me to tears. I bet talking to him is even a daunting task. I would rather watch paint dry. I hope they take his shot away for being boring. him.

It will not matter anyway, George Sotoripolous is heading for the LW belt before 2011 is over anyway.

Great card tonight. Edgar owned it from the start to the finish. I maybe would have given BJ round 4, but Frankie kicked his ass. And James Toney made one mistake and Randy made him pay for it. Like Randy said though, I give James all the credit in the world for stepping in there, in his first ever MMA fight, against one of the best ever. And for being the first boxer to ever set foot in the Octogon.
Looking forward to 119, Mir/Cro Cop!

Couture will choke him out in the 1st round. I have no doubts in my mind about that. Well, I'd hate to say I'd told ya so, but I ing told ya so. LOL. ;D Couture took him down with ease and kept him down and grinded him up against the cage and he choked his ass out in the 1st round, EXACTLY like I said he would for weeks. Anyone who seriously picked Toney in this fight, I'm sorry, but you are a ing moron. I knew he had ZERO chance of beating Randy because Randy proved once more exactly how good he is. He tapped Toney's fat ass out. I think Toney's nickname should be changed from "Lights-Out" to "Tap-Out" 'cause that's exactly what he did tonight. Send his ass packing back to boxing and keep him there because he doesn't ing belong in MMA. End of story. As for B.J., man, he got SMOKED again. I lost that bet to a buddy at work. Oh well, I can't be right ALL the time. Only SOME of the time. In your face all you stupid James Toney fans.

Still, to be fair, the guy has done his job to get the title shot, regardless of whether or not he's all that entertaining.

What once was the most exciting divisions would be one of the dullest. But he worked for it. Can't deny that. Watching a Jon Fitch fight puts me out better than NyQuil

3-2 in my picks tonight. great card, looking forward to Edgar/Maynard, and to what BJ is going to do now. there are a few interesting fights for him at LW, with George Soriropolous(?), maybe a second Gomi fight, maybe even a second Florian fight. who knows maybe even Griffin. we'll see, should be interesting though.

I love how I got laughed at on here for saying "Edgar will win again but this time by unan. decision."
Anyways, not shocked Toney lost, but he will amount to nothing in the UFC, especially following the "I think my ground game is fine" comment.

BJ, where does he go from here? I had him losing every round in that fight, but man Edgar is the real deal. I hate that Florian lost, but I'm looking forward to Edgar vs Maynard II. And as for James Toney, Ha-f*cking-ha! Couture did what we all knew would happen.

tweetphoto.com/42069223Needless to say, these guys are happy Randy won. Pretty cool to get a pic of all of them together. There's also one of Chuck knocking Shaq out after he stole Chuck's GF's purse.
