"Well, science has some bad news for you. More and more research in both the UK and the US is emerging to show that exercise has a negligible impact on weight loss." "studies "have demonstrated no or modest weight loss with exercise alone" and that "an exercise regimen… is unlikely to result in short-term weight loss beyond what is achieved with dietary change."" www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2010/sep/19/exercise-dieting-public-health

this is just silly, and i don't really believe this one study counters all the other evidence that has been shown for years that exercise does aid in a healthy life (including being at a healthy weight)

Stated by the beginning of the second sentence "More and more research in both the UK and the US."

I think diet has more to do with weight loss than exercising.

I think diet has more to do with weight loss than exercising. diet is the most important thing in both weight loss AND gain.

Being a lower weight is irrelevant if your body is not in a good, healthy, physical condition. You can weigh 400 lbs. and be in better shape than someone who weighs 150 lbs.

sooooo those 40lbs i lost are just a lie?!?! lmao. I mean you can't just "exercise" and plan to lose weight. You must have a well constricted diet to follow.

Just exercising alone won't make you lose weight but you also probably won't gain weight either. The key to losing weight is having a good healthy and nutritional diet as well as daily exercise.

I have a friend who went from I believe 217 to 160 in like one summer, you can basically see his ribs through his back, has extra skin on his arms and stomach. Quite frightening to say the least.
