Why hasn't mattel responded??? We need the stands. And I don't think mattel is getting cheap with the figures. I just think they put less effort into the ppv and 2pack lines. They are like extra lines mattel just throws together, for the most part. They did, this is there reply.."Here is the short and simple answer: In order to keep the retail price at the same level in 2011 as they are in 2010, and deal with the annual production costs in the toy industry ( this happens in every company) it was decided to cut the stands and nameplates as opposed to cutting detail on the figures." This is bogus. Why? Because Jakks can do the same for US$9.99 for their TNA DI line. Hogan came with sunglasses and a weight belt. And for around the same retail price or cheaper, in their Legends of the Ring line, Hogan came with a CLOTH robe. If Jakks which is smaller than Mattel- the world's largest toy company, can do it, i don't see how Mattel can't. It's all about boosting profits. Mattel started out with a bang to impress and convert customers to buy their product. Now they got you hooked, they gonna cut costs just like the latest Elite Batista's mike which only has the wwe logo on one side. Recent 2packs series have 1 cheap set in the same colours- MVP and Mark Henry both in red, Morrison and Ziggler both in grey. The 2pack of CM Punk and Luke Gallows lack camo detail and detail to Punk's boots. The Elite line is the best to collect imo in terms of value for money.

You really aren't comparing Jakks and Mattel are you? Yeah Hogan got those 2 things, but no kneepads. And what did everyone else come with? Other than the Hogan did they have the right parts and details? How is Jakks scale? What did the rest of the LotR figures come with? You can't compare the two Jakks cut major corners for at least the last 2 years. (Actually it's longer, because most of the time Jakks never added details to the back of the WWE figures) Plus Mattel had to make all new parts all Jakks is doing is adding new heads to their old WWE bodies. There's a huge savings in production costs right there for Jakks. While Mattel has produced just as many parts for their lines in 1 year than Jakks had in their 6 years of RA.
You can't compare Jakks TNA line to Mattel's WWe line because Mattel's production costs are probably higher to cover the costs of the WWE license which is much higher than TNA's.
As for the Mattel 2-Packs weren't MVP and Henry a tag team that wore watching colors...Normally red? as for the others I couldn't comment on because I don't watch SD so I have no clue to what the SES or Ziggler normally wear/look like.

You might not have noticed, but A) the Jakks figures aren't exactly dripping with detail, and B) does every figure in those series' come with accessories? Or have they offset the cost of Hogan by producing cheap, undetailed figures to pad out the line? They released a mic in series three with no WWE logo. The series 2 Punk had plain black boots as well. But you know what? He often wrestles in plain black boots.

You can't compare Jakks TNA line to Mattel's WWe line because Mattel's production costs are probably higher to cover the costs of the WWE license which is much higher than TNA's. Which will be the problem moving forward. Mattel started out with a bang to impress people without realizing that at some point production costs and limited selection would come back around and cause a drop in profits for year 2 and onward. Instead of starting off with a little less detail and a set every other month to figure out sells numbers, re-order numbers and cost of production fluctuations they went all in and now have to pull back to keep the profit margin the same. Bad idea to start to pull back on a group of collectors that just went through 3 years of Jakks pulling back on details and extras to increase profits.

I wish wrestling figures were released in a much slower schedule (if the cycle went one month basic singles and legends, the next month two-packs and PPV, the next month elites and premium [EG/DM] I'd be fine with it) but I don't think that'd make financial sense for Mattel and the richer collectors would hate it.

I liked the stands for my Legends figures. Gave them sort of a recognition and a difference my current superstars collection. I'm not that effected by it though. Also, I have close to 125 stands plus a bunch of name tags in my H/W list in my sig. If anyone is interested you can check them out!!!!

Also, to comment on the production costs, it's not like Mattel is cutting back on the detail like Jakks did. Mattel felt that people wanted th edetail more than the stands and name tags so they cut those off to keep the detail for the figures. I would rather have an Elite Sheamus with correct attire and colors and correct skin color and a new scan than have people know who he is with a name tag. To me, the name tags and stands were easily the first and best thing Mattel could have cut as far as production costs. Next would be the amount of figures per series and than something else, maybe accessories or package detail. I just feel Mattel will stick with the detail of the figures as the LAST thing they will ever have to cut to save on production costs. I'll buy a figure in a plastic zip-lock bag if I have to as long as they keep the detail and the scale they have.
