my pinky and ring finger on my left hand have been numb/asleep for like 5-7 days now. When I open my hand all the way stretching my fingers, my pinky and ring finger are bent, they will not straighten. I can make a real hard fist with my right hand, I can barely squeeze with my left hand. When I have to use either of those fingers to type with, I don't, I use another finger to hit those keys, because my pinky is always hitting the caps lock button and it's annoying.
Anyways, help please. Anything like this happen to you? If so, what was it and what did you do to get rid of it?

Wow. I'd seriously go see a doctor. It could be nerve damage.
The first thing that came to my mind is when Michael J Fox told the story about his pinky finger being numb and spazzing out while he was filming Doc Hollywood. He ended up getting it checked out & they diagnosed it as Parkinson's Disease.
Hope everything ends up okay for you. Keep us posted.

I don't know how it happened. I never fell, I never jammed the fingers, nothing, they just became numb.
I'll call my doctor tomorrow, but I was hoping to get quick advice and solutions so I didn't have to.

I don't mean to alarm you but obviously it's not normal for a finger or any part of the body to be asleep nearly that long. It could be diabetes, you must see a Doctor and do it asap.

JS My grandma and some aunts have diabetes, but they didn't get it until after they turned 50 and it's just the female's that get it, no males in my family have had diabetes.

You did not recently fall on your head or injury your neck did you? Nope, the only thing I've recently hurt was my right knee cap popped out of place and into the side of my leg and then popped back into place. And thanks for the link, Jack.

i would've been worried after the first 6 hours and gone to the doctors, can't believe you waited that long.

When I read it the first thing I thought of was Diabetes too. If it's gone on this long, get the to a doctor.. and I mean that in the nicest possible way. I like you Slappy, It'll only be for your benefit to get this checked out and the sooner the better. The fact that you've waited this long already is not good if it's something serious. If you want to have your fingers, or regain the ability to use them get to a doctor ASAP, like right now if you can.

BTW, one thing I can tell you for sure is that the Pinky & Ring Finger are "Hangers" They aren't connected to your wrist/arm the way your Thumb, Pointer & Middle finger are. That's also another good reason to get it checked out. They could be dislocated even, and that would be a simple fix. Some pain medication and a pop back into place.

Slappy I thought you were smarter than this. It sounds serious and if I couldn't move my fingers for a week I'd be scared. Get to the doctor asap.

Best thing is to just go to sleep for now and when you wake up call a doctor...Maybe even go to the ER (even though that can be scary). It'd be stupid to have to explain when asked "Daddy, where did your fingers go?" and you'd have to explain "I went to WrestlingFigs.com first."
Also...It might be arthritis...I was diagnosed with that when I was 10 and those were similar symptoms...But my mom realized it was something serious and we went to the dr ASAP.

I've been told by my doctor that diagnosis via the internet is the worst thing to do, definitely go get it checked out.
