Savage is such a hard likeness to capture. I personally think my Jakks custom is a better likeness then the DF figure.

Ok. Got the green light to post more pics. I will modify this post witha few pics then. The most requested I have had are for face sculpt close ups. I am on the blackberry tonight ,so bare with me as I have to go through extra steps to upload multiple pics. Anyway here is a closeup headshot I had ready to go. Here's a ring gear/scale comparison pic: And an entrance pose: I have more, but due to my inabiity to resize these pics on my cell I won't post any here. I will entertain any requests through PM and when possible on the Official Pic Request thread.

I am on the blackberry tonight ,so bare with me as I have to go through extra steps to upload multiple pics. Anyway here is a closeup headshot I had ready to go. thanks for the pic. this confirms even more to me that i am extremely dissatisfied with the headsculpt. obviously i can't give my final opinion till i hold it in my hands, but from what i can see from these pics I don't think it looks like Savage at all, facially. seems to me most people here are so excited about getting a macho figure they're automatically labelling it as awesome without even looking at it properly and fairly evaluating it. i mean i give credit to mattel for the accessories and the detailing, but from what i can see from these pics - the facial likeness is inexcusably poor. but i'm sure most people won't notice. they see macho man's name on the package, and a guy with a beard and long hair, and thats all they care about. Hopefully the other mattel macho man figures that come out in future will have a better likeness. personally i'm looking forward to an NWO version.

After seeing more pics, I still like the figure a lot. I'm glad I pre-ordered it. If someone doesn't like the figure, he or she doesn't have to buy it. It's that simple.

I rly hope they come out with lots of Macho Man figures. I can see him being the Mattel's equivalent to Ultimate Warrior in the Jakks Classic Line.

After seeing the pic of Macho without his glasses and hat......I am starting to regret this purchase.

Everyone is so picky and all you do is complain! Can't make everyone happy i guess. I love my Elite Morrison figure, but I never ever display it with out his shades. It looks bad. Not a problem. LoL. It's macho man! The whole point is the outfit and the match that the figure represents. Plus, in a few months we can display his opponent from that match! Is it a perfect scan? No. So what. Leave his hat and glasses on. If I HAD to complain, I would say #1 I'm pissed they didn't get his arm bands right and #2, for $35 where is his shirt? But all things being considered, when I get it home, I'm sure that will be my fav fig. Atleast untill one of my Warriors come

He looks more like Lanny Poffo than Macho Man. lol. I will wait until I have the figure in my hands before I judge it though.

After seeing more pics, I still like the figure a lot. I'm glad I pre-ordered it. If someone doesn't like the figure, he or she doesn't have to buy it. It's that simple. Yeh, of course we don't have to buy it. But it's certainly not "that simple". You need to understand that Savage was the #1 most wanted classic/legends figure for years before mattel signed him. Even going back to the beginning of CS he would have still been within the top 5 without a doubt, and even before CS, people wanted some new figures of him. This is his first action figure in over 10 years. Macho Man is one of the most popular wrestling superstars of ALL TIME. The anticipation for this figure is MASSIVE. Unprecidented. People have a right to desire and expect something special. And in addition to this, Defining Moments series is marketed as the top-of-the-range, absolute premium product from Mattel's range. Now I'm not saying this figure is terrible. Far from it. The accessories and detailing is excellent. But some of us (myself included) are complaining because we are disappointed with the facial likeness of the headsculpt. Yeh, we don't have to buy it. But the point is, we do want to. We do want to buy a Macho Man figure. BUT we want to buy a REALLY AWESOME Macho Man figure, with a dead-on facial likeness. Not just any old Macho Man figure that doesn't really look like him.

I agree with The Assassin here on the facial likeness not even looking close to the real Randy Savage. The hair, no facial winkles and that torso really puts it off for me. That torso would have looked fine on Randy Savage during his final years in WCW. Thanks for the images and I do hope Mattel make another headscan for the legends 5 Randy Savage!

The Assassin pretty much nailed it. I remember everyone clamoring for a Macho Man and Ricky Steamboat figure. Well, Legends 1 rolled out an amazing Steamboat figure, and with the unveiling of DM at Toyfair, the anticipation of a Macho Man finally gracing our collections grew to great heights.
I honestly don't think any debut Mattel Savage figure would have lived up to the hype, but I just don't see Randy Save in this figure's sculpt. Will that prevent me from buying it? Yes, but that is MY choice, not everyone else's. I want accurate figures, it's as simple as that. I'm sure this figure will be in HUGE demand regardless, but that's just my take on it.

The more I see this figure, the more I am not so sure about the head. I mean, it's awesome to have a Macho Man after alllllll these years. But the face and now seeing what the hairline looks like under that hat.......it's just not what I expected.
I'm still buying it though, so I guess it really doesn't matter, lol.

The bad head scan has helped me to decided to hold off on this figure. This is definatly not worth the outrageous price Mattel is asking for it. I've waited 15+ years for a WWF Macho fig, whats another few months to a year.

Being the son of a pair of the world's biggest Bee Gees fans, they'll be glad to know do that Barry Gibb finally has an action figure.

Too much hair on the forehead, but he still looks awesome. I'll keep mine inside the box.

I have noticed things look a little better for this figure when placed very close to a light. I know that you shouldn't have to do that to get a figure to match its real life counterpart However ,once I went to set my figures back on display in the ESR,Macho was placed closest to the right side lamp. Under that light several small details in his face shown up far more. Wrinkles, lines ,crows feet. It definately looked a lot better. Or at least more like Savage. The catch here though is that it looked like Savage circa 83-84. Which is cool and all but this supposed to be from 91 If the hair was different and the lines on his face deeper,I don't think it would criticized as much. And once you get him in hand, that the likeness is not stellar on the surface,it does look better in person than my pics or the original posters. I agree that Macho should have a more definative headscan. He's Randy Savage! He should be biting a lip, smiling maniacally, straining, something along those lines. A straight faced Savage is not what I think most people want in a Savage figure But I do think this is a solid...no stelllar(for the detailing) figure to own.

my problem is,they have an article in the newest Toyfare magazine with Mattel, and it's specifically about this figure, and the DM line....and they basically say this is their premium line...that extra attention will be paid to detail, and the price point allows them to make accurately detailed sculpts, paint, and accessories...
apparently not....
likeness that doesn't look like Macho
wrong style of hair
wrong body type
missing the shirt
missing the forearm covers
...THAT is why i'm disappointed....i expected a DEFINING MOMENT Macho Man....instead,we got someone pretending to be Macho Man....and for those saying i,or others, are compl;aining too much:
A) i know Mattel can do better....most of the Legends headsculpts are great if not perfect...
B) Mattel THEMSELVES hyped up this figure, and how great it would be....well,then,you better deliver...and they didn't,in my opinion...
