I'm in my late teens and I love collecting mattel but none of my friends my age does it except for one and of course anytime I check out at wal mart the lady at the register sometimes makes a remark like "aren't you a little old?" or something like that and I usually say well it's my money so.....I mean it's not like I play with them I mean sometimes I might mess around and do a few moves just for the heck of it but I mostly collect and I've noticed on here there are older people that collect as well...do you think I should just say the heck with it and do what I want cuz I am what I am or what? I think anyone should be able to collect and do what they want without any negative things said. Anyone else agree?

I think it's fine at any age. I also think it's fine for people to make fun of it. I'm 27, this entire past year I've been obsessed with wrestling figures.

I'm 35...if you figure out if there's such a thing as "too old to collect", I wish I found out 25 years ago. No I don't.

Nope. A hobby like any other.
And that lady is a "bit too dumb to work at a walmart". Why make comments on clients purchases?

Hey, I'm 37 and I still collect... I like the Elite style as well as Legends figures. I have a custom hobby, my wife hates the fact that I haven't grown-up yet, but with 4 boys in the house, and 2 like wrestling, what the heck! I say, if you can afford to buy and enjoy it, do what you want. QUAGMIRE
Also, who cares what anyone who works at Walmart says, I have gone through that crap too.... I have a great paying job, so I act like there just jealous that I can afford and enjoy my childhood, even as an adult. GIGGITY!!!!

No way. I don't care what anyone thinks. They can make fun of me too. No problem. I do this because I enjoy it and it keeps me busy. There is no age limit regardless of what people think or say.
The fact that you actually care what a cashier at Wal-Mart thinks of you is funny. I don't mean it in a bad way against you but someone working there and giving you a smart remark should not bother you. They shouldn't feel superior in any way to a customer.

Not at all.
The best response to the question is always "Would you rather I spend my money on drugs?"

I'm 31 and still loving it. I never get comments at the register mainly because people tell me I'm scary looking.

i still play with my figures and im a teen (14) i just dont give a damn what people think if i want to play with action figures then im gonna play with action figures. your problem is your afraid of what people would think about you even though the people that say something about it will probably never see you again after high school so the poit is do what you want to do and dont let what other people say offend you.

Never too old. I'm 27 and even play with them once in awhile still. My mom bought me my first figures when I was about 5 (Macho & Hogan Hasbro) and I will never stop.

Wow guys lol now I most certainly do not feel alone thanks and no I don't really care what people say or think and if I did I would have stopped a long time ago it's just I wanted to know if other people maybe went through the same thing before and yes the lady at the register is an idiot for saying that because I'm a customer and still a teenager but that wal mart was in another state anyways and I'm glad to see some of you in your 20's actually play with them lol I'm glad to see we somewhat stick together here because we are a minority in a way so thanks everyone.

im 17 and i collect wrestling and sports figs and people give me looks when im buying them and one time some punk working by the bathrooms at walmart ask me "are you really buying toys at your age, shouldnt you buy something else like games or something that most teens like" and i told him "shouldnt you just shut your mouth and do your job instead of worry what the F*CK i do with my money and shouldnt your harry potter lookin a** get back to cleaning the piss off the floor in the bathroom" -so what im saying is dont listen to sad people who are mad at them self take out there anger on you for enjoying something

Its becoming a pain for me as well. My mom just doesn't understand and I try to tell her that its something I enjoy...but she doesn't listen, she thinks I should be doing what normal teens do at my age. Oh well. I will never stop.

24, 25 in 5 months. I don't care what anyone says. As people have said here, it's a hobby like everyone else.

You're never too old. I just turned 23 and I just started collecting in late January. Mattel won me over. The only other wrestling figures I have ever had were BCA. I never liked anything from jakks after BCA.

What do normal teens do at your age? You know what I was doing? Smoking pot and skipping school. You should tell your mom you could be doing a lot worse things than collecting something you enjoy. What is your mom's idea of what a normal teen does? Just curious.
